I find that using in ear monitors is so much better in my throat than I don't use them. It helps to relax the voice and throat with straining to sing over a band because I can't hear myself.
Hi Angie, this video was very good and good examples, i felt what you mean no use your throat but your head and your long retain the air and from the stomach is where the flow of air will come out into your vocal cords effortless. many other teachers said the same as you but your explanation make a lot of sense, i followed your exercise and i felt the difference. I have to master high notes as soon as possible i needed it. how do you think did Elvis presley, he was poor growing up, there was not you tube, but he was very observative.
@@OdekePaulGracious that’s so great to hear!! It’s a game changer. We have a new course coming out in the next few weeks specifically on high notes or dm us if you’d like some lessons to fast track things. 💪
@@TheSubwaysurfer hey - Gu is to help stop the chest pulling up. It is a tricky one. Most of my clients can’t get that one for at least 3-6 months. Maybe try with a Goo first or a gentle fry? You can always book a session in the linktree link if you’d like more specific feedback. I’d need to hear what your voice is doing to guide you through the steps to unlocking specifically. 😊
@@dowtube1 that’s great feedback. The tools actually work for both. I have more male private clients than female and find the tools are very effective for them. I’ll pop a note on our session recordings to do one with a male demonstration next time.
@@lisaromero8303 Thankyou for giving your opinion. As a novice, my observation was, some people (males) are "naturally" blessed with the ability of a broad register. It is not everyone's cup of tea to try and sing very high, and thereby develop vocal cord injuries such as hematomas and vocal nodules. How much can a male voice inch up the register on high notes by proper technique, I sure would like to learn
@@dowtube1Generally those people who can sing high notes more easily don’t have as much tension in their jaw, throat, neck muscles and therefore naturally doing things we are not doin, like correct tongue placement, shape of mouth opened, breathing/support etc. In other words they are doing most of the techniques better than the rest of us without realising it. But they can improve too if they have good coaching. E.g. They might already be operating at 80% while we might only be at 15% before coaching. Just like some people are naturally very good at skate boarding or surfing, but with a coach they’ll improve even more.
How do i know if my singing coach is right for me? With my current teacher, im worried there are better ones out there, and i won't progress as fast with her. I think it's more likely i just have a lot of improvement to get done, but i am concerned
@@MrBubbyG_Official hey :) it does depend on your teachers methodology. And what your goal is. There are a lot of exceptional teachers out there, and then there are lots of teachers practicing on students. Bottom line is that it takes time to train muscles so nothing happens fast.
@@leepshin hey :) there’s a few things you can do to develop vibrato. It’s basically just moving between 2 notes quickly. So you can try singing slowly between two semitones then sped it up as it gets easier. Or I like holding a note a pressing your diaphragm quickly. You get the feel of vibrato and eventually start to be able to control it. I’ll do a video on it in our next round to. 😊
@@josephnicholas9812 great point Joseph. I’ve found that most people have locked up the muscles in their throat (tongue tension - dysphonia) so we need to unlock that tension first then the breath is effortless and free.
When you say the high notes isn't thinking up, but it's going front and backward. Do you mean you're hitting the sound to the roof of mouth from teeth, middle of roof of mouth to back towards soft palate?
@@ladyofstar13 hey :) yes. Great illustration. And as the notes go higher it actually feels like they are going out the back of your throat - low - you will still feel the sound hit the front of your mouth also - everyone feels it slightly differently - Interestingly it’s the front, the back, the larynx adjusting in your throat, diaphragm engage and tongue adjusting shape all at same time -

Thank you very much for the vocal techniques. The “Gu Gu Gu” vocal exercise is challenging but so satisfying.

Women can break into falsetto without being noticed, so I would have really liked if the technique had been demonstrated by a male singer.

When you use the diafragm to increase the volumen, you talk about pushing, but do you mean pushing it down? Or pushing it up?
How do you work on "vibrato" in your voice? I have a problem with that.

You’re forgetting that locking the lower abdomen is the first problem for constriction. Breathe must move to keep the throat relaxed.
