- This week I'm playing with FW Acrylic Inks and seeing how they react to water, to layering and to mark making with brushes and a dip pen.

Loved this!❤ I have never tried acrylic inks. I might start pretty soon. Thank you for sharing!🤗
They look lovely.
So beautiful!❤ Love the different effects you created. Quite inspiring ❤
Thank you so much!
Love these
How fun
I love using those inks with a Kakamori brass nib. I spray the watercolor paper with plain water so that there are some dry portions on the paper. Just love the effects
Ooh, just had to look up that nib, it looks lovely :)

❤❤❤❣
Lovely! Love the painting with acrylic ink. Thanks for sharing!
My pleasure 😊
Really interesting effects, love them. One suggestion, if you dont mind me saying, is after shaking the ink bottle loosen the lid, and squeeze the dropper a time or two, as the ink can thicken in the dropper and come out in a blob. I love the colour choices too. I also have a warm grey that looks lovely too. Thanks Lou, i really enjoyed this, and I'm looking forward to seeing where it takes you 😊
Thanks for the suggestion, very helpful! I learn so much from you all :) So glad you enjoyed it!
Absolutely loved this Lou! The bleeding effect is amazing 😊
Thank you - yes the effects are really beautiful.
Now I have to go buy some more acrylic inks. :) Thank you, beautiful piece!
You are so welcome!
Thank you, I've been thinking of using acrylic inks instead of paints for a project. Thank you for this video.
Glad it was helpful!
If paint is creeping under a tape, go over the tape edges with your fingernail or with the the edge of a ruler or the edge of a palette knife.
Thank you
Really interesting and I can’t wait to try it. I’ve had some inks on my shelf and I didn’t know what I wanted to use them for and now I’m off to try this 😀
Thanks! Happy painting!
Wonderful video! I loved seeing your experiments.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
I am so inspired! Thank you so much!
Thank you!
Really enjoyed this, thanks! Loved the effects you got with the dip pens.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!
these look fantastic, I love the metallics ☺☺☺
Thank you - yes I love the gold too :)
Totally love this so much! Thank you!
You’re welcome!
Oh this looks like SO much fun! I have some of these, but I've yet to test the lightfastness of them. Found a tip somewhere ages ago to buy some BBs, clean the oils off really well and add them to the ink jars. It helps to mix the paint easier. I love experiments! So glad you have a curious mind. All of these were beautiful in their own way, but I have to say that the tentacles were my favorite! 😊 Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you (what are BBs?) So glad you enjoyed the video! I liked the tentacles too - now to try and reproduce that effect!!
@@LouDavisBB's are the ammo that goes in a kid's BB shooter. You could also get little ball bearings at the hardware store. They are good to put in any liquid art supply that may need mixing well.❤
@@LouDavis BBs are ball bearings. They come with oil on them to prevent them from rusting, so clean well with alcohol. If you place a few into the alcohol inks, it helps stir them easier and faster. -Like they used to do with fingernail polish bottles. (Not sure if they still do)
Loved this, Lou !
‘ I hope I am not encouraging you to go out and buy acrylic inks “…hahaha….😂😂
Really enjoying your series of experiments ..thank you !!😊😊
Thanks so much 😊
Thanks!
Thank you so much, very kind of you!
Ah these are delicious! I do have some acrylic inks already but don’t love the colours, yours are much more to my taste. Do you remember where your dip pen came from and if it was expensive? I’ve tried a couple but they’ve been so scratchy and unpleasant to use that I relegated them straight to the random mark making toolbox. Yours looks like a pleasure to work with!
The dip pen wasn’t expensive at all. I got it at a local art shop though so don’t have a link for it. I’d try a few different nibs and see what you like, they’re usually pretty cheap.
Natural sepia is black/brown, alternatives are made of brown madder and olive green.
Thank you, very helpful
Really enjoyed this!!
Did you have any trouble with the ink drying on your brushes or the dip pen nib?
Thanks :) I made sure to clean them straight after using them because it’s very difficult to clean off if you let it dry!
@@LouDavis yes that’s what I thought. They are very beautiful and flow so interestingly.
Hi I'm new to your channel. Have you tried any of the pearl inks?
Hi Welcome! No I've not tried them - they sound fun though!
Where did you get the skinny masking tape from?
She has it listed with a link in the description.
@@Decopainterandtea Thanks! I always forget that the description exists 😆
