The aircraft carrier is 337 meters long, 76 meters high and 78 meters wide on the upper deck. It has 25 decks, 4,500 sailors on board, as well as 75 to 90 aircraft, mostly F18 fighters. This giant has a displacement of 100,000 tons and can reach a speed of 30 knots. Its construction began in August 2005, and it was handed over to the US Navy in 2017. It had its first task in October last year, and in May this year it began its deployment in the North, where NATO exercises were held in Norway. At the end of June, she sailed into the Mediterranean Sea, and soon after she entered Split. Now the 6th Fleet is also the closest to the Black Sea, and the Ford is the closest aircraft carrier to the war in Ukrajine.
