This is the villa we stayed in www.villakalyps...
The couple that own it are so helpful and really helped to make our stay incredibly stress free and relaxing.
Disclaimer: We have not been paid to talk about anything in this vlog
wow as a Greek, I'm glad you had a great time in my country!!! so you are welcome whenever you want to come again!! Greece has thousands of islands and other parties all over the country, with wonderful landscapes, to choose for next summer or winter holidays maybe ;)
Hello Sam and Nicki from Greece!!!Thank you Sam for so many nice words about your trip in Greece, is important for us!!!!Love you!!!!!!
So happy you made a video about hair removal issues!!!
Very very nice catch up with you and your lifes! Loved that vlog! If you want to or have the time to I would be happy to see more of this kind of chitchat vlogs! you two are a biiiiig inspiration to me because you've accomplished so much in your lifes so far and as Nic said - you (seem to be) are happy :)
Also had a good laugh in the moment where Sam was talking about the accessories and Nic said in this utterly hypnotized way "shoes..."! Seemed like she was already thinking of a new pair she might have seen in the last time :D
Very informative! I've often wondered how it all worked. Thanks for sharing and Sam I'm so glad you got to have an amazing break with your new guy!
This was fantastic. We get to see both of your personalities. Love the chit chat update format.
hahaha! This was brilliant! Love you two just hanging out like this.
Omg!!!!!!! It took me years to find this channel!! Because this is where my makeup history started out. watching you two lovely! Ladies!! Do makeup tutorials and from than on I love doing makeup!! So thank you 🙏 two ! My channel isn’t the greatest but hey I love watching others do makeup reviews and tutorials 👌🏼😇😊❤️
yay to vlogs and chatty videos, I love them! and yes, years ago I firmly decided that my first paycheck will automatically go to a pack of laser hair removal sessions
I have one of those at home laser hair removal thingybobs which is really good but I always forget to do it and never finish the treatment- you've inspired me to get it out again haha! You both look fab too! xx
Sam, be careful with those interdental brushes. You'd think that you are meant to use them every day, but the thing is that they may cause "black holes" (as per my dentist), which are openings between teeth. You are suppossed to use the thinnest of those brushes every three or four days. I had those black holes and they didn't look good, let me tell you, especially in the front teeth. Overuse causes the gums to contract (if that is the right word for it) and it takes a *very long time* for the gum to go down or up (depending on whether the holes appear in the upper/lower teeth) and cover the hole again. Trust me, I also had braces, so I know you can get a little carried away with the cleaning. I hope this helps!
I am a aesthetic therapist and I perform laser hair removal. The hair follicle will only be damaged in the anagen stage of the hair growth cycle. (The anagen stage is the growing stage where the hair is attached to the dermal papilla and blood supply). Not every hair is in this stage of hair growth hence you will need more than one session.
I'm an esthetician and I agree, I think the bumps on the arms are keratosis pilaris. Its super common and I was able to rid my arms of it by exfoliating everyday with the little shower gloves. Do it everyday and it will go away. You don't have to buy any fancy/expensive creams :)
Sam, your makeup is gorgeous in this video! I love this cheek/blusher situation!
ohhh I've be in that island once and it was really nice. You must have been in need of really relaxed holidays to find out this!Even us from Greece hardly know the existence of this island!
Halki is a beautiful island indeed!!! This treatment sounds great!
Would love an update on this.. I have pcos and am really thinking of doing this xx
Thank you for the tip about the island, I fell in love with it, might be our next summer's holiday destination with my husband! ♥
I had my bikini line done and I cannot believe how effective the treatment was. Love it! The underarm will take more than 6 sessions though.
KEEP VLOGGING!!!! We all love the day to day stuff, we are all just naturally curious people and love to know what you have been up to. Helps us forget the boring day we have had LOL xx
X
I tried laser hair removal on my face a few times and now have a discoloured patch on either side of my face. When I asked the lady about it she said "we did mention there may be side effects." I definitely don't recommend it!!! As an esthetician myself I recommend waxing or electrolysis, they're so much safer!!
