I almost considered throwing out my R800 after corrosion that was much worse than the one in the video. But this video made me consider opening it up and scraping through the corrosion. I didnt touch the board since it looked pretty good. Works again now.
Hi There, Greetings of the day! This is a great video and very helpful. . I have a logitech R800 model presenter and in a similar condition. I was using it quiet well during my training programs. I stopped using the gadget for sometime and it was lying in my bag idle for a long time without the batteries inside. However, one day when I wanted to use it, I suddenly noticed that the pouch and the device were watery all over as if they were immersed in water. Not sure what it was but I guessed that it might be corroded inside and I was right Nevertheless, I did some basic cleaning with some tissue and cotton swabs but didn't want to unscrew it and void the warranty. I took it to the Logitech so called service centre but they refused to service it as they were dealing only with sales. Very disappointed, I brought it back home and thought of servicing it all by myself and unscrewed the gadget. I usually take several pictures of the gadget before proceeding with any further operation. But this time I unfortunately missed on the picture part. So when I opened the gadget completely, there is this component which looks very significant but during the dismantling process has got desoldered before I could take any pictures. . And now I am unable to locate or trace the spot to re-solder it again. Hence, I request you to, if and only possible, could you please make a similar video on Logitech R800 model. So that with your expertise and help I can fix mine. Thank you in advance. I eagerly look forward to your response. Have a blessed day!

So many interesting things you did Were off camera. Make sure all your manipulations show up on the camera.
The laser diode is not working although power is on. How can I test laser diode?
Do you have a video where you take apart the R800? Is the small LCD screen replaceable? Thank you 🤓
I don't have that model on hand for a teardown, if you have one you'd like me to teardown in a video let me know.
