    Not gonna lie, seeing the bright red close to you, I thought a red garment would look so great on you😍

    I love your podcasts, you always mention every important detail about a garment. I think to myself "huh i wonder how scratchy this yarn is" and a second later you come in with "OH it is also incredibly soft"

    Don't forget you have an audience here in the southern hemisphere. We have the opposite seasons to you, so we will appreciate your design year-round 😊

    Hi from Qld Australia 🇦🇺
    I came across your free jumper/sweater pattern on Ravelry, and I must say I've now moved your pattern to "next in line". I really enjoy accompanying tutorials, as it gives me so much more confidence. I'm intending to knit this for my grandaughter.
    So, thank you Florence.❤

    Looking forward to your cardigan pattern Florence. I’ve made 4 of your Step by Step sweaters & this pattern is fab for beginners. Thank you so much!

    Your 'Super Selene' sweater turned out beautifully. I appreciate your attention to describing the details of the pattern, like the way you switched dominant color strands for the points of the chevrons.

    I love your podcast. You explained that short row turn around perfectly. I've heard that described so many times and yours was the clearest. All the best, Kimberly

    Oh yes, please do start your new summer design soon. I'd love to see it! I have a t-shirt quantity of kfo cotton merino in stash that I really want to use this summer! 😊

    I had to have a smile at the mitten section - I have just started knitting colourwork mitts and my goodness how many times they got half knitted and pulled back, change of yarn, change of needles etc (at least 10 I reckon). The tension on the first is far too loose so I’m now knitting that one again to match the better fit mitt, but I may make 2 matching pairs eventually. Someone gave me a great tip: knit inside out so the floats appear on the outside - this really helped with getting the tension even, but you have to be on the ball when reading the chart!
    Have you ever knitted with Icelandic yarn? Great stuff with a sheepy smell, by Istex. Makes a scratchy garment which can’t really be worn next to the skin but incredibly warm.
    Keep it up, knitting is very therapeutic, except when mitten wrangling!

    Yay for dad’s sweater! I’ve knit a cardigan for my dad ages ago but he never wears it 😅

    I agree about handknits shouldn’t or dont have to look store bought. I like the feel that a human made it. Also sandnes garn has been very reliable for me between dye lots, so i don’t think you should have too much trouble with that! :)

    Already applied to the test knit as the design is gorgeous😍 Your plans sound lovely. I'm excited to see what you'll design for summer and how the jumper for your dad will turn out! I have the same PetiteKnit colour in the Sunday yarn for a cardigan I'll cast on soon, it's just so pretty.

    Florence, your mittens are so nice, I am impressed! And I think nobody (except yourself) is ever going to think: "If she stretches her thumb, it's too stretched out" ;-)
    2 days ago, I cast on a storm sweater for myself and when I did, I thought of you as it's such a "Florence's-colour" --> beige 😅 (Drops Lima 0206). I really like the pattern and hope you are going to enjoy it as well 😊

    That wrap is just beautiful! I can’t wear them, stomach gets in the way, so I usually find something I don’t like about them! But this one is very elegant!

    Hi Florence! After listening to your podcast I ordered a set of SeeKnit interchangeable needles 5". I had never heard of them b4 and have always used Chiagoos. I'm excited to try them!

    If you do stripe the KFO navy and marzipan, I would swatch first. I recently used deep petroleum blue merino and mohair and experienced some bleeding/staining onto my fingers and in my project bag. Hopefully, the marzipan color won’t get ruined. 🩵

    I would just save cuffs and collars for the other dye lots. You can graft them on later.

    “I’m a bad daughter” I feel this way about all of my family 😂 but to be fair they all live very close to the equator and wouldn’t be able to utilize it very much anyways.

    I heard a hint today about joining the blown yarn-use a tapestry needle to thread the new end right into the old end for sone inches.

    Helle, from Danish musings talked about splicing blown yarn, she threaded the new yarn into the tube of the old one for a bit, sounded like a good idea.😊

    I ordered the Petiteknit zipper purse as a Christmas gift (in the midnight blue flower print). It arrived with a hole in the bottom lining where some thread had snapped and the top seams by the zipper were noticeably crooked. I'd ordered a small project bag from the PK site before and the construction/finishing was much better quality. I vaguely remember reading somewhere on her insta that they used to be assembled in Denmark but had outgrown the factory due to high demand and are now made in "socially responsible facilities in India" . Perhaps that's one of the reasons why the quality seems different? Anyway, loved the podcast as always!😊

    • @handmadebyflorence
      @handmadebyflorence  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      ah I assumed the other project bag I had was also made in India but maybe that’s it! it definitely feels like it might have been made in another factory

    I’m also working on the Waffle Loops Sweater and I never realised the squiggly cables were supposed to be offset! 🤦‍♀️ I blame the fact that the chart is oriented landscape in an otherwise portrait format… oh well. Too late to go back now.

    • @handmadebyflorence
      @handmadebyflorence  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I mean I don’t think it looks bad either way, I probably wouldn’t have fixed it but it would have been different on the front and the back and that would have annoyed me for sure!!

    Florence: "I have a lot of yarn to show now. You can leave this video if that's not something you like looking at."
    Me, who just spent $200 on yarn a moment ago and is easily influenced into buying more: "Yeah, that sounds like a good idea" 😅😂

    Funny, you said 'thank you for listening to me rambling for 45 minutes' and all I could think was 'oh wow, has that been 45 minutes already?' It didn't seem that long and suddenly the video was over.
