@@kiaadams104 Your idea of the scientific advances in athletic pursuits is woefully narrow. Testing and measuring supplement the training and nutrition of boxers. Top boxers have dedicated teams which design training camps to elicit the best development leading to matches. About the only advantage the old timers had over today’s was that intangible we call “heart.” And that is something that Usyk has in spades!
Either him or holyfield as the cruiserweight goat and solidly a top 5-10 hw. Esp in an era of intense ducking and record padding he’s fought aa many tough fights as he could while undersized and on the road
I don't even compare him and Holyfield since in the 1980s the Cruiserweight limit was 190lbs rather than the 200lbs Usyk competed at. They were basically different divisions so it makes it easy to rank Holyfield as the greatest 190lb fighter and Usyk as the greatest 200lb fighter imo.
Stellar amateur career; Olympic gold; consolidation of belts at cruiserweight in opponents' back yards; consolidation the belts at heavyweight for the first time in 25 years (opponents' back yards), while being the smaller of his opponents; unreproachful and true boxing leader. He's in the top 10 for sure.
Usik is not a home boy. He goes to his opponent's territory and there he is. He always wins when everyone is against him: experts, bookmakers, judges and the public. They tell him: no, this is impossible, but he does it! That's why he is Oleksand the Great!
Comparing across generations is tough, and how athletes compare to their peers at the time should be factored in. That out of the way, prime 1960s Ali was untouchable in more ways than one - unbeatable and virtually unhittable with superhuman reflexes. He was freakishly exceptional, gifted with natural talent. I'd say he's cemented as THE GOAT. That said, Usyk certainly will go down as one of the GOATs.
You can compare Usyk to anyone in boxing history and he will always have an arguement. He is on the same table as Duran, Ali, Frazier, Sugar Ray Robinson, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Tyson etc etc...
I remember watching the WBSS. The Briedis fight was sooo good! I was expecting the Gassiev fight to be a true 50-50 fight but Usyk completely outclassed him. It's a shame we never got to see Gassiev fight Briedis, but anyways Usyk is definitely an ATG. He is now the 3rd man to be Undisputed in two weight classes, in the 4 belt era. His resume is probably the closest, in impressiveness, to Canelo's
He is. He also isn't really caught with the whole industry tailored style of ducking: contract negotiations. He fights with less reward, his fights gets announced and they happen, no drama, no drug test dispute, no silly mind games...etc and HE WINS. Undisputed twice and well rounded.
One thing to admire is his dedication. Sacrifices for success, down to earth and follower of God. Having a dedicated team and be focused on your goal. Fury tactis didnt work because Usyk was focused on the Match, not Fury per se
What makes Usyk’s undefeated and undisputed title so much more impressive is that he was beating up guys way bigger than himself. Realistically, how many heavyweights throughout history would’ve been able to beat Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua? Less than 10 I think
Mike Tyson big respect on him but really he wasn't even that good compare to other top level fighter. He had this spectacular style with a lot speed and power that's why hes a people's champ
@@Psalm51-ql2cn You know that Mike is rated higher than holyfield? There is direct evidence Holyfield took steroids. So his two wins vs Tyson are no contest. Holyfield never beat Mike. Thats why Mike is in the top 5 for sure.
IMO, the Fury win is the kind of achievement that secures a fighter immediate ATG status regardless of anything that happens (or doesn't happen) for the rest of their career. Similar to Frazier's win over Ali, Spinks' over Holmes, or Basilio's over Robinson.
Usyk in top 10 without any doubts. He won everything what is possible to win.The only downside in his resume that he started late as professional, his opponents list quite short.
Absolutely, record speaks for itself and not in just the pro's he's a decorated amatuer, olympic gold medalist, cleaned out his own division at cruiser before moving up, he could have just stayed there and kept scoring easy wins instead within 3 fights into his HW debut he took on Joshua and his first three fights painted a whole different opinion about his capacity to hang with the best, but he got dialed in like i knew he would and bested Joshua twice, getting undisputed in a weight division with no ceiling is bonkers, not taking away from guys like Crawford look at the size disparage when he was in the ring with Fury, when you fighting the biggest baddest dudes, there's only one thing that can win you fights in this division, thats the ability to outbox your opponent ... and he's been doing just that.

Yea, maybe. I can also suggest like defending the title for a few years or something. But that's going down the rankings, not up. He beat the top ones already. And he is almost 40 now, so he wont keep belts for long.
One thing that doesn't help his legacy is that his cruserweight opponents' wins "aged badly" because all those guys, kind of, has been on decline since then. And it's not Usyk's fault, at the time when he fought them they were very strong guys, especially Briedis and Gassiev.
Definitely top 10. His accomplishments, skill level and champion heart are overwhelmingly impressive. He does everything well and has no true weaknesses. @@wolczo7321 bruh... AJ and Fury dont have the conditioning or the movement to keep up with heavyweights of the past. i dont care how many gatorades or new energy drinks or supplements they take.
