What good is winning a battle when you can't win the war? They are few in numbers and their abilities are dependent on these spheres. They knew they wouldn't win against the Reapers so they went into hiding
Just a casual observation: IMHO ... The Leviathan are symbolic of bacteria, or in biological terms Kingdom 'Monera', the first life. Reapers are symbolic of viruses, neither living, not dead either! Furthermore, just like viruses rely on living host to replicate, similarly reapers rely on living populations to replicate themselves! Both Bacteria and Viruses are known to be very ancient, and the origin of both are not fully understood yet! Perhaps that explains their megalomania (in game)
You probably had your answers in four years but, they can shut down a reaper by mind control and by extent, in the entire galaxy throught their orb, i think, it's a good advantage there.
@@Geekezf FR, imagine if the allies were able to gather as many of those orbs for the battle of Earth. How many of those reapers in the final fight would’ve been shut down?
I think it's still feasible. They have power of the Reapers as they are today due to their organic components but pure machines they would be powerless to stop.
Xyrgra Actually they don't have all the powers of the reapers. For example they can't shoot metal beams :P because they're fully organic they have a more powerful mind than the reapers. Possible not as such with Harbinger though. And they're also vastly smaller than a capital ship reaper.
They never should have changed the Reapers origin, "we have no beginning, we have no end" to "lmao we're just robots made by ancient aliens" shit. They could still keep the reapers having their own origin be some electrical form of life that created its own platform to control organic races like they seemed to be in ME1. The leviathans could just be the first race they harvested.
After this DLC, listening to Leviathan and the story behind the reapers, it makes more sense now to pick the "Control" option now. It serves the leviathans purpose of protecting the lesser species, shepherd saves the galaxy, and no one, VI or AI, will be hurt.
I have finished this game 11 times exactly during the last 5 years and I am waiting to issue a new part, but Andromeda reveals the secret and where it came from so far and just after I got all the additions and finished this stage and I rushed to find this quickly😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
This means that before all cycles, all sentient species were essentially enslaved by the Leviathan species. How Andromeda came to be about Andromeda and not the fight against the Leviathan after the reapers had been dealt with is baffling.
4 ending possibles, and Bioware didn't have the guts to choose a canon one. But more of that they were trapepd : The control ending put the Leviathan in defeat if the entire galaxy + reapers are against them. Synthesis ending put the leviathan under Control. Destruct ending is the only one where they are an actual threat. The fourth where the cycle continue..well, the cycle continue.
@@Geekezf and thats why the only possible conclusion for this franchise is to follow the Desctruct ending, since Andromeda was a failure the had to return to our galaxy. Hyper for the new ME
My mind was blown when I first met the leviathan hearing the revelation that the reapers aren’t here to destroy or control the most advance species but to preserve all advance organic life as part of them or as data and that harbinger was not only the most powerful
Nope, Leviathan's are there to ensure that humanity doesn't learn about their true history/knowledge. Even in their current weaken state as humanity, the Protheans are still able to scare the shit out of the Leviathan's. It's also because they don't want that AI intelligence to wake up and alert Shepard. You may wonder about Javik, then you must know he's an offspring of Leviathan which has evolved on land.
@@redragongaming Javik isn't a leviathan, he's a prothean. The protheans didn't know about the leviathans. The protheans likely didn't even exist when the leviathans ruled the galaxy billions of years ago.
I used to be really confused at why the Leviathans just hid there and let the Reapers continue their work instead of trying something. But if you think about it, if the Reapers have been around for millions of years, that's still just peanuts against the age of the Universe. If the Leviathan race is even just a billion years old against the Universe's 14, that's 1000x the age of the Reapers. To them, this might literally just be the equivalent of the morbid fascination one might feel over watching the bathroom flood with water. Good for a few minutes of speculation, before you unclog the drain.
Pretty funny to see them attempt to land on the planet in a shuttle then send Shepard down in a diving bell without testing anything. Can we go underwater in this equipment? Who knows. Let's find out!
They probably leave the harvested ones out in the dark space where they can be preserved and only take the very first ones with them. "Leviathan reapers"
What they have is an incredible opportunity there the Reapers wiped out a lot of Life Time and Time Again but those ships crash there could be some of the lives lost to the Reapers
Sheppard should have won the war if the writers allowed it, it would have been icing on the cake. the potential the game had was squandered.... Fucking Casey Hudson...
Entire Plot of Mass Effect Andromeda could have been soo much better if storywriters took a look at this conversations. Preservation of Life. Soo good of a reason. it found a solution. but it never said its the only solution, and there is handful galaxy just few hundred years worth of travel time away. Nothing to species that is only active few years for every 50000 years in this galaxy. And since it would be boring to just fight Reapers in Andromeda too, how about AI coming up with different solution. There is already even handbook from Leviathan on how to enthrall "lesser" species to do their bidding, so just enslave whole galaxy. Even through the indoctrination or something. or how about by providing them with 'teaching' and technology, which would ultimate lead to their enslavement by the Reapers or something. Yeah i know there tons of holes in these ideas, but almost anything would have been better than the story we got and there is so much potential. Its so sad it was completely wasted.
Why does not the Leviathan refers to Sovereign as its true name : Nazara ? Considering they the "so called most advanced and superior race", that's strange.

