❤❤❤ it I love blue and that is beautiful. I’m starting on mine as I watch you do yours. I’m using the yellow yo-yo maker to do my circles fingers crossed it works with vintage embroidery Doyle flowers on the top.
I immediately thought of your brooch video when I heard the February prompt. Thanks for giving us another option, your bracelet turned out beautifully.
Creative idea! ❤. I think if I were to do a similar project, I’d have the elastic ends under the cushion, so they’d be extra secure. Filming and thinking is a real challenge for me. I didn’t even realize till you pointed it out that the elastic was opposite of what you’d intended. 🤗
I have dreams where there are holes or tunnels around me and I keep trying to stitch them closed! It does make me wonder sometimes if I'm actually awake. 😂 I may have a go at trying your wrist pin cushion. I always seem to lose my needles on my table top or on to the carpet. Wishing you better dreams tonight!
Funny how our crafting finds its way into our dreams. A little while back I was spending a lot of time looking at org charts and structures at work. I kept having dreams where the boxes on the org chart were pieces of fabric. Your pincushion looks so wonderful! Cheers, Christine
Aaaahhh so pleased your doing a tutorial on a wrist pin cushion as I was thinking along the same lines . Fantastic shall be following along with you. Thanks Christine ❤
Hi Christine. What a cute wrist/bracelet pin cushion. Thanks for sharing your process. It’s pretty as well as practical. I love it. I might try making one if and when I can find the time. To answer your question, yes I do have dreams where I think I’m awake but I’m really asleep. It’s quite weird. Take care. Hugs 💕❤️🙂
Wnjoyed your company over lunch at Tom's today Christine, so we watched you work on the giant screen. Love how this sweet little pincushion cuff turned out, I totally need to make one now, and you've got me thinking about pincushions in the shape of macarons, doughnuts with sprinkles, currant buns .... :) I've had a version of that weird half-waking dream thing too, where you think you're awake and totally aware, someone/thing is there and you can't move and yet somehow you drift back off to sleep and all is well in the morning. Like you I concluded that it was a dream, but I had no idea it was a "thing" that other people experience too. Humans are strange and mysterious creatures :)
We sure are strange and curious creatures and those awake dreams are most curious indeed but do seem quite common based on our stitch community reports. I can’t wait to see what fabulous pincushion creation/s you make. I won’t ask if Tom made any jokes about hobbit pincushions. Hope you had a lovely time visiting with Tom. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
I like the yoyo idea and stirching the circles together and cutting a slit in the side that will be hidden. I also like the ort button closure but I would fasten it at the side of my wrist (tiny wrist) with some pretty tails. I love the blue but I am going to do mine in cream and burgundy (have my mound of scraps piled high for my other slow stiching projects). I just finished a small circle with JOY embroidery on it. I now need to find buttons to sew the loop together. I have it stuck into the side of my Chesterfield by that loop. Love stitching just love it.
I remember long ago that I bought a cuff pin holder and I really found it useful, fast and easy to get in the rhythm of putting pins in it. I may try something making one. Thank you for such a cute design.
Thank you Linda - I hope you enjoy making one of these as they really are handy. Hopefully it means I misplaced my needle less often😆 cheers, Christine
Very good idea for the Roxy project. I love your embroidered fabric! Do you think it would work to make yoyos and put the felt inside them for my bottom pieces? That is what I thought you were going to do when you cut out the little circles. I really enjoy all of your videos Cristine. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks so much. I think the only thing to consider is having a protective solid base so you don’t risk a needle or pin stitching into your wrist. Have fun creating. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
"I'm not fussy over that eztra stitch" lol. You could put a few seed stitches,, make a cross stitch. I would do some fremch knots or bullion stitches around the edge. This is adorable. Neutral enough to coordinate with your wardrobe. Thank you. I'm thinking of attaching mine to a scrunchie and making an ort button and loop to tighten it up as kneaded. Off to eat some bread.
I make myself laugh (at myself) quite often. I think slow stitching is good for me as it balances my perfectionist traits elsewhere in life (which I work to moderate in those realms too). Thanks for the additional ideas also 💙🪡🧵
Would you provide a link to the Suzi Q vid about making mushrooms? I love mushrooms in all their varieties to eat and craft. Saw a vid yesterday about mushroom dyeing, too. You'd think I'd hate The Last of Us but I kinda' think that would be a great apocalyptic way to go, so I love the series. (BTW, the last dream I remember was one where I had male-pattern baldness. Normally, not something necessarily bad, except I'm not a MALE!)