Sam, the big purple teeth cleaner things are mostly used for braces, the gaps between each 'track' if you will haha had braces myself for 5 years 😖x
This was really helpful and informative, because I have been thinking about getting treatments. Thank you, ladies for another great vid!
OOhhh you went to one of the most beautyfull islands!!!!!! Im so so happy that you had great time in my country!!!!!!!!
I loved the bit about indiscriminating accessories! Haha! I feel like I love em even more now. You guys are wonderful! x
With the darker skin tones the laser hair removal is a lot more painful, because there is not only the hair which has a lot of pigments but the whole skin. That's also why with darker skin tones it needs a lot more sessions, because you can't turn the laser as high as with lighter skin tones, since you would be burning the skin.
But after all, it is just an amazing feeling not to have to shave nor wax anymore. Like it so much when you talk about different topics, girls! Thanks for your videos!
I've had about 15 sessions for my underarms, 15 for legs and about 6 for my bikini with the same laser as you. Unfortunatley my hair still grows, not as much as pre-laser but still there's quite a lot. I'm extremley pale with very dark hair, but the truth is that even a tiny hormonal problem is destroying the effect. I have to say I'm disappointed and sad because I think it was a waste of money and a lot of pain (especially last few sessions... ouch!).
I hope you're experience will be much better and permanent! :)
Please keep us updated on this! Specially after your 4th session onwards!!!! I'm really thinking about doing this in the bikini line as well!
Please will you give an update on your laser hair removal!!! Would be so helpful! Xxx
Love nic's make up here when she's talking about the experience
Wow that price sheet! It's so much cheaper there! I've looked into this, the only thing keeping me back is the price, it's like $2000 here! All the women in my mom's family have dark facial hair, it's such a nightmare to keep up with.
Such a coincidence. Me and my boyfriend phill started getting laser hair removal about 2 months ago! I get a Hollywood and phill gets his back done. It's absolutely amazing! I noticed a significant difference after just one treatment and after the second I'm gobsmacked!!! Definitely getting my armpits done next!
Need to have it done multiple times due to the rates of hair growth. Not all hair grows at the same time. I've had full body done, and certain areas are quite painful; also if the hair is more dense and/or more coarse, it can be more painful. I had it done on my face before I did full body, and it was the best thing I ever did for myself! :)
Bloody hell, I am Greek and I didn't know you can find accomodatrion like this in such remote islands like Halki. I have always wanted to go to Symi so maybe next year I'll combine both! Thanks for the tip Sam, the apartment looks top notch!!!
Nic could you please do a tutorial with the eye look you have on in this video PLEASE??? I LOVE IT!
hey i am from GReece!!!we have amazing islands and other beautiful places...glad you had a wonderful time there!!!
feeling so proud that you enjoyed your vacation in Greece as if you stayed in my house :)) (yes i know most people will comment about the laser treatment and i don't mind) love from Greece!!
for the fair/ white hair u can go for electrolysis . i have been doing laser for over a year now but really love the results its enough that i only have to go once every two months even if its not gonne be permanent better than waxing every 3 weeks
Omg this treatment sounds amazing!
Please do follow up on this for us. I've done electrolysis in the past with limited success. I - and I imagine many other women - would love to know how well this works for you. Thank you so much for sharing it. Lots of love!
I did the Laser-thing with 8 treatments and I was without hair a few month. After a year everything was like before!
Talk about perfect timing! My girlfriends and I have been seriously thinking about getting laser hair removal too. Thanks to sharing Pixiwoos :)
Great video! Something I really want done professionally. I had an at home IPL machine but it wasn't very effective and far more tedious.
So glad you like my country,we love you here.
Lucky you if you had no pain both times. I had laser treatment once on my legs and never went back cause it hurt so much. Went to a very reputable place in downtown Chicago and they used the gel and everything. There was no side effect and yes, it didn't hurt at all after..but during?? Torture! Definitely felt like a hot rubber band snapping my skin for 30 minutes straight to do both my legs. The ankles & back of the knees were the worst.
