Jimmy good tip I learned from the old man is put a clear hose on the brake bleeding nipple and pit it into a water bottle! No brake fluid on that fresh paint and floor!!!
wow that is such a convoluted method lol. You can reverse bleed the slave by opening the bleeder valve and pumping the fluid in with a hand pump (i used an oil can). You basically just fill the loop from the bottom up, usually works first try and doesn't require any sort of bleeding with the clutch pedal. I believe this is how the system was designed to be bled, though apparently a power bleeder works as well.
Silverstone Graphics I’ve done the hand pump method from below. It sucks. Period. The reservoir method is ages faster. Less messy. And is way easier to sit in the driver seat pumping while watching the bubbles. Something you can’t do with your method. Also. You cant be 100% sure that you got 100% of the air bubbles out where my method you can because you can see what’s going on in the bottle.
Homie, you need an air hammer for breaking loose tie rods and ball joints. Use a flat hammer tip like you do the regular hammer and stuff comes apart way easier with far less effort. Or for stuff you aren't gonna reuse, just put a pickle fork head on the air hammer, and remove joints at lightning speed. The pickle fork is pretty much guaranteed to destroy the boots on anything it touches.
My last E36, I was getting ready for my first drift day, and I bought a welded diff for it, new slave, and new transmission mounts. I spent all night (12 hours) doing everything by myself, swapping the diff, etc. The last thing I had to do was bleed the new slave, realized I had to do what Oakes did, so I did that, and when I went to test drive it, it wasn’t bled all the way. I ended up not making it to the drift event lol
Noticed at 12:10 the dog fully aired out😂 #jimmyoakes also b needs a rear oem spoiler surround thingy, get a syncro system and 4wd it! Keep her clean they are rocketing in value....
B Hall needs a hybrid pan! So much it’s shorter than the aluminum pan and the steel bottom portion helps a lot, if you hit it, it probably won’t bust open like the aluminum one

I deff destroyed my GTI VR6s aluminum oil pan on a sunoco fuel filler at the gas station .. that metal circle that sticks up outta the ground .. I wasn't paying attention . and It destroyed the thing! .. right of passage!
I pull all four bleed screws completely out of the calipers and fill the brake fluid. Grab a drink and wait 20 min with drain pans under each wheel. If the system will gravity bleed (some wont, but even a corner or two will help build pressure to pump bleed the others) its as good as a vacuum bleed. I came for the nisshonda but Love the BMW progress!
Screw those vac bleeder. Ive always used a water bottle filled half way with brake fluid and a vac hose ran from the bleeder nipple submerged in the brake fluid in the bottle acts as a fluid check valve. Only takes one person to do no more pumping and holding just crack the bleeder and pump the brakes till no more bubbles in the bottle I've used this method for year and work great every time
Jimmy you need to buy a pressure bleeder! At the shop I’m at it would take forever to bleed without it, but I can knock out a brake bleed solo in 30 minuted max🤘🏻
i blew my oil pan on my skoda 1.9tdi same golf drivetrain and suspension. had about a 20m long trail of black behind the car then nothing... slapped a new pan on it and it was just fine XD take in mind i stopped probably 40m after i blew the hole in it x)
Jimmy next time just pump the slave cylinder by hand until it's hard. Use a front wheel bearing dust cap drill a hole and use that on your hand while you pump it. If not you'll kill your palm
Maybe precision will work with you on a rebuild. They will do the best rebuild for you. Maybe also open up the turbo and see if there is something stuck in it.

You can make a vacuum bleeder out of a glass or thick walled plastic jug and a vacuum pump which you can salvage from an old ac or mini fridge.

Precision recommends -6 lines and no restrictor on journal bearing turbos. Turbos probably toast but just some food for thought.
