Dive into a reimagined musical universe where Rush's iconic "Tom Sawyer" is transported back to the electrifying era of the 1950s! 🎸✨ Experience this progressive rock masterpiece as if it were crafted during the birth of rock and roll!
Imagine Neil Peart's intricate drum patterns reimagined with a driving rockabilly beat, Geddy Lee's soaring vocals transformed by the early rock and roll style, and Alex Lifeson's guitar riffs filtered through the lens of Chuck Berry-inspired licks[1][2]. From the infectious doo-wop harmonies to the raw energy of emerging rock and roll sounds, this is a unique musical time travel experience that bridges Rush's future with the musical innovations of the 1950s! 🔥
The 1950s were a pivotal time for musical revolution, with artists like Elvis Presley and Little Richard laying the groundwork for rock music. This reimagining captures that spirit of musical rebellion, transforming "Tom Sawyer" into a jukebox hit that would make teenagers dance at the local malt shop
Picture the synthesizer intro replaced by a honky-tonk piano, the complex time signatures simplified into a catchy 4/4 beat, and the philosophical lyrics adapted to reflect the teenage concerns of the 1950s. The result is a "Tom Sawyer" that's both familiar and refreshingly new, blending Rush's progressive spirit with the raw energy of early rock and roll
Don't forget to grab your leather jacket, hop in your hot rod, and cruise to the drive-in for more epic musical journeys through time! 🚗💨

My AI will buy your AI
I sure hope Geddy and Alex hear this. I’m sure they would love it! 🎉
As a huge fan of Rush and of ALL music, I think this is excellent! Great job!
From the album "In The Lee Small Hours."
😂😂😂 THAT, my friend, is hilarious! Pure genius ❤
@@OldManDave1960bo it's not
@@ytr3488 Bo Diddley?
FYI, you spelled Sawyer wrong in the pic.
I didn't catch it until I read your post.
This Tom Sawyer sounds like one hep cat! Sha, sha, sha!
He's a beatnik.
This is actually brilliant.
Glad you like it! Feel free to buy us a coffee!!
I can just see Vic Fontaine banging this one out on the holodeck.
Lol, i can see it
That was exactly my first thought hearing this too!
RIP James. RIP Neil.
Neil would have had a hell of a time trying to restrain himself to muddle through the drums in this version
This is live with Neil from the Burning for Buddy Tribute. (kidding of course, Neil could pull this is for one song, but not all night).
Hahahahaha
I'd like to see Michael Bublé have a go at this tune.
Yes!
Wow, this must have been made in the 40's! I didn't know that the Rush version was a cover.
Lol! 🎉
Ayn Rand played this record while sitting at her typewriter writing Atlas Shrugged.
Fortunately NP grew out of his youthful Ayn Rand delusion.
Truly, she was a demon. Pure evil
@@Em-lq3vshis Ayn Rand “delusion” enabled him to put Rush’s percussion and lyrics over the top. Without the Ayn Rand influence, “Anthem,” 2112, and “Tom Sawyer” would never have happened. I would read “The Fountainhead” and “Atlas Shrugged” before commenting on their worth.
Too bad she was a wefare queen at the end of her life lol
@@williamjarrell8475 Gee, comment got deleted for saying A** R*** was ev*l
Excellent! Great job! Neil would have loved this!
As a devout Rush fan, I absolutely love this! Thanks!🎉
If this was available back when they were touring this would have been their lights on song. I can just see it. Credits to to all their crew and video work rolling, this song playing and Alex in his fat suit just trashing a kitchen as he’s throwing a bunch of stuff into a blender to make a mixed drink. 😂
Too bad they are no longer touring...they would totally have used this as their walk up song.
A rather catchy tune! Think I’ll purchase it on 45!
Tom "Saywer"? Say what? ;-)
Say wer? 😂😂😂
So Sinatra So Rush So Awesome ❤❤❤
I like to think Neil would approve as he was a fan of Ol'Blue Eyes.
Glad you like it! Buy us a coffee sometime!!
I remember when Van Halen did the song, "Big Bad Bill is Sweet Willian Now," and this song is even cooler than that.
Hahaha glad you like it
I don’t know but it is very cool
Proof any words will fit over a Tony Bennet song. There is no RUSH in this but for the words. There is a 7/4 part that would have been great for this swing tempo and instrumentation.
Maybe using the riffs or over all song structure copyrights it.
Glad you like it
@@Jazzified-FM Thanks, I enjoyed the others, Vanna Halen, stitches....but something in my DNA gets a higher level of scrutiny. I was looking forward to a RUSH one.
Synth theme wouldv Been so take5 pergect here. And More drum fills....
It's so lazy
Knowing Neil, he would have loved this. ☺️
that was cool...i wonder what 'spirit of radio' would sound like?
It's very well done, but I wish the music was closer to the original, darker & dramatic, instead of sounding like a remake of "Accentuate the Positive".
Yeah it kind of feels pointless to listen to this song without Peart’s drum part.
This is Brilliant!
It's far from brilliant, if you ask me.
Cool Version! 🤪
Needs more Gene Krupa drums.
What a legend!
What version is this??? Where're those famous sax and trombone solos?
This must have been the radio version, edited for time...
I was imagining someone like Frankie Lymon singing this in higher register, for some reason, but as always, you hit a home run! Cue one of the Teenagers in the fade singing "Attention all planets of the Solar Federation" in a deep voice.
Very cool. The only thing missing is the iconic riff.
It’s almost great…I can definitely see the potential, just needs a little more polish. If it actually had an adaptation of the synth melody part, that would seal the deal!
Oh definitely
was this the original song?
Yes ...Rush covered it in the the early 80's
This has strong Steve Lawrence vibe. It just needs a tweek to add Eydie Gormé to the mix.
Or Merman.
Awesome
And it’s “Sawyer.”
Saywer?
Nope
So much better than the ROCK version!
Why couldn’t Michael Bublé do a version like this?
Good question
I figure why the heck not? He’s also Canadian 🇨🇦
Pat Boone did this better
Did what?
Good one! But your animated record cover has a typo.
Thanks!
I love what you do with music
I would love an AI version of
Boss Radio like KHJ Disk Jockeys like the Real Don Steele
What a legend
Like a lot of these tracks, the music has almost no resemblance to the actual song, and the melody is rather non-descript. It's basically a so-so jazz track with the lyrics from Tom Sawyer added on top. The concept is OK, but the execution is disappointing. That said it has a couple of amusing moments, but still.
Glad you enjoyed it
@@Jazzified-FM I hope you can take my comment as constructive criticism. If there was much more resemblance musically and melodically to Tom Sawyer the concept would work much better.
Is this AI ?
This gimmick is beyond tired. Just listen to actual 50s music which is the greatest decade of music in history.
Nice! Realizing how bad these lyrics actually are 😅
Needs more polka!
Good idea!
uh, this isnt jazz, its sinatra swing. also, wrong decade.
LOL !!! How Big Frank would interpret it
Nice thought!
It should be 1940 not 1950. But still pretty cool.
Ridiculous
South Park did it better
The singer is better than Geddy Lee, but they could use a better drummer.
"wer"
It's a Richard Cheese rendition
Thanks! I hate it.
Sacrilege.
Why.....
Why not?
Geddy Lee be like 💀
Lol
Is this AI? There are so many remakes like this now
Ahhh, AI at it's finest!
Oh yeah!!
Arbitrary
Not musical at all.
Glad you like it!
@@Jazzified-FM I did not like it.
Your mind is for rent.
