Hee, hee! I am a bit older than you, so I have always thought of Chelsea as “Beatle Boots” from the 1960s.
As a teenager I loved wearing my Converses. When I wanted a more mature/ adult wardrobe I thougth they wouldn't fit in that. Thanks to your video's I recently bought another pair and I just can't stop wearing them! ❤

I had one of those long denim jackets and wore it for years! I think I eventually sent it to Goodwill. Sorry I did that, along with my suede fringed jacket. Oh well, you live to regret. Watching this video I realized I've been dressing like this my entire life. Black and white tee shirts, men's inspired footwear, black and blue jeans and a new white button down blouse every year. I've got a photo of myself sitting on the hood of a car wearing my black converse low tops with a pair of flame stitch socks, cuffed up levi's and a black tank top.. I was 17, it was 1975. I still have all of those things in my closet, minus the socks. I went through fazes and fads during my lifetime but I have always had pretty much all the items you describe in my wardrobe. I like to add outwear, I love outerwear because I hate being cold. Besides nothing is more edgy and chic than a long black reefer style coat, a all weather trench or a 100% wool pea coat. '
I LOVE shopping resale (actually do it for a living). I just scored a simple white cotton pullover shirt with an unusual hemline & arm detail. I paid $4 and it was an Italian designer that sold for $400. Reading labels is key for material, manufacturer & care. I do hawk the Halloween section this time of year and scored a Long 50’s Mens Smoking Jacket in Blacks & Grays that will pair with jeans & T. BTW I’m 64 and someone just posted combat boots are out. I’ll never give up my Doc Martins!
Agree with every piece, I would add a pair of black flats, ballet or whatever your preference. Love your style even at my age, but then again I don’t dress my age, lol !

Emily, after watching your videos last week I went to Torrid & purchased a soft pair of black jeggings , a black T-shirt & a long-sleeve jean shirt. I love them all. Your videos are helping me to identify timeless pieces I can add to my wardrobe. Next, I want to purchase a black and white pair of slip-on sneakers (probably the Skechers brand) and a pair of black sock boots, which I have had my eye on for years. Perfection! I'm currently searching for the perfect pair of black pants (preferably a slim bootcut). I need a denim jacket with a little stretch for movement since I am in a seated position. I lucked up on a black knit moto jacket that's perfect. A personal quirk of mine: white t-shirt. I'm convinced Murphys Law comes into play whenever I wear one 😂, so I opt for a light heathered gray.
Same here on both may ask since it’s rare for me to find what are your tips and tricks? For me one of the things I’ve realised is that knitted dresses work for me especially longer ones often with pants and boots, sweaters tend to look better either at the uppger hipbone or much longer so tend to wear medium or xl or xxl works for t- shirts as well. Kinda feel one has to adjust to the sitting to make it a cool style also thought about that the shoes become more important and of course bodytype matters

I absolutely adore you! Mostly because my style is almost identical to yours! I love heeled boots, short boots, chunky platform boots and of course tall boots! Docs…I have several Doc boots and even Doc sandals. My go to is always black and white, then I add color from there. I am also a fan jeans and wearing black and brown. Where do you recommend to get the basic shirt and long sleeve T-shirts? I really don’t want to do Kohl’s or Amazon anymore. I don’t like their quality.
Also- would love to see a Chelsea Boot Challenge type video where you have a plethora of various outfits with the Chelsea boot as the constant.
Try Everlane, KOTN, Quince....all of those have great quality basics that aren't crazy expensive.

I love this video .. great styling with your edgy classic pieces. At 68 I don’t dress my age and love all this! I only struggle with what edgy trainers would you recommend me try? Can I still wear them? I hate old lady trainers😂😘
I pulled out my Fall/Winter sweaters the other day yeah ❤. I wish I felt good in a leather jacket. I had one from Torrid that fit perfectly but I think a cool shaped denim jacket is more my speed. 🤔 When I’m not looking I’m sure I will find one. This season I would a love a black cashmere cardigan and a new pair of nice black loafers. (Short wish list) 😊

I have all these clothes. Booth shoes shown. moto jacket all of it, but I have wanted to still be edgy in this way -still be able to wear my short comes does garçons sneakers, doc martens and fluevogs but wear less black. I am getting older and black and white make me look older and less than earth tones. Thoughts bringing in the earth tones?

So. Emily. I am right with you on the uses and stylin' of the white button shirt. I love a button shirt. But I literally cannot conceive of a white shirt on my body. Just can't. So could you recommend/explain a substitute color? If you had to get the classic, the edgy neutral, and the flexibility of white with a color, what would you pick as a sub for white button shirt? I thrifted a Free People Chelsea boot but were too tight on the ole ankles…they were also size men’s 8.5. Gave them to a guy at work…
Personally I HATE chelsea boots with a pencil skirt. I think it just cuts up the leg in a really unflattering way, a pencil skirt (in my opinion) always looks better with something that does not cut off at the shin, be in a low vamp pump, ballet flat, or a knee high boot- it's a fashion pet peeve of mine but I love a good funky Chelsea boot with a trouser or a jean. I also have fairly stumpy legs and anything that cuts up the leg in odd places exaggerates that to the point it looks terrible on me but other people might be able to pull it off.
The boots are definitely black and edgy but not exactly what I think of as Chelsea boots. More like a metal tip, Chelsea-esque cowboy-ish boot.
