Asian makeup artists and influencers really been out here giving the MOST detailed instructions for beautiful hooded eye looks for all of us other ethnicities for forever and a day! God bless you for sharing these skills and techniques 🥺❤️🙏
I’m an older white lady; almond eyes also can be hooded! I’ve learned so much from your videos; even the big name stores here in Australia have no idea how to deal with mono eyes. Thank you!!
I don’t even have monolids but it’s nice to hear someone acknowledge that eyelash curlers don’t work for all eye shapes. I have super deep set eyes so they always stab me in the browbone. I found a single one that was short enough to fit, but it was a random small brand at CVS so I haven’t been able to replace it
I found one on Amazon that is a small compact type of curler and it's been useful for me bc I have a hard time with regular curlers too. The one I got is from japoneque and says portable compact eye curler. Look weird and smaller but I'd try it if you're interested in a backup one.
sorry these aren’t true monolids though… I’d consider them to technically be hooded eyes rather than monolids. mine have no fold at all, and I rarely ever see any tutorials for eyes like mine
Yes!! Awesome makeup!! As a monolid Asian myself, fortunately growing up in Japan with also lots of Korean makeup influences, the thin eyeliner and the mild tone shimmer has been the way to go💕 As much as I love the western style makeup like cutting the crease and thick long winged line, it just doesn’t look flattering on me at all 😅
I just have to say I love Asian make up YTers. I’m African American but it can be hard to find TH-camrs that do makeup for my rounder face and hooded almond eye shape. I’ve learned how to highlight my features so much better. Thank you!
I’m white and I also experience the same things you do! Asian makeup (specifically Korean makeup) just looks better on my face in my opinion. I’ve tried those bold looks before and it just looks crazy on me. I can only get away with it when I had dance recitals lol. My face is rounder (which is kinda good? But it makes me look younger than I am so kinda not?😂) just remember you are beautiful with or without makeup!!!💖
I've been lurking on makeup tutorials for monolidded eyes for years. The techniques are transferable to hooded eyes, like mine, and I'm super thankful!
However this is first ever asian eye tutorial for someone who doesnt have the double lid. Thats crazy considering all damn beauty things out there this is first time im ever seeing a diviation for different eyes. Go girl
Also tip I got from a MAC store artist and another professional make up artist (both Asian Australian): for gel eyeliner, do not use the default brush that comes with the product AND a flat liner brush works better than an angled liner brush for a lot of Asian eyes because angled brushes are designed more for deeper eyes.
Omg, if you ever want a new hairstyle, I think you would look really cute in curtain bangs! You look great as you are but I think you could pull them off!
i don't have monolids but learning to do my makeup with my eye open looking straight ahead it's probably the best top I've gotten i recommended it to everybody
That’s so cool. I always see double eyelid tutorials but this is the first monolid tutorial I’ve seen so far. As someone with monolids I deeply appreciate this.
im korean but have double lids in my family and am so envious of all the girls with monolids. I think the way your eyes look are so pretty like a doll and i love the way monolids make eyelashes stand out more!
FRFR, plus you can also add more inner space to your lower lid. Use a brown liner, draw it right under your water line but make sure the edge is a straight line and doesn’t curve up according to the eye shape. Blend it down in the aegyo-sal area and then use concealer pen. This really helps!
As a hooded eyed girl, I recommend drawing the wing of the eyeliner under the fold or it's gonna be crooked and I personally don't do eyeliner over my whole eye, just the corner and the wing is enough so that there's some space for the eyeshadow.
Beautiful!! I love the kind of makeup that Asian women do because it's so much more natural and really works to accentuate your features instead of transforming the person
I’m Asian but my eyes are double eyelids but they are soooo close so my eyes so young can’t really see the eyelids yet they’re not Monolids. Whenever I’d eyeliner it just smudges when I blink and the eyeliner goes everywhere so ig this was helpful
Not mono-lid but beginner to makeup. Thank you 🙏 ❤so much for this detailed tutorial…I loved it 🥰 and sent it to my daughter (preteen, she’s learning).
I wasnt convinced at first with just the eyeshadow it looked like her eyes was swollen but it turned out so nice in the end. Trust the process i guess.
for the girlies that have hooded eyes, but deeper in the sockets, adding the lighter shades of shimmer to the middle of the eye actually helps your eyes pop out, from my experience. we want them to look a little puffier, given that our eyeballs are more inside your socket, if you will, so using the reverse technique she uses helps! just adding that to this wonderful video, because some of the hooded eye techniques like this often make my eyes look sunken. so figuring out why was a lifesaver. it's all about finding the make up that suits your features, and even if some of these helped me a lot, like the eyeliner and the eyelash tips, some of the eyeshadow tips sometimes don't work on me, particularly the shimmers. it took me a lot of experimenting to understand where the differences were and how to make the make up work for me.
I don’t have this type of monolid but on my monolid besties, I always do a variation of a smoky eye so it’s fully visible when they blink and ppl can see the gradient when their eyes are open
omg thank you for saying this, i always felt like it was an unpopular opinion - as a monolid girl, i hate hate hate that chunky panda eyeliner technique. never understood why gurus were pushing that online. it shrinks the eye and looks ugly when you close your eyes. I just draw a straight wing starting from the outer third. there's no need for the line to be "visible," the point of eyeliner is just to enhance/enlarge the eyes
I do not have this eye shape, but I wanted to be a makeup artist and I was researching makeup for different eye shapes. I couldn't find a tutorial for hidden double eyelids that didn't use double eyelid tape. Nothing wrong with that, but I think it's great you are showing a different way to do eyeshadow for this eye shape!
You're the first person I've heard mention the shimmer tone issue!! I noticed darker shimmer look so much better on me and light shimmer looks horrible
I have hooded eyes to the point where my lid isn’t even visible and I’ve had to adopt this method. 10/10 would recommend ☺️
In your pfp it doesn't seems that way....
@@Otaku_u-girl girl what?
@@rhiannajd4412 i meant to say your eyes it doesn't seems to be hooded....if it's you in your pfp.
@@Otaku_u-girl they are. I was doing a pose