Here’s a link to the video where Suzie was sharing her dyeing experiments to make mushrooms but I can’t for the life of me find an actual mushroom video from her so maybe I saw a photo she posted elsewhere th-cam.com/video/NxDSNfu9NaE/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared Dreams can be very strange for sure! Cheers, Christine 💛
Hi Christine! I just discovered you yesterday, and I am blown away. You do beautiful work and as an all media crafter, I was inspired. But, I have no beautiful fabric, or perle threads like you have to work with. I never saw threads like that before. I definitely must find some be it just one to try and feel it. I Googled everything, and where I live, there is nothing of this sort. I have issues getting felt. Only cheap thin synthetic felt seems available. I only have cheap floss I found in the thrift store which is definitely not like the one you use. I am in love with your ort beads but I have no ort scraps. I can use cotton or batting. I love everything you do. Im very interested in floral stitch painting and making a needle and craft book. Beautiful pin cushion! I love blue and Ivory!
Hi Jane - most of my supplies are purchased second hand (from op shops/charity stores or Facebook marketplace) or from a place that has reclaimed fabric samples from industry. When I started out sewing I used old clothes too as my fabric and still do today. I’ve shared a video recently on creating your own variegated threads using white crochet cotton and inktense. You can add your own embroidery to pieces if you can’t find vintage embroidery pieces. I hope that provides some ideas. Cheers, Christine
@@createandcraftwithchristine Thank you Christine. I have limited thrift resources but I have found some things. Those threads are next level. I never saw these in any shop in person. It just looks better than DMC to me. I have some clothes that I was going to repurpose and start a scrap pile. And I will search your video with variegated thread. I can maybe try using inks and if inktense watercolor works, I can try that. I definitely can embroider my own things. I wanted to try doing your wrist pincushion, but iv never seen elastic ruffle picot like you used. Its so pretty! I never had a pin cushion aside my mom’s. So it’s time I had one I think :) i will be watching your videos backwards.
This is really cute Christine, now all I need is a tiny cute lid like you have! What was that from, a jar of garlic? Anyhoo, please do NOT reign in your ideas, I love your ideas!! And yes, I have had those awful dreams where you think you're awake and something terrible is happening. I've had the ones where you can't move either, those are horrible.
Hello Carrie 🤗 it’s lid from a mini Bonne Maman jam jar - I have a bunch as I got a Christmas advent. But I have lids of similar size in my pantry from capers from the supermarket if that helps :) I’m sorry you’ve had the paralysis dreams (read about those while researching my strange or not so strange situation) and it must be really scary to have one of those. Our brains are funny things for sure! Happy crafting and creating. Cheers, Christine
Thank you! The elastic was just a random piece I would have received second hand I imagine. A haberdashery store might have something similar or you could make a fabric cuff and have a closure on it. Cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
A few weeks ago , hubby was away with work , I was in bed asleep and I heard someone call my name “ Jo” which I woke up to , jumped out of bed and called out to whom I thought it was calling my name , no one about, looked out the front window and no one, I really thought I heard my name being called. Was very strange. Must of been in that in between sleep and awake phase ,Maybe as I still think I really heard my name being called.
I’m so glad to hear someone I know has had this experience too. It was uncanny as like you I remain sure it actually happened. But good to know there is a “scientific” explanation for it too. Thankfully last night I just had regular dreams. Cheers, Christine
Your dog may have a herding instinct and that’s why he’s a bit trouble when one of you it’s in the water and the other out. Herding dogs like to keep their people in a pack.
THis is great, wearable and so totally practical I was going to pass on this month but now maybe not thank you😀
Thanks Lesley - glad this has provided a burst of inspiration 💙🧵🪡
❤ Love the blue and white embroidered flowers. Great job, great idea to put jar lid at bottom for protection. 😊😊
Thank you my friend - I love when an idea works out 🤗 cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡

Great idea 😊
Thank you Beverly - hope you’re having fun stitching a project too 💙🧵🪡
Fabulous,Christine! A little stitched macaron! Thanks for your idea❤
Haha - it really does lol like a macaron 😆 cheers, Christine 💙🧵🪡
I have not seen one of these in a long time. Good job. Nice to upcycle embroidery to use too. The colors are awesome.
Thanks Michelle - really enjoyed making this and it’s getting its first use tonight 🧵💙🪡 cheers, Christine

Thank you Pam 🤗
hello from France (blue France ;) ). Thank you Christine, great idea.
Bonjour and thank you for stopping by! Cheers, Christine

I've made this with a milk bottle cap, not as nice as your though Christine ❤, and I used my orts to stuff 😂
