My family is spread all over the US and Canada, so my husband and I will spend the 4th looking at fireworks over the treetops (there's a fairgrounds nearby) and watching tv and eating snacks! Later on in July we will be visiting my brother-in-law and his wife at Keuka Lake for a weekend, where there will be much wine-tasting and lake-viewing. Happy Summer! Thank you for sharing - yes, furbabies do get nervous with the fireworks. We are fortunate that our dogs do not seem to hear them.
Stitch Con sounds like a lot of fun! We go to friends for a cookout every year for the 4th. We don't go to see fireworks, but I live in the country and our neighbors give us a pretty good show every year!

I enjoyed hearing about your fun time at Stitch Con! The fourth of July celebration for our family has changed in recent years as circumstances of life have changed. We used to go to 4th Lake (near Lake George NY) every year for many, many years. I have fond memories of our fun picnics with family and friends. This year will be quiet and stay at home due to my cancer. But I'm happy to stay home and stitch and read! Annie, your charts are beautiful!

Glad you had a great time at Stitch Con! On the Fourth, we have a really great tradition. We live on a lake and all the boats are decked out in patriotic decorations and we have a Flotilla (boat parade). It's so much fun and actually makes me choke up with American pride and gratefulness. We get to watch it from our balcony over the lake. Then, on that same balcony, we have a front row seat to some fantastic fireworks in the evening - though I usually miss them beacue I'm holed up with my two sweet dachshunds trying to calm them. Independence Day is my second favorite holiday coming in just after Thanksgiving.
I love that!! I get emotional too when I see all the patriotic pride and gratefulness. Thank you for sharing.

The local running club hosts a one mile run for the whole family . My daughter and I will be running early. After she is scheduled to work, I will be home. thank you for sharing your stitch-Con experience.

Stitch-Com sounds like a blast!
For the 4th, our plans will be our usual. We live in a town of slightly less than 500 but this town does the 4th of July up right! We'll go to the parade (hubby will drive his Dad's Ford tractor, circa 1945 ish), we'll have lunch with extended family, there will be games at the ballfield and then at dark we have the most amazing fireworks 🎇 display.

First, I want to say I love your patterns. I especially like the Ewe series. That little girl is so cute. For the 4th of July I had several things to choose from. I am going to go to my son and DIL’s house. They live in an area where fireworks are shot off over a lake near their house. We can walk to a spot where you can see them yet not get into all the traffic and people at the lake. Enjoy your daughter’s visit!

We can really tell that you had a great time at Stitch Con, maybe someday I'll be there. My 4th plans are very quiet, stay inside and keep the dogs calm. To me, no fireworks are worth their anxiety.

I wish we could attend both weekends!! I hear Weekend B was so much fun
4th of July will hopefully be a smaller celebration this year. I say that knowing that my kids love to invite friends over to celebrate with us so every time I try to scale down it builds back up! We will make homemade ice cream that never changes. The rest is up in the air.
I'm really looking forward to August when I'll have all my kiddos home together for a few days. That's the best! When I have everyone here to enjoy.
That sounds wonderful! I love homemade ice cream. When I was a little girl we would make it on my grandparent's front porch! Those were the best days.
I'm glad that you got to attend Stitch Con. I would love to go to a retreat. Your tomato was the coolest thing I've ever seen! I loved it. In my hometown on the 4th of July, I'm off from work and at 9:30 at night the town shoots off fireworks. They are always so pretty and colorful. And on July 5th and 6th we have a Christmas in July festival in town. The town is blocked off and all kinds of vendors set up their booths. There is a lot of crafts and handmade items and food vendors and lots of musical bands are playing. It's always a fun day on Saturday. People from everywhere attend. Santa and Mrs. Claus are walking the streets, too.

Oh my Annie, the tomato is beautiful, love them on black fabric, Hundred Ways is a sweet design, I am a big fan of Blackbird Designs, love this one, nice stitching progress.
I do like DMC floss, it is readily available and not so expensive. Chessie and me kits are adorable, nice start on Toms Foolery, congratulations to the winners.
We have plans to BBQ and sit on the back deck and watch the fireworks in town, we are able to see them.

Glad to hear you had such a good time at StitchCon. This was my second time as well, weekend B, and you are right, it’s just different, in a good way!!
While we are a very patriotic family, we don’t tend to participate in July 4th festivities. Too much alcohol, too many people. And since I’m married to a fireman that has seen some of the mishaps from people handling fireworks that are not trained, he doesn’t like to attend any parties. So, it’s a night at home!!

A very low key 4th of July at our empty nest.... My husband and I will catch up on chores, and hopefully I will find time for some stitching (and an afternoon nap!)
Catching up on chores is always good! It means you can rest afterwards and enjoy some down time.
You have so many beautiful patterns. Wow that tomato pincushion is awesome. My plans for July 4th is taking care of both my parents whom have althimizers. I stay at their house overnight several nights so a picnic and visiting are in the celebration for me. I will be cleaning, cooking dressing them and bathing them too. There is much more too.

It was lovely stitching with you in the Fanciful Flamingo's Favorite things box for "Sweet Friendship"! I have finished the stitch and painted the board and hoping to turn it into an FFO this weekend. Loved that chart! Just started a new WIP with "Strength and Dignity" which I am probably going to end up stitching for my daughter, my SIL, and myself. For the 4th of July we plan to take it easy. We may head up to Shenandoah NP and do some hiking as well :)

We really do not have any special plans right now for the 4th of July but I just found out that I have both Thursday and Friday off so maybe we will drive to our oldest sons place and visit him and his fiancée.

July 4th is usually spent indoors here in Houston. It's so hot outside. We have fun anyway. We invite family over and play indoor games, watch baseball, and make home made ice cream.
