I love you Day9. I just found out about this game too and was watching Northern Lion play until I saw you playing it. Now I am watching you play it, its such a great game. (I miss Funday Monday)
I downloaded and played this for like 8 hours on the first playthrough lol. I won 18-3. Pro tip, keep a close watch on your stamina economy. And buy as many bags as you can fill! In the fights, I slow down time to 0.1 speed so I can tell what's going on - I look at my opponent's gear and guess what might happen, then I analyse the log if I turned out to be wrong. It's VERY satisfying when you meet an opponent and it turns out their build is laughably bad against yours. I wound up using two Ripsaw blades and had plenty of healing potions and shield generation, then I came up against an enemy focused on generating thorns, which my blades just stripped immediately 😅I will definitely buy this game when it's finished.
I have just started playing backpack battles. I like backpack battles. Stumbling over this vid, I was very happy to see Sean was playing backpack battles too, and eager to see what he thought of the game. i'm not even halfway through the video and am currently 6 links deep in learning about the intricacies of relationship contracts in Korean dramas. Never change, Sean xD
Starcraft 1 and 2 already have a solution for people who think it's too high-APM... Lower the game speed. I don't know why the entire ladder plays on the fast game speed, honestly. I would have enjoyed laddering more if it was played on normal or slow. I feel like lower rungs of the ladder should allow people to play on slower speeds if/unless the other player agrees/disagrees.
2:11:45 the fact Day9 says it offends him that having a helm not the correct way up and then instantly changing his mind without concisely thinking about his action in his reaction made me chuckle
I am so very glad someone called him on that bad anime take with his love of kdramas. Take that sean! They are both so troupe heavy to mock one and love another is simply silly. Animate a kdrama and they become so similiar it's not even funny! I havent watched any kdramas or anime in like 2 years tho.
I get you, but he did kind of address that when he called out the comment that he was criticising a storytelling fault that happens regardless of medium and genre. He said that that's true but doesn't fit the joke of acting like it's solely anime's fault. Then admitted that he was being hypocritical with the drama vent too.. Had me laughing real hard at the house of the dead weak point bit 😂
I agree completely. I also feel like this is a problem in other games such as Diablo where you have so much equipment and it has so many specific rules and procs and skill trees that when it turns into a giant blender of mobs dying, you have no idea how it's happening
Agree, but if you notice partway through, he clicks on a battle log and it shows what happened in the battle turn-by-turn so if you're really interested you can find out.
Came for the Backpack Battles, stayed for the... well also Backpack battles. Did enjoy the vibe though, will be checking out if you've done more. Especially the way you handled the backseating; I see some people who took issue with it, and I would tend to agree that it could be taken as a bit much, but you **did** take their comment into consideration when you addressed them, you did not just chastise your chat and then continue to play despite the comments you recieved.
Yessss... I have so much Google play credit I want to give them. Don't want it on my computer because I will waste too much "valuable" time. On my phone I can play when my time would otherwise be "wasted".
I love whenever you get to lecture us about game design and game meta stuff. Explaining the micro and macro aspects and how having both adds to a game was great
Yeah, In comparison to backpack hero, it seems like it has more complexity when it comes to positioning. Probably because the brain space of thinking about which abilities to use has been removed and everything has been put on a time based usage system. Also, when it comes to anime, maybe try watchin a short 1-3 season one. They tend to be better than the really long ones. K dramas are decently interesting though. They make a lot of interesting plot lines. Better than most Western ones. They can be a bit hard to wade through though.
Only backseating thing (tho I'm pretty sure Day9 understood it himself), its not that you get characters on wishlisting, its that its just "hey it'll come out in the full version, so please wishlist"
I just dont get it. The biggest problem is... the inventory management. Not to mention the archetypes and stuff arent SUPER interesting and theres not even that many of them.
43:28 - I was about to yell at the top of my lungs at the screen that the bag he added adds 3 slots and he is trying to make room for a 4 slot item... All puzzley games give me so much stress when I've noticed something the streamer hasnt and sometimes because you cant test it, you may even be wrong about it...
When you chose to carry on in survival mode it doesn't actually matter if you win or lose, only that you make it to the required number or rounds without running out of lives (the "one try left" just meant that you had one life left to try it make it to the required round number.)
it's like watching the most infuriating 3 year old in the world. "how do I get a lucky pig? oh I need 2 of these clovers? (buys a second pig) -> (doesn't buy the second clover) -> (breaks both pigs with a hammer)"
@@modiddymoBeing new to a game does not excuse refusing to be even slightly observant. Neither does streaming. The game is literally paused when you arent actively in a battle. There is no excuse for not reading/remembering in game tooltips/explanations.
@@kingofbudokaiWhy would you need an excuse for something that's not a bad action? Being bad at a game and not instantly learning every mechanic in the first few hours of playing it is actually totally fine and okay.
Addicting is a verb. As in, this game is addicting many people to it. Addictive is the adjective, as in this is an addictive game. Lately people have been using the historical verb form as an adjective.
@@ThesiusProductions why not "this game is addictive" though? That is the one that seems most natural to me - its still an adjective use isnt it? It feels odd and kinda like assigning agency to the game "this game is addicting me"
@@ThesiusProductions Addicting is not a verb. Both are adjectives with essentially the same definition. Addicting is considered less formal and has risen in use particularly when referencing games. This could be to denote a less serious context than addiction to substances, but that's speculation on my part.
Ugh. I can’t stand people that get irrationally butthurt by their chat giving them tips. The fact that he’s so focused on it screams emotional insecurity. Either ignore it or use the tips. All these specifications on the pronouns he has for his chat feel like libbed up twitter.
He had to find a way to communicate to his chat about backseating. You obviously haven't streamed much in your life. Sean has been at it since the beginning of streaming. So take your ignorance and assumption of the ease of dealing with a bunch of... you in chat and have a nice day.
I love you Day9. I just found out about this game too and was watching Northern Lion play until I saw you playing it. Now I am watching you play it, its such a great game. (I miss Funday Monday)
We all miss Funday Monday
The craziest thing about all of this is that it's just the demo right now!
"This is the Dark Souls of autobattling games."

