Mmmh this kinda sus. I mean who want to put an unverified file on their PS4? The Arduino IDE is very simple to install so why would you want to save time by ignoring this step?
That is true, but the Arduino IDE isn't what makes other guides less "sus", it is the fact that code is not compiled, but unless your verifying the code line by line, this method really isn't any different than following a guide where you blindly install code. I've even seen other guides of people using nodemcu flasher to upload a precompiled binary, this method is exactly like that, except skipping the need to download nodemcu flasher or the binary. There is one big difference, I'm not a trusted actor in the scene, which is fair. But I've been working on Arduino projects for 6 years, have been building my channel for close to 5, have released a lot of open source Arduino projects and libraries, what would be my end game here? Throw away my reputation to try mess with a few ps4s users? Doesn't seem very likely! I actually raised an issue on the GitHub page last night providing the info to stooged on how to set this up, so they could compile and host the binary but they deleted the issue, so I'm guessing they are not interested.
I will definitely give a try when my ESP32-S2 Mini arrives! Thanks for for care about make things easier to people who know nothing about arduino stuff, hugs from Brazil 🇧🇷
If you want to flash a custom host by a Dev, use NodeMCU-Pyflasher, somepeople still struggle using that as it does have options, but this method will give everyone who owns a S2 a chance to JB their PS4.
So when you have done this what can your console do that it couldn't before please, just a one line answer would be fine as I dont have a console but I'm curious, or is perhaps an 'in joke' and not meant for a Gen Xer dunno...cheers !

Is your board one of the compatible ones on the GitHub? The esp32-s2 can be programmed via USB directly (USB wires connected directly to the esp32-s2 chip) or via a USB to serial converter, if your esp32-s2 version uses a USB to serial converter it won't support USB emulation and I assume the exploit won't work

@@omargdottin I tried to connect to mine with it plugged into the computer, as well as the PS4, bu no new wireless networks show up.

You can install Linux, some emulators and other homebrew. I'm sure there are some pirating reasons too, but I haven't looked into it