David Haye
Carl Thompson
🤣@@klsecond5755🤣
A future hall of famer, and two levels above Andre Ward
Comparing across generations is tough, and how athletes compare to their peers at the time should be factored in. That out of the way, prime 1960s Ali was untouchable in more ways than one - unbeatable and virtually unhittable with superhuman reflexes. He was freakishly exceptional, gifted with natural talent. I'd say he's cemented as THE GOAT.
That said, Usyk certainly will go down as one of the GOATs.
And he's also World and European champion
He is defenitely the best in this century (so far)
well put.
You can compare Usyk to anyone in boxing history and he will always have an arguement. He is on the same table as Duran, Ali, Frazier, Sugar Ray Robinson, Mayweather, Pacquiao, Tyson etc etc...
He was an all time great already at cruiserweight. He’s a bonafide legend now.
He could be this generation's GOAT. He cleaned house in both weight classes with a straight face like Anton Chigurh from No Country for Old Men.
The thing i absolutely hate about your videos is that they’re not longer!! I love the content man, Keep it up!
One thing to admire is his dedication. Sacrifices for success, down to earth and follower of God. Having a dedicated team and be focused on your goal. Fury tactis didnt work because Usyk was focused on the Match, not Fury per se
He is the Messi of boxing
What makes Usyk’s undefeated and undisputed title so much more impressive is that he was beating up guys way bigger than himself. Realistically, how many heavyweights throughout history would’ve been able to beat Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua? Less than 10 I think
A lot of them actually- you can find 10 of them only in 1960s-1970s era.
He’s already the best heavyweight of this generation without the fury rematch imo. That win should not have been a split decision
Yes. One of the goats.
Mike Tyson, Ali and Usyk.
thats crazy to put mike tyson above someone like lennox lewis, mike is the most overrated fighter in the history of fighting sports.
Mike Tyson big respect on him but really he wasn't even that good compare to other top level fighter. He had this spectacular style with a lot speed and power that's why hes a people's champ
Mike Tyson is a vicious puncher and a great entertainer but he is not one of the greats.
@@Psalm51-ql2cn You know that Mike is rated higher than holyfield? There is direct evidence Holyfield took steroids. So his two wins vs Tyson are no contest. Holyfield never beat Mike. Thats why Mike is in the top 5 for sure.
@@softpianomusic7773Lewis fought an old Mike Tyson after prison. I suppose Tyson is better than rjj then too?
Usyk is the greatest of all time in my eyes.
His record proves it. He’s clocked boxing!
He's not just a generational talent he is an all time greAt one
USYK is a GREAT NOW , Cossack Power
Imagine prime Mike Tyson vs prime Usyk. They would run a marathon in that ring
I think mike obliterates anyone he’s the same size with
Usyk destroys him easy imo
@@jaranis9273 usyk is 4 inches taller than mike lol, pretty much the same height difference as he had against aj and fury
@@jaranis9273 Mike is 178 cm and Usyk is 191cm which is each same as Ali ..
@@Ronga_XilandiUsyk is 1.91m
he will be rembered as one of the best of all time.
Even before the rematch I see him as Top 10 All Time Great. If he reunifies after that and does a defense or two he might even reach Top 5.
Quality content, thank you bud!
The facts back it up. It’s as simple as that. He is superhuman!
I would put his resume up against Pacs and Mayweathers as far as accomplishments in boxing.
I'd love to see Usyk against Joseph Parker.
he is the #1 in any list! Nobody else got so many achievements as he...All Time Great!
HE IS G.O.A.T WITHOUT A DOUBT PERIOD 👍🏿👍🏿👍🏿
IMO, the Fury win is the kind of achievement that secures a fighter immediate ATG status regardless of anything that happens (or doesn't happen) for the rest of their career. Similar to Frazier's win over Ali, Spinks' over Holmes, or Basilio's over Robinson.
Top 5 to 8 his accomplishments speak volumes
All time great, considering the fact that back on they boxers were much smaller.
The white Holyfield 😅
An all time great - ❌
The all time great - ✔️
I’m sorry but no. I consider Usyk an all time great but there are many champions that I put over Usyk.
@@Highonlife24 👍
@@Highonlife24yeah think so too. For me too 5 but Ali, Lewis and Foreman are greater than him. But if he defends his title a couple of times he still can climb up.
@@sabesabes12345 Exactly, it’s just that he’s only been a heavyweight for a short while. He’s already propelled himself to the stratosphere, he just needs to beat all the other competitors.
@@Highonlife24 agree. If he beats Tyson a second time, maybe Joshua a 3rd time and then hrgovic akd Kabayel, then he is definitely in the top 3 conversation. Up there it is just a question of preference. I will still consider Ali to be the greatest of all time, no matter what.
Definitely an all-time great
I think the question is - if that's not enough, then what is? What else he is supposed to do to be considered an all time great?
Beat all the top rank contenders in the division. He’s beaten two.
Sorry three. He’s beaten 3.
Yea, maybe. I can also suggest like defending the title for a few years or something.
But that's going down the rankings, not up. He beat the top ones already. And he is almost 40 now, so he wont keep belts for long.
