It's a real treat to see these old Listers saved and run. Real British history, thank you. I remember the Lister Auto-trucks running around the Thornycroft works where I served my apprenticeship. We usually have a few Lister engines chugging away on display at the Basingstoke Festival of Transport.
Straight pipe the old beast?! Sounds good to me, with or without the silencer. The sad part, and I don't know if it's just nostalgia, or simply depression, but I remember engines like these earning their keep in the 1970s. We had various old engines on all manner of equipment beck then. I remember a CS on a start-o-matic generator, hopper cooled D on a cement mixer. We had a Petter A1 on the potato riddle. There was a God knows what driving a Norris feed mill, and I have say it was a God knows what because it was so thick with Dust from the mill that you couldn't see what the engine actually was! I think the newest engine was on the bale elevator, and that was a Briggs and Stratton of about 15 years old. Now they're all collectors' pieces. Even the new tractors we had are now classed as classics. God it makes you feel old!
Brilliant Adam, the old gal sounds a treat. Glad you strapped the tank down, we were shouting at you - Adam she's going to fall Lol. We really enjoyed watching you get this one done and looking forward to much more of the same. Great hour of entertainment thanks.
Really nice runner you got...cart holds it down better then the first time you got it going...that was good though hopping on the pallet...😀...I still like the square tank... I use old back oil from my southern cross yb to stain new pieces on cart I put together, darkened up nice
Wow that is the nicest sounding engine you wouldn't belive it was a 1933 engine , that petter might have a good competitor for the intro engine! Lol great vid as always mancave 👍I must say I wish I had one of these beasties
She is a great old lump. and this is first time she has ran up to temperature since 75 we think. Treat yourself mate. if you got the room and a bit of spear cash.
Hi. I saw one of these videos. and it showed a Lawnbug being worked on. Painted and got Running. Now. I have a Lawnbug. with a Tecumseh V60 Engine. and Peerless Gearbox. I have managed to sort the engine, and have it running.."BUT." I cannot get it to Drive. So is there anyone. out there who knows anything about the Peerless Axle--Clutch.and Footbrake. it looks like. the Lefthand Peddle Works the Brake. would it also Work the Clutch. somehow....would appreciate as much information as possible....Please

When you prime the diesel compressor do you use straight oil or a 50/50 oil diesel mix please?
This comment applies to the Douglas part 2. Do the plugs reach deep enough? Preheat them?
Back making top quality videos again buddy

Hi Adam, Your reference to "Kelter" is a derivative of Kilter, meaning "out of Kilter, or balance".
Running very nice Adam😉👌

Lovely engine🤠
Thank very much 🙏
put a tray fixed to the wooden table to stop water but moving .
A nice shiny tank would look out of place next to the engine. Good choice to leave the tank as is.
