My name is martin from another country and i think when it comes to giving insulin, we use a different method Eg 25kg child Take{ 25kg× 0.05iu/kg×10(number of hours you intend to infuse)} all these units ,you put it in 100ml N/S . Then let it run for 10hrs as you monitor your blood sugars hourly.

the assumption is they have severe dehydration (100ml/kg) of fluids
