R-CADE: Rockefeller Center's new arcade in NYC! 4K walkthrough & tour, June 2024

A brand new arcade for 2024 has just opened up in Midtown Manhattan in one of the most unlikeliest of places -- Rockefeller Center! Yes, the home to NBC, the giant Christmas tree, and ice skating rink... it now has a retro arcade to call its own. The catch? It's for a limited time only.
R-CADE is presented by the Barcade chain, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year. It's located inside of the ice rink's skate rental area, and utilizes machines from their wide collection of games. In fact, all of the games take the same tokens you can get at any Barcade location. They've got a lot of classic favorites... your Donkey Kongs and Ms. Pac-Mans, your Galagas and the like. They also have quite a few rarities, including some that I've never seen in person before, such as Zombie Raid, Fearless Pinocchio, and Pirate Ship! In addition to that, they have a small selection of pinball machines, from older Williams and Bally titles to modern ones from Stern and Jersey Jack.
If you want to stop in and play some games, make sure you get here before October 1st, because that's when this pop-up is scheduled to close!

How well maintained were these? (also kinda sad it's only temporary since it can show barcade they don't need liquor to have good games for public play) I see the JJP Pirates is out, but the other games look like they're in decent shape.

All were in pretty good shape, and very playable. Spent a lot of tokens there that day! My wife was in the area again yesterday, checked it out since someone removed all the machines off Pinball Map, and confirmed that everything is still there and back up and running - including JJP Pirates.

Yeah, but only for the summer season! When the rink opens back up for skating in October, this will be closed. I'm going to guess that most of these will be moving to their new Barcade location that's scheduled to open in the Financial District later this year.