😂 Right!?
I *loved* the chat about k drama after the anime dunk 😂
2:18:00 like for nearly the cutest kitty in the world (obviously mine is cuter).
I was very entertained by the stuff bouncing off Sean's head at the start

2:14:00he swaps it back the "correct" position
Oh, cool! it has weapon sockets. That is one of my favorite inventory management mechanics
"Kindly ban yourself"
hahahhah

The biggest issue I have is that it's so hard to tell what's actually working. So many things are happening at the same time
I agree completely. I also feel like this is a problem in other games such as Diablo where you have so much equipment and it has so many specific rules and procs and skill trees that when it turns into a giant blender of mobs dying, you have no idea how it's happening

oh nice its like Backpack Hero meets Super Auto Pets
I like the "backpack" portion of this one much more.
Pathfinder is obviously better and synergizes with his thorn whip. "I'm gonna get Hunter"
I'm so glad that The Bazaar is finally out.

Sean I love how you handle your chat. It gives me the giggles.
This looks like a blatant copy of backpack hero... I am of course assuming that backpack hero came first.
Such an amazing little game, I had a blast watching Sean discovering it. Keep it up!
The name of this video including "P1" and its implication brings me joy
That 1st time dub feels so good.
This feels like the perfect app game. Are they working on an Android version?
Was wondering the same! Would be great on the phone
Yessss... I have so much Google play credit I want to give them. Don't want it on my computer because I will waste too much "valuable" time. On my phone I can play when my time would otherwise be "wasted".
"Now do K-Dramas" was such a big W
😂

i haven't watched sean in ages, glad to see he's still making content. hearing his talk about game design and the rts analogy was great!
I wonder how long Sean will hold the potion that is killing him
Bold move to take on anime like that 😂
A couple months back I played this until the sun came up. Very addicting for a short while

So funny looking at all the items slamming in to day 9's head XD
Only backseating thing (tho I'm pretty sure Day9 understood it himself), its not that you get characters on wishlisting, its that its just "hey it'll come out in the full version, so please wishlist"
I found that super confusing too. They really should rephrase that :)

Does this song remind you of the inns in wow classic?

I had a similar feeling when he kept that pineapple in suboptimal position for several rounds.
careful! they're going to use this as a training set for an AI to replace bag packers! DON'T LET THEM TEK AR JŒRBS
First they came for the backpack rappers, and I did not speak out because I got no flow.
for some reason, or maybe because the game is too addicting that I feel it has some virus on the background D:

reynad
Oh neat. I’ve never even heard of this.
are they the same developers of Tavern Master? That's the same soundtrack.
LINO 37 🧀
it's like watching the most infuriating 3 year old in the world. "how do I get a lucky pig? oh I need 2 of these clovers? (buys a second pig) -> (doesn't buy the second clover) -> (breaks both pigs with a hammer)"
how do i get mana? where is my mana ? *hover over mana orb* *reroll*
He’s playing for the first time and he’s entertaining an audience as he does.
@@modiddymoBeing new to a game does not excuse refusing to be even slightly observant. Neither does streaming. The game is literally paused when you arent actively in a battle. There is no excuse for not reading/remembering in game tooltips/explanations.
I wouldnt be surprised if he does this just to make people like you write comments for engagement

Day9 just casually uses a 5 gallon water jug to refill his mug?!?
DUDE! Why? Lmao.
ysy
That endless backseating explanation is getting tedious.
Imagine how he feels then. Since he has to explain it all the time. You are lucky enough to be able to skip past it. Which I suggest you do.
Ugh. That click bait title..
What is this word "addicting" and how does it differ from "addictive"? Seems to be something new and i dont get it.

Most streamers hate backseating, whats the problem of pointing it out?
Someone has to teach y'all how to communicate effectively. Not that it's working, but the intent is noble.

Looks like an ugly mobile game ~
But plays like a quality game. I'd rather they cheap out on the visuals than the gameplay.
Day[9] is a Juggalo!?
I love how he speaks so much and still says nothing
gotta love when sean talks shit about somoething he clearly knows nothing about that anime take was trash
