  • Thom Yorke has one of the most iconic voices in rock music today.
Not only can Radiohead write amazingly beautiful songs, but Yorke's voice is custom made to fit any vocal style they write.
But what actually makes Thom Yorke's voice so unique and how can you find the same sound?

I love his voice. And, surprisingly, it hasn't changed much, and now, at the age of 55, he can still sound like a 12-year-old girl) I was at The Smile concert last year, the third time I heard Thom Yorke live, and the third time I was stunned by how perfect and well-controlled his voice is. And can't not mention his performance, sometimes I just can't believe that he is a man and not God) But probably my favorite part of his vocals is that you can tell that his voice is almost the same as most of us, but so confidently and intelligently used that it really becomes one of the best vocals in modern music. He successfully competes and wins with those who have been given some incredible vocal data by nature, and it is very inspiring. I know I could sound exactly like him if I practiced. But of course I wouldn't be able to write the songs he wrote. After all, thanks God for Radiohead) And for The Smile too.

It seems like in certains genras such as grundge, some rock and melancolic songs in general having a more chaotic / self taught technique can work pretty well as imperfections work well with the style and carry emotions. Thom and Kurt to name a few

Your videos are awesome thank you! I thinkkkk I'm a baritone (kinda between Nick Cave and Frank Sinatra) and I'm definitely most comfortable with my chest voice, but I also like (and want to get comfortable with) going up into head voice a little bit like Thom does.
Thank you, these exercises are truly great and amazingly helpful, you're a legend 👍

I've taken a month of singing classes, yesterday I was making Ffffi and Nya exercises and it was hard to get the correct sound; then when I was going back home I remembered Thom Yorke, I've never realized how much control of his voice and his body he has, so I started looking up for some video explaining it, I have to say you made a really good educational video 👌👌, I'm suscribing because I will probably need your help a thousand more times!!

I am in no way tone deaf, but there is no correlation between the voice that I hear in my mind, and the voice that comes out of my mouth.
