    Another great video, Heather. I agree with you that this is a real world test in line with how you look after your car. I think all those products have done really well over the course of the test, especially after the use of your chosen snow foam and other wash chemicals.

    Great review 👍🏻.Tbh I like the way 3CS leaves the panel almost dry after sheeting, I am not a big beading fan as it leaves water spots

      Thank you! Yeah I'm a fan of that too, it's a good one for keeping the car cleaner as it's a very slick product so I've found that it's quite dirt repellent

    Hi Heather, good video.
    I do believe the application of CS wasn't quite right. There was initially too little product and the coverage did not look right. You should visibly see the layer on the surface and when it cures again you should see the haze over that area. In the video it looks likely the product did not spread that well.
    Should be two full sprays on the pad to prime it.

      Thanks Maz, I'll make sure I'm not being as stingy next time I apply it!

      @@AutoCareHQ Quite an interesting comment from Garage Therapy because ease of use is a key factor. If you can get it wrong (according to them) then so can I. Especially when other ceramic spray manufacturers are screaming at you to not over-apply.

    • @TheDaddybats
      @TheDaddybats 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Application wasn’t quite but yet still one of the best performing products.
      @GarageTherapy you seem a bit Butt Hurt your product was not the best.

    • @GarageTherapyOfficial
      @GarageTherapyOfficial 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@mikestrong719 Hi, with a Ceramic Sealant like ours, the application is incredibly important. Some products really benefit from thin application and others do not. As the chemistry gets more complex its only proper we give similar attention to application / instructions on the bottle. With /THREE: CS ensuing that the product gets even coverage on the surface is key, just like a fully inorganic ceramic coating.

    Real world tests are always great to see and most don’t take the time to carry them out so well done Heather. We all want these 12+ month products but then top up the protection with one thing or other each wash or every month or so, so in reality does the longevity really matter? I can never leave something week after week without at least using a QD so could never say how long anything lasts!

    • @AutoCareHQ
      @AutoCareHQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! Very true, the temptation to apply a QD after most washes is very real! It was hard enough to resist the urge here when some of the products started to dwindle on the boot lid so it made me glad I didn't do the test on the whole car haha

  • @RobertAtherton
    @RobertAtherton 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good to see a real world test as opposed to a chemical detergent test, however can someone please tell me what the difference is between Pyramid Car Care x ODK Ceramic Wax and ODK Revere?

  • @peterowen4456
    @peterowen4456 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Great comparison. A lot of old school car care people have this wax 4 times a year schedule and that's probably about right. My car is stored outside as well and I reckon the sides of the car must keep protection on nearly twice as much as the roof, bonnet etc despite getting more dirt thrown at them. I have been known to top up the flat surfaces only if I'm feeling lazy!

    • @AutoCareHQ
      @AutoCareHQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Peter! I've done the same before as well with just topping up the bonnet if I don't fancy doing the whole car haha

      Thanks John! I've got some good cloths from pyramid car care, SGCB and the rag company and I switch them up quite a bit to be honest. I'll try and look for something edgeless without a tag and ideally a 70:30 blend if I'm being picky!

    Good video. Thanks for that.
    Bit disappointed in the performance of the GT 3CS. Was expecting much more from it than that frankly.
    I know a lot of people have said they've gotten near on 9 months of good performance out of it. But perhaps that was with a regular application of 2 sigma on top.

    • @AutoCareHQ
      @AutoCareHQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching :) Yeah applying Sigma will definitely help but I've also had better out of 3 CS on others cars to be honest. I've got a video coming out in December where I've used it again long-term and it's done better there

  • @GMDetails
    @GMDetails 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Very interesting results from a lengthy test Heather, I don’t think the 5 or 6 hours should have made that much of a difference to be honest , even an hour would have been fine for another coat. If a wax needs 6 hrs then it’s not a user friendly product in my book.
    Loved the ODK wax results , I don’t see it as anything else as it’s got ODK on the label 😅
    That’s not to say Pyramid didn’t specify what they expected of the wax , just that they didn’t make it , I know it’s opening up a whole can of worms here but nevertheless , it out performed all the other waxes on test.
    Question tho, why put GT 3CS up against paste waxes in a test?

    • @AutoCareHQ
      @AutoCareHQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching Graeme :) Yeah that's a good point, a 6-12 hour cure time between is quite demanding especially as the car will start getting pretty dusty in that time. I just chose CS as well as the waxes as they're 5 of my favourite paint protection choices, it wasn't to compare sealants vs waxes or anything. I was just interested to see how they'd all do when I left them all alone and resisted the urge to use a quick detailer on every wash haha!

      I'm not sure if you've seen Maz's comment yet on the application, I think I was applying a bit too thin and should've put more on. I've got another video coming out at the start of December on another car though and it lasted longer there!

    • @AutoCareHQ
      @AutoCareHQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for watching! I've spoken to Maz from Garage Therapy and it looks like the performance was down to user error as I didn't apply enough of the product. Even still, I think it did well to last as long as it did compared to some of the others. I'll have another video looking at the product long-term again for a different test that'll be coming out in December hopefully so it'll be good to show it in another situation there!

    I've come to the conclusion with wax is durability isn't everything for me within reason. Obviously it has to last a certain amount of time to make it worthwhile. I go for usability, price and how it makes the car like. Good video as always 👍🏼

      @AutoCareHQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching! Yeah I definitely agree. I think one of the most enjoyable processes of detailing a car is applying some protection as well. That's one of the reasons why I only did the test on the boot lid so I could still apply products to the rest of the car haha!

    Heather are you the type of car person that loves a clean exterior car,
    and a clean interior plus engine bay or are you sort of yeah clean car
    but engine bay can be 70% clean.
    I'm a clean interior plus engine bay, and the exterior can be 70% clean type of guy.

    • @AutoCareHQ
      @AutoCareHQ  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm definitely more into cleaning the interior and exterior than the engine bay to be honest. The engine bay always looks clean but not properly "detailed". I don't mind if the car exterior dirty in the week though as it gives me something to clean haha but it bothers me if the interior gets even slightly dusty!
