The ship's navigation system has been damaged, leaving it stranded in the middle of the sea. After five days, the ship finally manages to send out an SOS signal, but help won't arrive for another 24 hours. To make matters worse, there's a killer on board, as well as a strange oceanic monster on the loose. Our character must survive these final 24 hours, facing intense chase sequences, jump scares, and other supernatural events. I know its alot, and its very complex but you can slowly build by learning new systems. All the best!
I'm also starting to learn unreal to make a game. I have experience with Blender and 3D modeling/texturing and the most difficult thing I'm facing (so far) is level design and gameplay mechanics. I think it's something you think a lot about and plan it or you do a lot of trial and error, or a mix a both I don't know :D Good luck with your journey and wishing you all the best!
That's true, I'm struggling too, but with patience, we can make it work. The mechanics sometimes drive me crazy. You just spent hours for something that doesn't work in the end, but that's good for learning and will not be wasted
I like the concept of cruiseship-horror, maybe something like cluedoish vibes into it? Like theres a murderer in the ship and you gotta solve mysteries to figure out who it is.
Just like you I too have gotten into learning unreal, also my goal is to create my dream horror game because the horror genre is what I like the most also its the most easy to implement as an indie
You can do it brother! Make time to create and thrive!
Appreciate it

By the way, if you want to collaborate, I'm a 3D artist, I can help with assets
