    Awesome to see your ideas culminated...well thought out. And great to see old American steel back out on the road...car manufacturering families/middle class have been through hell and back

    The MOST important part of any build is the little things; the lights, the fans, the bumper...BIKE NIGHT! You have to make time for what's important. Good on ya'!

    You are a miracle man I once put a Ford flat head 8 in a 51 jeep truck back in the seventies , took a lot of fitting for that. That is why you get this tittle.Great job

    Michigan and dad and his dad worked at great lakes steel and McLouth and Rouge steel, as well as my brother. My girl works at FCA here and I build Ford hvacs. But always have been a Mopar guy and absolutely love your videos!

      @@GrenadeMotorsports I do have a quick question. Since the durangos and the Rams both have the 5.7 and I would assume same trans. If I wanted to make my ram AWD, wouldn't I be able to just get a Transfer Case from a Durango and swap them? Also would the front diff need to be changed to anything or can that stay the same?

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The trans cases are different for Ram and Durango. The whole front of a frame on a 2wd ram is different. Get another truck. It would be way easier and cheaper. Front and read differentials must match in gearing exactly or you'll destroy the transfer case among other things. Far too complicated to make a swap like that, with zero payoff. Just get a 4x4 ram and buy extra beer. :)

    Love that bumper bar, it looked a little weird stopping short, that really finishes it off nicely.

    I'll say it again.I am so jealous of you in the USA who can build and use cars like this. Down here the leftys took that away from us in the 1970's. Great jeep! just what i'd love top build and drive or maybe a wagoneer with the full plastic moldings.😀

    NIce Willys project . I see that you have a Studebaker in the garage too. I recently sold my 53 Studebaker 2R5 and miss it. Building a 56 Willys pickup now.. on a Studebaker frame with a Ford Ranger powertrain. The most fun part of the project is getting all the stuff to fit together. Nice job!

      Yep- and we drove a four speed 383 1974 Duster in high school, with long hair jamming Metallica. My first 4x4 was a Plymouth Trailduster. I was pretty happy when they reintroduced the Hemi engine in 2003. Thanks so much for watching!

    Like the way you added the lower bumper / grill to protect the bottom of those coolers. Was thinking if you painted it to match the grill and body colors. Whatever ya do will be cool tho.

    Excellent job, amigo. To me, it just looks "right", and you can't go wrong with +\- 345 HP in maybe a 3,000lb ride. I understand one of the previous commenters wishing for a narrower track...I know the current trend is to have everything tucked well in...but I don't think it's excessive, and makes it look more like a "serious performance" ride to some of us old-timers. Kudos.

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I agree, it looks mean! I like this one but it's the "what's next" that really gets me fired up! Thanks and thanks for watching!

    To the people that gave this video a thumbs down If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you go now and smash that thumbs up,that'll be the end of it.

    Cool build just wish the front wheel track width was a few inches narrower on those Durango's

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The front of these Jeeps are very narrow, so it makes it look odd. You could correct most of it with different rim backspacing and fender lip flares, if done correctly. As with all these Durango builds- the fun is best experienced behind the wheel! Thanks so much for watching!

  • @mikesjeeps2711
    @mikesjeeps2711 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Great job on the front bumper. Wheelbase and stance looks perfect for the body. What radiator did you use?

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! The bumper took hours to build, but I knew that's what I wanted, so I stuck with it.I wish I'd have used a custom built radiator because when they go to mount Aircon in this thing, the condenser is NOT going to fit up front. I used the stock Durango radiator and made it work.

    • @GrenadeMotorsports
      @GrenadeMotorsports  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The K engines are mean little bastards but I like to stay with Toyota when it comes to these. I'm not sure what's happening with this one yet. I might swap it with a 2GRfe or just sell it the way it is. All original, bone stock. Thanks so much for watching!

      @@GrenadeMotorsports i actually have a 99' Toyota Corolla myself, with the 1.8 lt engine and a 5 speed manual gearbox. It's a little ripper in stock format, saving some $$ for a few upgrades. So, i can understand staying with Toyota, they make very reliable engines, if nothing else :)
