@2:40 We can see who edited this video😂. Seriously though, you guys are currently the best, and most REAL and authentic RVer's on TH-cam. Don't change! Thanks for another great video!
I can always tell when I cross into Kentucky from IL on my way to Florida! I've been taking I-57 to I24 instead of I-65. It's a few extra miles, a few less miles on I-65 through KY, and the roads are a little better. I use my iPad with a RAM Mount setup for my GPS. Wish the maps program had a truck mode, but I haven't run into any bad issues yet. Safe travels!
I use the Garmin RV 770 and Google maps when we travel, and when's there's a conflict between routes on the GPS's, I tend to go with the Garmin. As you stated, Google tends to send you down the fastest routes, which might not be best for an RV! Safe travels
Being a full timer as well, I have to disagree with some of this. Yes, the roads need work. But, I have not had things fall of the walls or out of my cabinets. It has a lot to do with how you pack things. We do not have independent suspension. But we have an improved leaf spring setup on our Jayco Pinnacle.
I know what you mean! I took the family to to Sandusky OH and from Nashville to just on the other side of Bowling Green. 65 was tolerable but after that OMG NIGHTMARE. I took the first bypass which was way better and then 71 to Cincinnati dang near finished my new camper off and tow vehicle too. Had to fix a lot of things in Cincinnati. Who needs a roller coaster when you have 65😅
Google took us off the freeway, i55 and down a two lane bumpy farm road for an hour then back onto i55. We were so nervous getting our 32 ft c class down that tiny road.
I just stayed at Caesar’s Creek last night. I liked the roominess of the full hook up sites. East Fork lake and Cowan Lake State park are also good places to stay in the Cincinnati area. The shower house is open in the winter at Cowan Lake as well.
I tow my RV from Quebec to Arizona and back every year. When I had a 38 ft 5th wheel, I found the roads just terrible in a lot of states. Michigan and Indiana are bad every year it seems. I usually find the western states to be pretty good as they don't have to deal with potholes caused by freezing weather and snow. The worst i found to be going over freeway bridges where the suspension unloads as you crest the rise onto the bridge deck. It then settles back down, temporarily putting twice the intended load onto the RV suspension and frame. A badly broken frame and a terrible repair job by a shop in Yuma caused me to have to give the RV away as it coudln't be driven anymore. I now have a much smaller 16x7x7 cargo trailer to RV conversion that I built myself. And it doesn't mind the bad roads nearly as much. RV quality these days is just terrible, and you are more likely to crack an RV frame than with a cargo trailer. Everything is a trade off it seems.
