    I just passed my QBO test and was just looking on how to apply my knowledge of accounts receivable that I have over 10 years of experience with and hate it. But you just shed some light on how to just us QuickBook knowledge to fix things for them and not worry about AR AP. I truly wanted to get away from so much paperwork. Thanks Morgan!

    Can you use QBO to do bookkeeping for a client that is not subscribed to QBO?

      Hey! No, unfortunately, in order to use QBO you need to subscribe.

    Do you offer tax services to your clients as well? Or do they use a separate CPA?
    I’m currently a full time accountant/bookkeeper employed full time. I’d like to start my own company later this year, but I’m trying to decide if it’s worth it to learn taxes and offer that as another service to my clients?

      I do not offer tax services, but it's something I've thought about. Here's a video I made about the topic, and I have a couple more coming out soon. Let me know what you decide! th-cam.com/video/49o36dkWLrg/w-d-xo.html

      Morgan doesn't do 1:1 mentoring, but she does coaching (answering questions with her students) through her Bookkeeper Business Coach course -Gabe (FinePoints Admin)

    Do you have any experience with healthcare bookkeeping? medical/dental/extended health?

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Morgan works mostly with lawyers, but this could be a great addition to her niches playlist she's been creating. I'll add it to the ideas list -- is that what area you're considering becoming an expert bookkeeper in? :) -Gabe (FinePoints Admin)

      @@FinePointsBookkeeping Yes, I have worked in dentistry for over 10 years and usually do whatever bookkeeping is necessary for the offices, learned from whoever was there before me.. and it's not done right at all. But since i have such extensive experience in the field, I thought healthcare would be a great niche for me!

    Why would a business engage a bookkeeper to make an invoice? I'm imagining a cafe invoicing a client for catering, and emailing the bookkeeper with the info for the bookkeeper to create an invoice - which makes no sense.
    So how does this work? Does the cafe owner/manager log into QuickBooks and create the invoice? Why do so many bookkeeping businesses offer invoicing as part of their service packages?

    Thanks Morgan - very helpful. I have seen you showing up in my facebook feed advertising for QB, do you work for them as a Bookkeeper Live capacity now?

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Mark! I did a video series on their YT channel last summer, and now they use the footage in advertisements, but I don't work for Bookkeeper Live--I'm still just on my own.

      Hi Morgan, how should overseas bookkeeper get hired by US clients as a remote bookkeeper?

    I just wanted you to know... Even though I literally grew up helping my mother with her bookkeeping biz, I didn't learn nearly as much useful stuff from her as I do from you.

    my book keeper wants to charge me $600 a month. Is that a fair price for a small business?

    • @bleh329
      @bleh329 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      That's dependent on a number of factors. How many bank accounts there are, how many daily/monthly transactions are expected, if there's any payroll or tax prep they'll be doing, if there's any cleanup they need to take care of, how much you will be entering manually, etc.
      It's also determined by how experienced they are and how much value they can bring to your business.

    • @FinePointsBookkeeping
      @FinePointsBookkeeping  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, like Bleh says, it all depends on what types of services the bookkeeper is doing for you, how many accounts you have, how complicated your business transactions are, and their experience as a bookkeeper. If you're not ready for a larger expense like that, it could be worth it to find a newer bookkeeper at a lower rate or keep looking around for another option. -Gabe (FinePoints Admin)