Thanks for the info girls.. Happy belated birthday Nic xx
warmest greetings from Athens! so glaaaaaaaaad you enjoyed your stay there! hope you pay us a visit again!
This was actually really interesting to watch! :)
Thank you sooo much for sharing your experiences!! Please keep us updated! XOXO
Nic, your eye makeup looks GORGEOUS in this video :D
I have been considering this for a long time. I have embarrassing facial hair that is so hard to maintain. This is going to happen.
Thought this was really interesting . Looking forward to an update
I was on Rhodes for vacation and this is such a lovely place in the world. :) Loved it!
you're so lucky that you experienced no pain! I'm currently having laser done on my face and as I'm very fair and the hair is very dark the pain is excruciating :( x
Hii there. I was thinking of laser hair removal too for my face but I'm abit scared. Is it really painful? And I've also heard that some people have been scarred because of the laser. Have you experienced any scarring? I hope u don't mind me asking these questions. xx
these chatty videos are definitely my favourite :) x
Please do updates to let us know if it grows back.
I've done laser hair removal to my legs, and it was the best thing I've ever done!! I am a middle eastern so I had realy thick and black hair on my legs, and after 6 sessions the hair stopped growing, it's been two years since the last session and my legs are still smooth and hairless 😊
My hair growth is mental, I don't have it on my face etc, I just shave my legs, and within 24 hours I have prickles on my legs, underarms, within 24 hrs again, I've always contemplated it! This has now edged me on haha thanks!! Xxx
don't shave, wax! I used to shave my armpits twice a day, now after couple years of strictly waxing i have them done once every month or so.
Angelique Rossau ah that sounds heaven! Once a month! May have to try that, thank youu xx
Please can you tell me where Sam's and Nic's watches are from!!!!
hair grows in cycles, but not at the same time, which is why you have to have multiple sessions as the laser may only catch a certain number of hairs when they are at the right part of the cycle to be affected by the laser.
I had 8 sessions (6 initial and 2 booster) of laser hair removal on my underarms and I'm really loving the results, finished treatment more than 2 years ago. There are still hair growing in my armpit (less than 10) but compared to what I had before it was a really huge difference. I should just get a booster shot/treatment to get rid of the other hair.
All greek islands are amazing and u can find places like that everywhere
I've done it two and a half years ago and since then they haven't grown back!
Sam you looking great I love your makeup!
I had my upper lip lasered, took 10 sessions and I'm not even kidding. Not painful but my face stayed red for at least an hour after. I'm not generally sensitive like that either.
I have it done on my face I have really dark hair and it has been a problem since puberty I love my results I have 4 treatments left and I would say 80 percent is gone and even the regrowth is lighter and finer on the face certain areas hurt like upper lip and chin rest of face is ok anyway for the fist time I feel pretty the pain is worth it after my face I'm going to do my arms it's expensive but
Totally worth it
I get this done and its extremely painful (and i have a high pain threshold)- i have really dark hair and really pale skin. My skin also swells, get ingrown hairs from it and i feel like i'm super sunburnt afterwards. :( you ladies are lucky!
Sam is right - already after 2nd time you would not see the hair grow...BUT even after completing 6 times it will not mean that your hair will never grow back. If you stop laser - it will grow back the same way it used to be. So it is not a permanent solution. You always have to go and do laser removal, the only difference - you will require a session once every 2 -3 weeks (depending on the hair).
Nicola, lovely make up and hairstyle xxxx
More videos on this channel! I love it
How about a Follow up?
Is that the Royal Artillery company grounds behind City Road?
