  • Air Source heat pump installation is straight forward, right? We take a deep dive into the Viessmann Vitocal 150-a air source heat pump internal unit and all the pipework and components which make up the plumbing and heating plant room.
A few mistakes made along the way didn't stop us from getting this fabulous piece of German engineering on the wall. Is this the BEST air source heat pump?

Thank you for sharing this interesting install. You mentioned that the property was highly insulated but very kindly showed the underfilled cavity.😉

Thanks. I found your own videos on the Vitocal really helpful 👍 Anything you would have done differently?

Great video, exactly what you said, a lot of us old sole traders out here waiting to take the step over to ASHP. Interesting to see how you are tackling it all. It looks like Viessman have taken a lot of the ball ache out of these installations by the components doing everything you need them to. I assume its an expensive lot of kit but it looks like they make an installers life a lot easier and that can only be a good thing for us all. Really smart looking job, well done. Look forward to follow up video, thanks.

Thank you very much. I definitely feel like the Viessmann Vitocal is superior in design to most. Definitely makes life easier. Cheers for watching.

Great video and thanks for sharing 👍 Just wanted to ask why you didn’t opt for the indoor unit that has combined cylinder and control unit in one? - the 151A i believe? Cheers

Thanks. Because it only holds 170 liters I believe and we had three bathrooms 👍👍

    Great video.
Can fill and flush valves be used on gas systems, too?
Have you ever used vuessmann vitotrol 200 indoor influence to work with the weather compensation?
Vaillant seem to recommend this with their ashp's and weather comp.

Viessmann have just released a vitorol specific for the heat pumps that works alongside the weather comp. I'm hoping to try it soon!

Great video, what temp do you design the rads for with it running on the same weather comp curve as the UFH?

@@stevewells2536 Thanks. So it's 40c at -2.3C . I have dialed it down on the heating curve slightly.
I was skeptical to be honest but seems to be ok so far. Wait till it's cold I guess! Be back with a blending Valve 🤣.

Thanks, I’ve got a similar job coming up, might try the same thing and not use a mixer 👍

    • @loving-plumbing
      @loving-plumbing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@stevewells2536 it worked out that way for me really because the underfloor heating the client requested was designed at the same temperature. In reality the underfloor heating should be more like 30c -2. Those aluminium panels at 150mm centers aren't the best. If I could have got 100mm centers in I would have probably used a mixer to lower the Temperature. Either that or upsize the rads even more. It's worth doing the maths 👍. Thanks.

Great money earner for some, but a total waste of money. Huge installation investment with little or any savings.