Better question is if he is p4p top 20 ATG or p4p top 15 ATG.
Usyk is truly an all time great. Look at where he came from and he had some tough fights. You would have to say he is up there as one of the greats
One thing that doesn't help his legacy is that his cruserweight opponents' wins "aged badly" because all those guys, kind of, has been on decline since then. And it's not Usyk's fault, at the time when he fought them they were very strong guys, especially Briedis and Gassiev.
I'd say Usyk is currently #1 P4P and due to his achievements can be the greatest of all time with everything he has done in the sport.
Well said! Couldn't agree with you more
Definitely top 10. His accomplishments, skill level and champion heart are overwhelmingly impressive. He does everything well and has no true weaknesses. Assuming he fights Fury next and beats him, he will have literally no potential opponent left on the horizon really worthy of fighting. When all is said and done he might be close to top 5 of all time.
if he gets a few more defenses under his belt he will be in the goat conversation
Of course he is an all time great. He's completely cleaned up a generation in 2 weight divisions. Top 10 for me already.
I dont think you can argue against him being an all time great, whether or not you have him towards the top or bottom of that list, he is still 100% on the list of all time greats
He is definitely in top 5
Not the Greatest of all time, but definitely the Greatest in this Era.
Impossible to judge. But nowadays, he's cleaned the stable.
one thing you didnt include is his amateur career is probably his most impressive feats
when he was more of a begginer he was losing fights but once he gained more experience, he hasnt lost 1 fight since 2009, he was an amateur untill 2013
he was an olympic champion, amateur world champion and semi pro world champion,
he beat the likes of: beterbiev, clemento russo, Mahammadrasul Majidov, badou jack, Lenier Peró, Nistor, Joyce, tervel pulev, sergiy deryvanchenko, arsen goulamirian, ronald gavril and many more
Yes he's an all time great. No question about it.
Usyk is the GOAT, dancing around the ring.
Usyk enters in a special list of the best fighters in history. He, as already conquered boxing as an amateur and professional. Fighters like usyk are special his skills are not regular to see in a fighter, its an art to watch him fighting.
You tell us. Is someone an alltime great for beating 4-5 heavyweights ? If usyk is an all time great then vlad klitschko is an eternity great for defending his belts 11 years
Just got into boxing how would u compare Mike and Usyk
The question isn’t is he an ATG the question is is he The GOAT, is he the CW GOAT or is he the HW GOAT?
Of course. He will go down in history as
Gd breakdown mate... the way this blokes gone through 2 divisions is insane!
At 39 Briedis is still dangerous (congrats Jai!!), but to give away 40lbs to an unbeaten giraffe!!
Shows how physically and mentally conditioned Usyk is...
I don't wanna do the era vs era thing... but hes the best of this era...l rekn he beats Fury in a return, hes met him now.. always has plans and angles...
Fury has to improve...can he(?).
As a fury fan, yes usyk is top 20 all time greatest list possibly top 10. That lead right handed south paw style with the pendulum step up is barely understood outside of Ukraine and parts of Russia
There will never be a greaatest of all time, there will the magnificents of all time! They had their time and competition according to their fans. For sure Usyk is on thet list!!!
He beat Fury so hard people say Usyk was robbed even though he won.
And it was Fury in his best shape and form ever, according to everything I've heard for the last 3 weeks.
If Fury in his best shape and form had won this fight we'd be hearing how he's better than Ali, Mike Tyson, and everyone else.
Yes. One in a Million!
One of the greatest.
Equally goat! Cleaned out the greatest heavyweights of our generation in an era of giants.
He jumped a weigh div and is on both undisputed he is the most skilled boxer of all time hands down
He’s an all time great 3 times over. One time for his amateur accomplishments another for his accomplishments at CW then again for HW
Is usyuk a all time great, Now ? Yes but to be greatest which is a feat unknown has done is clean your division while undisputed.
Simply put " fuck up everybody in front of you'

This was an all time fight, but my god people are overreacting
He’s a goat in two weight divisions I feel like we could make a case for top 10 or 15 all time
he d slice thru Ali and Tyson like knife thru butter, get real man… itd be like a superhuman from the future if he went back in time and fought those people in their primes…jesus relinquish this patriarchal legend shit….
Bit of a strange question any1 whos unified the belts has always gone down as a great particularly in heavy weight (maybe not light heavy/cruzer .historicaly unified champs go down as greats
if he gets wins against fury 2, zhang, parker and kabayel he for sure is a top 5 heavyweight of all time
Be ready for the dustiest oldheads in the comments regurgitating the same old fighters as always. Usyk is well on his way to GOAT status
Simply the best
He's on the brink of top 10 hw of all time, he needs a couple more wins though. Fury and aj are great wins. Tyson, ali, holyfield, foreman etc have done more than him though. He should fight the winner of dubois and hrgovich next. Unless dubois wins, then he could fight kabayel
Usyk and Crawford are the best of the best when it comes to p4p excellence 🙌
He gives every heavyweight a problem