I always pinch my dang eyelid. I don't know if I have "deep set eyes" - but I do have ridiculously short lashes 😂😢
I found one on Amazon that is a small compact type of curler and it's been useful for me bc I have a hard time with regular curlers too. The one I got is from japoneque and says portable compact eye curler. Look weird and smaller but I'd try it if you're interested in a backup one.
i have this problem and the only one that’s been able to work for me is the travel lash curler from dollar tree
Now i know why my eyelash curler stab me im always careful but it touched the edges of my eyes its annoying
I always do my eyes like that especially my eye liner
Omg thank you… there are like no videos out there that helps with non-cat eye monolids out there. Love this!
Mono-lids are so unique and gorgeous it's always nice to see someone embracing their features
Us monolid asians do not have enough makeup tutorials 😭😭 thanks for this, ite very helpful!

That setting liner trick is incredible, I will absolutely be using that
Omg!! A real monoeyelid tutorial!! 😭❤️
I love monolid eyes even tho I don’t have them they are just so pretty and beautiful
thank you soo much!! having monolids is such a pain and it’s nice to know I’m not alone ☺️
Did anyone else think Lisa Nygyugen when they saw the first eyeliner
OMGG AS A ASIAN FINNALY I FOUND THE VIDEO THANK YOU ❤
I did this exact same make up and my mom said “who punched your eye?” TO MY FACE, LMFAO HELP 😭
Make it low don't extend it to the under eyebrows
Omg, if you ever want a new hairstyle, I think you would look really cute in curtain bangs! You look great as you are but I think you could pull them off!
we need more monolid/hooded eyes representation!!! seriously so hard to find makeup looks that would suit my eyes
Both of my eyelids are different so I can never make the makeup look the same on both😭
What individual lashes do you use? So pretty ❤❤❤
That eyelash curler is AMAZING. I was skeptical that it was really THAT good, but it really is. Worth every cent.
I've been searching for someone who can guide me with monolid make up, thank you so much ㅠㅠ.
I have almond shaped hooded eyes and I'm gonna try this next time I do makeup! It looks so pretty 💕
btw, theres a tape or glue that make ur eelid double and show the eyeline that most asians use

Yes be proud of your monolids
I absolutely adore shu uemura's lash curler also
You’re literally gorgeous
I don’t have monolids but I can never find a makeup look that flatters my eye shape. I’m going to try this. Thank you for what you’re doing!
I have partially hooded lids and this method works best for them too! 😊
This is drop dead gorgeous
OMG TYSM UR THE FIRST PERSON THAT I FOUND WHO HAS A SIMILAR EYE SHAPE THIS HELPED SO MUCH
And it looks beautiful AND natural
I love the look! I feel like someone could do a complementary colour line above what was already done if that was your jam or for fun. 😊
using thicker eyeliner can also look good on monolids if you do it evenly :)
Beautiful!! I love the kind of makeup that Asian women do because it's so much more natural and really works to accentuate your features instead of transforming the person
Love how I watched all with my almond shaped eyes. Monolids r so pretty✨
I needed this info so bad ten years ago. I just do the eyeliner with the shadow trick and it’s a world of a difference.

the eyeshadow still looks amazing even tho you don't have monolids or hooded eyes. I love the go light then medium and then shimmer also!