You two look so so beautiful in this video, I love it :)
I definitely want to get my bikini line done!! I'm gonna try out the at home kit first though :)
laser hair removal is actually a lot better than i thought it would be. i'm really bad with pain, but it really wasn't that bad. anyplace you go, though, you should make sure that they put a gel on your skin BEFORE they do it. i've had it done with and without the gel, and the one without hurts more and has long lasting redness. they give you a cream to put on it afterwards, but it still hurts and swells slightly. ask if they use a gel during the procedure, if they don't then i wouldn't recommend it.
I go to a dermatology clinic to get mine done. They recommend that you use the gel, but they don't force you to do it if you don't want to. When I went in the first time I wasn't sure about the gel because I thought it would feel weird (and it kind of does), but the lady was very persuasive. She basically said that if I didn't have the gel she would have to turn the power down and the procedure would not be as effective.
babablacksheepdog
see they didn't even offer that to me as an option! i don't think they turned it down either. the other place was much better and much more effective. both places were dermatology clinics, but one was much better than the other
loverofmythology I know, I've been to 2 clinics thus far. The first one was not very good. They charged too much and were not as thorough or as professional (they didn't even tell me about the gel). The place I go to now was recommended by a friend, and I'm a lot happier with them. They are very professional, and very thorough. They actually offer a free maintenance session within 3 weeks of your main session, in case any small hairs were missed. They also have different offer packages, so for example, getting the legs-underarms-bikini package comes in cheaper than if you were to pay for those 3 items individually. My advice is to search for a large commercial clinic, and avoid the smaller places, because they tend to overcharge, and their quality of service is not as high. Also make sure that there are some actual dermatologists attached to the clinic, and it's not just a scam.
babablacksheepdog
yah the second place i went to also had package deals, and it was MUCH better. i've also only gone to places where there was a groupon offered, otherwise i wouldn't have been able to afford it
With most of the lasers I have previously worked with I hav always used gel..but with the Light Sheer Duet you do not need to as it has suction and doesnt actually touch the skin.
On the small hand piece we always use gel.
My partner built a website for a leading laser place in our city so he got laser hair removal and tattoo removal done there. The tattoo is pretty much gone, I don't even notice it anymore. He got laser done under his arms and on the top of his chest. It stayed smooth for a long time but it has grown back now, that being said it is a lot thinner. I got IPL done and it sucks!!!! So definitely go laser. I am happy to stick to waxing right now as the laser upset my skin a bit haha
Nic, you might have Keratosis Pilaris on the back of your arms-- use a body lotion with an alpha hydroxy acid and it should help greatly :)
Does the laser have a name. I am in Canada, so would be interested to know if somewhere offers the same laser treatment.
That's right Sam ! I got pretty medium/dark squinting and for me it's just an horrible pain even with all the creams... So I got to change for an another machine that is for dark/asian people !
I recommend Altec CoolGlide for dark skin. Been having laser for about 11 years on my face due to PCOS. 90% reduction. I now go once or twice a year
Thank you ! I've never heard about it !
MakeupLauu
Hiya
The Light sheer duet which I used in the vlog is less painfull then most lasers and very effective on your skin type. If you want anymore info just let me know.
I think it depends on what place your doing the laser if it hurts a lot or not. I've got it done and it hurt like hell, but that's probably because it was a very sensitive place.. but yeah I wouldn't say it doesn't really hurt because it does. Also it probably depends if you can handle a lot of pain or not.
waxing must be hell for you then.
Does your hair have to be grown in completely when you get it done?
Thank you for this video, I am convinced, booking my appointment x
How would you compare the laser hair removal from your bikini area to waxing? I've had many of Brazilian bikini waxes, which parts of that hurt like all hell. Would you say the pain from the laser is worse, not as bad, or about the same?
So what happened guys? Did it work?
You want to try SOPRANO ICE Laser Hair Removal which is completely painless, no elastic bands or heat its amazing
I had mine done at Amanda Pierce Aesthetics and after 2 sessions underarm I shave every 10 days 👍
Treats all skin tones including tan skinned and even does fair hair and red hair too :-) xxx
Love these chats!! More please! :)
Funny hearing and reading that many people felt pain or had a pinch feeling or else. That means a) the machine is one of the older ones b) the lady who does the treatment didn't wait inbetween so that the machine has time for cooling off.
