I think Nader's strength is his delivery. I feel like I've known him for years after hearing him speak for 11 minutes. The best example of this comes when he describes praying in front of the Apple Store: the diction is just formal enough to sound composed and confident without losing an ounce of his calmness and charisma; the inflection is conversational and compelling at the same time. The only hint of nerves comes from how bouncy some of his body language is, but that's very minor.
I'm less interested by the speech itself. I think "respect the old" isn't quite overdone, but I don't take away too many new things from this thesis--I learn about "planned obsolescence" and the cathedral analogy, but not much more. I prefer his 2012 speech.