How many can the ship withstand?
Well it’s a spaceship, so I’d say anywhere between Zero and One.

that leviathan literally thought "turn off" and shut down not just a reaper but one of the big dreadnaught class reapers...how in the fuck have the leviathans not one fully rebuilt their former empire and two defeated the reapers before now like holy shit they are scary
Maybe the ability has a long cooldown? 🤣
I hope we get to see them again in the new Mass effect game ;)
EA will pay their tribute in blood for the mess this game turned out to be.
the moment Shepart jumps, The Abyss movie starts, wow

Where the fuck did that come from?
In the surface part of this mission, the indoctrinated enemies fall from the sky, so they can land anywhere.
And apparently kill themselves.
Echo7099 Yeah, no idea why was it killed. Probably heart attack :D
This is kinda late, but don't you suppose that the brute simply threw it in the air and it landed on the Kodiak?
multumesc pentru acest upload, eu nu am facut misiunea asta ,m-a facut sa inteleg mai multe despre cum au aparut reaperii.
Not to mention that they are really, really old. ;D
So wait their meaning of coming out and fighting is staying in the same place while doing mind control shit through orbs... Okay
@@dylanbecerra4179 a lot?
Scumbag leviathans. Saying they couldn't go and end the cycle only to shortly after kill a reaper with their minds with no apparent effort at all.
The Variants are inside the "Sovereign like" Shell...
Shepard has a strong mind to be able to resist Leviathan
Hope that Javik and Leviathans and other new races are in ME4.
The Leviathan DLC is self explained at 12:25 though
Anyone else thinks it’s funny that the creators of the reapers sounds like Jigsaw?
ready for this again lol
After this DLC, listening to Leviathan and the story behind the reapers, it makes more sense now to pick the "Control" option now. It serves the leviathans purpose of protecting the lesser species, shepherd saves the galaxy, and no one, VI or AI, will be hurt.
None of that endings made sense.
I loved the ocean waves on the docks and only wish that area had been made into a multiplayer arena. (Even a fight underwater would have been great)
I wonder if mass effect 4 will have leviathans, like some boss or master mind behind all crimes :O
Might do now we are getting a true ME4 (:
I am still not sure if Leviathans think that Reapers are bad or good.
That Admiral Hackett guy.
Is that Lance Motherfuckin Henrikson?
Supremely dope.
Look, a vorlon!
Yeah, in a way the Leviathans are the Vorlons, and the Reapers are the Shadows. Both of them are bad news for the younger races.
Hey Cthulhu, it’s me, ya boi shepherd
y cant this be in the main story its self??!!!
But more of that they were trapepd :
The control ending put the Leviathan in defeat if the entire galaxy + reapers are against them.
Hyper for the new ME
@@gabrielemblem605 Let's hope you're right and it's the ending they choose..and ffs please this game be good. I'm not hype, i'm worried tough.
come on its EA what could go wro... I cant even say this ironically @@Geekezf
@@redragongaming
Javik isn't a leviathan, he's a prothean. The protheans didn't know about the leviathans. The protheans likely didn't even exist when the leviathans ruled the galaxy billions of years ago.
@@redragongaming you should replay the series to better understand the plot
@@MakSte one does not need a reason to replay the trilogy
Wait, how did he check the pressure inside the mech with the hatch open?
I fucking love these guys XL
Awesome voice mister leviathan
Down...down...in the deep
Omg, why was this a DLC?! O.o
Mass Effect Subnautica
I wouldn't call them holes - a scaffolding has "holes" too - but a good starting point
How Big is the Leviathan?
They are capable of destroying the reapers but they hid for billions of years?
I think maybe one on one but they at this point out numbered
What good is winning a battle when you can't win the war?
Sadly i never got to experience any of the dlc for Mass Effect. : /
Why does not the Leviathan refers to Sovereign as its true name : Nazara ? Considering they the "so called most advanced and superior race", that's strange.
They are using Shepard mind and words.

is sovereign good or bad? or neutral
Hmmmm.. I didn't know a leviathan learnt English growing up. I wonder which other languages it knows 🤔
İ dont know why but it is realy stupid the put this in the dlc it is realy important and good story about rippers origin
You found a plot hole created by Mass Effect 3's evisceration of what 1 and 2 were setting up thanks to IGN leaking 3's plot and causing a rewrite.
I'd google the original plot. It's much better and explains your question.
