    Thanks, Brenden. Brings back memories of the years I photographed and filmed this line: when stations were staffed, and hours spent in the Mangalore signal box.

      Mangalore was well before my time as were many of the stations that closed in the 1980s.

    4:18 I still find it hilarious that the two places you'll see that model of loco are Australia and Alaska.

      Funny and ironic. I haven't seen them anywhere else

      It's weird to think a mainline freight locomotive in Australia Is a narrow gauge tourist loco

    Longest V/Line train I've ever seen! Even if it's not hauling passengers

      Longest train for a long time!

      @@Schony747 It's as if every metro train in the city went on strike, and all that was left to run was 2 N's hauling 12 H sets 🤣

      @@Schony747 I am guessing they will eventually be headed for an appointment with the gas axe? Any word on whats likely to happen with the N Class loco's? Relegated to freight working maybe? Or sold off O/S?

      I haven't seen any reports so the security must be doing a decent job.

    If you exclude any cross country trains, does any city in Australia have 10 or 12 car trains in normal service? From watching vids of trains in Sydney it seems like there's no station in Sydney that could handle longer than a 8 car train

    • @realjohnboxall
      @realjohnboxall ปีที่แล้ว

      Sydney Trains are preparing for 10-car sets. They also ran a few trials in the early 1980s.

      Maybe one of the QR train in Queensland long distance. Otherwise I can't think of any.

    Those Harris cars should not be wrecked. As the Tait trains have been restored, we need to restore a Harris blue train for posterity. Same with all historic models, Hitachi , Comeng in original form orange livery etc

      That would make sense and would be a great addition to the heritage fleet.