I have had a few sessions till now. I have only felt on the very boney areas with thin skin and no fat pain. I was told that is because of the reflexion of the rays from the bones. Except that, on the underarms, legs, bikini area, face, no pain whatsoever.. And the results are stunning. The laser beams target the melanin of the hairs. You will see a big difference sooner if the pigment contrast between your skin and your hairs is higher. That means if you have (or the area treated has) a light skin color and dark hairs you are the lucky one in this scenario. And logically, the laser doesn't work on white hairs at all (for those hairs you need electrolysis with needles. Painful, but very effective). Therefore the number of the treatments depends on the skin and hair color. To say beforehand that everybody needs the same amount of treatments is a little bit misleading. You also have to repeat the treatment every 6-8 weeks because the hairs have 3 different stages of growth and the laser can only kill them in stage 1 when the hair bulb is big and full. If you get the treatment at stage 2 or 3 the hairs will die and fall out but the first stage is underneath ready to come up. And when the treatment is finished it is recommended to get once a year a treatment for maintenance.
The gel helps the device for gliding on your skin. Actually it is a standard that you get a big amount of gel put on the areas beforehand so that the laser ray won't concentrate on a area more than needed. I have also to mention that you should shave those areas at least 24 hours before and must stop to use harsh acids like AHAs, BHAs, Retinol, etc at least one week before. After the treatment you should put on something cooling and repairing. In the clinic they put something medicinal on my skin and at home I have used the Healgel for a few days afterwards. You shouldn't use any irritating products like deodorants, etc at least one day after the treatment, and you have to put sunscreen with high SPF on if the treated areas will be exposed to the sun. If you can, you should avoid the sun at least one week after the laser hair removal treatment at all so that you don't get any pigmentation spots or else because your skin will be much more sensitive than usual. For that reason, It is absolut not recommended getting this laser treatment in sunny summer months..
Overall I am very pleased with the results that I have get from my treatments. I can recommend everyone to try it. The crucial thing is searching for a good clinic not for a cheap one. Not only the results are important also how you get there. IMO, it is a safety issue as well. I took my time, did my research beforehand and searched and searched till I have found the right place with the right laser device. It is a bit pricy but think about all the money that you have spent for the lady razors over the years and do the math. Also think about the very very smooth legs and armpits and bikini area and so on...
I was told laser removal isn't actually removal... it's reduction. I have had it done + I've noticed it grows back slower + finer but it's never gone FOREVER.
She was definitely on right on safety if the person is qualified as I was quite severely burnt (2nd degree) by someone who claimed to be able to do it on dark skin tone. (Afro - caribbean dark)
But boy was I in for a surprise, immediately after she did the patch test on my neck it began to hurt. She lowered it, did another one and it still hurt. I walked home, 5 mins away and it began to burn severely. Three days later, no sleep, it finally stopped bleeding. Needless to say I'm VERY wary about it.
A year later the scars have faded and I really want laser in my bikini and underarm area but very unsure where to turn to do this. Make sure the person has proof of work on dark skin (a referee/client perhaps)
Most of the horror stories I've heard were on darker skin. Be careful everyone!
With fair hair you look like Nic!!!
the idea of not needing to do you bikini line ever again is amazing x
this definitely helped me out! thanks girls :)
Where did you go
I've been doing laser hair removal for 2 years now every 8 weeks and can't imagine stopping really. Is this normal ? Do any of you have any experience?
Love this kind of videos!
Would you say it hurt more or less than a Brazilian?
Certainly less but as Aida (below) said, it might be different if you have darker skin. It just doesn't hurt me at all. x
Oh great, I hadn't seen Aida's comment before. I'm about your complexion and hair colour. So I might consider it. :)
You both are Beautiful!
Love from Greece!
I read somewhere that laser hair removal doesn't last after you get pregnant. Is this true?
Bloody love you two girls! X
