Thank you Juva! I followed your tips for my TOEFL and it helped me get a total of 111 - R30, L29,S26,W26. I had very less time to prepare and your videos really got me through the exam. Sharing a few things that helped me if at all it will be useful for others : 1. Reading - strategy, understanding question types, looking for correct details. If we know the question type, it is very easy to look for the exact answers. And learning to move on from a convoluted question if I don't get it to be time efficient. 2. Listening - effective note taking. Active listening and taking an interest in the topics being discussed. 3. Speaking - you helped me a lot with a variety of starters which I used to struggle with initially. And practices to your videos with timers and practised on same topics multiple times to gain confidence. Forming last resort finishers to conclude when I run out of time and unable to summarise everything. 4. Writing with informed structures for each paragraph, things to cover, and ending it with apt conclusions. The academic discussion video also helped me a lot! And importantly choosing different phrases which I didn't have to think a lot because you had provided few examples which made it easy for me to come up with my own too. Lastly, appreciate all that you do, Juva! Educators like you on youtube must be cherished a lot. Keep doing what you do the best! Much love from India

I am wondering if you can explain the time strategy for the reading section. some people say it counts down to 1:30 minutes for each question and set up for the next question. bust most peoples tells me that 18 minutes for the first task and you can go back and the previous question in that time. please if you have any information about timing let me know.
I'm so glad you like it 😀. When I took the TOEFL, I saw a timer on the screen that referred to the whole Reading section, so it showed the total amount of time available for this section.

Hey Juva, I have a question. I want to study at a university which accepts either the toefl test or the ielts test. My problem with english was always the writing and the minimum score for writing to get accepted at this university is 24 in the toefl test and a 6.5 in the ielts test. After seeing your videos I kind of decided to do the toefl test, but after rethinking everything the 6.5 kinda sounds easier to achieve than the 24. Am I right or is the 6.5 in ielts about as difficult to get as a 24 in toefl? Thank you in advance for helping. :)
Hi, that's a great question! 😀 I suggest having a look at the writing tasks in the IELTS and the TOEFL. The tasks are different and you may find some easier than others. Then think about what you prefer. If you are comfortable with a task it's easier to score higher. I hope this helps!

I got one question regarding the writing section: As far as i know we got 29 minutes of time in total. Is the time to read the texts already included in those 29 minutes, or are the 29 minutes just the "net-writing-time" we got?

Juva I recently attended the tofel paper based through our college but we were not given clear instructions we were not allowed to mark(answers) I anything in reading section then during listening too the Inviliagtor didn't know rules he didn't allow us to take notes ,then finally for writing we had just 20mins also in which we are supposed to mark answers in omr but I couldn't Mark answers Even though I knew.

I'm so glad it's helpful 😀. The new TOEFL is shorter, I think it's the same level of difficulty. Don't underestimate it. For example the Academic Discussion Task is shorter than the Independent Essay but this also means that you have way less words to showcase your English skills, so you must impress the TOEFL with less words 😀

Hi, I'm so glad you like it 😀. TOEFL Reading is shorter than before but the question types have not changed. Regarding the integrated task, try to paraphrase whenever you can because this gets you points but don't worry if it's not always possible.
My internet connection was unstable after I finished the reading section and I ETS said that if I wanna take the test again you must pay again 😢 Has anyone experienced that ?

The TOEFL Home Edition is a scheduled test, just like the TOEFL in the test center.

You are not allowed to do that. I recommend memorizing the template before you take your test.

That's correct, the Independent Task, which included agree/disagree questions, has been replaced.
No, it's just that they ask it in the academic discussion task; if you agree to your classmates or not.
