Animating is hard, don’t say I didn’t warn you.
I wanted to do a tutorial on this style of animation in Minecraft because I’ve been using it a lot recently. It’s probably not the easiest way to do it, though. Nor the best-looking. Still, I think it’s pretty cool.

@@Fa1seP0sitive I might assume that display entities are way less laggy than armor stand that does have to calc collisions and still render even if it is invisible

@Kelly-to5wl Basically there's a new command, I believe it's a new command anyways, that allows you to basically create a projection of a block that you can manipulate any way you want

Love seeing this method being used again, remember seeing something like this made by McMackenstein back when datapacks were pretty new
Man seeing the stop motion reminds me when I used to build/map design for a big server & I figured out how to use command signs (way back in the day) to load & deload schematic files to create stop motion animations, I still remember making a massive draw bridge & swinging door with it, was so much fun to make back then with such limited tools.

Blockbench is really good for modeling. I use it for two, years now, but I didn't know anything about animating blocks. Awesome tutorial

@@jayjaymike1841 Block displays. they can be moved, rotated, and display all blocks. as well as text displays, and probably another one too.

Omg welcome back ♥️ I saw your videos when I was a kid and got inspired for commandblocks and datapacks
Instead of making it so you have to kill the armor stand every time the animation starts and ends, you can make the fill command with barrier blocks since they are invisible and can clip just fine through armor stands, so that you can keep the original armor stands and make the whole mechanism much easier, smoother and less clunky.
i already had a headache but tbh it was worth making the headache worse to watch this masterpiece of a video.
As a veteran that dealt with command blocks the very update that they were added...
1.20 is an absolute blessing with their new entities specifically made for this kind of thing. Display, text, and other entities are just lifesavers for people like us.
_Then again... if you were experienced with these things, it really shouldn't take you around an hour to do it. Eventually you can become really, really fast at making animations. But then again, it never changes the fact that they suck.

iIrc with the new 1.20 experiments, this will become easier since now you can actually spawn blocks as entities and rotate, rescale and do some other things with them.

since Armor stands have the motion data so you can use that to Move it but not rotate so nice!

honestly, this doesn't even look hard, it just looks like a long process. i'm not one to judge though, i barely managed to make a blender animation without a tutorial

A tip: if you dont want to do commands you can always use Create mod, great video nontheless!

The way they did the bedrock was a Picture by Picture or Building it Then taking a screenshot for every block/row

Hi! I would suggest using animated java(blockbench plugin to export models and animations to vanilla minecraft!) for these stuff. I got some examples on my channel if you wanted to see some samples
