I find the Googin soft baits far superior to anything in their hard or bladed offerings. That Bandito Bug put in the work for me.
When it comes down to comparing their whole line of baits, I would most def agree with you!!
I've been running the Bandito Bug as a Chatterbait trailer lately and absolutely slaying some bass.

@@Shanester66 horizontally for now in cooler temps, it helps it fall slower so I can slow roll it. In warmer weather I rig it vertically so I can reel it faster.

I appreciate a TH-camr having the undercarriage to do the review you did on a Googan Squad product. I feel alot of other TH-camrs are so intimated by them they feel the need to tickle their tonsils with their products, and I mean that in the deepest sense of the word. Never fished one and never will, and still get plenty of big fish. I'll watch anything to maybe pick up some good info and saw one of them in Brazil get a peacock bass that the guide said "18 pounds* then shook off real fast - they never do that on a fish that size, it's measured and you get some pics before releasing. The fans went wild, "He did you dirty", "I'd have thrown him off the boat"... those guides are tough as nails, there'd be no kid throwing anyone off the boat. I checked my boga on freeze frame and it was a 14 pound fish. You can only imagine the back story of what the guide was offered for a big fish, etc. without the cheesy music and slick editing. Just found this channel where he actually holds the cheese, subscribed.

Before giving up on it. From what I understand about the bait you can adjust for depth on it like like how a crankbaits bill is positioned by adjusting the wire up or down on it. Do me a favor if you try it again by adjusting the wire on it and let us know of your findings. Thanks
Good review - very honest and good points about the details of the baits. I have a couple on order myself, because like you said, I couldn't resist the temptation to try them. I did hear ahead of time they had trouble rising, so ordered the 1/2oz models instead of 3/8oz. I'll let you know my thoughts once I get some time with it on the water. Thankfully I only spent like $6.30 each, so not a huge investment if they fail for me!

I respect that you didn’t trash it off top. I like the googans and I’ll even say yes the bait rides up, It’s pretty much a top water. Now I do enjoy the action it gives the trailer but i fished it for 2 weeks straight and it is also not my favorite bait. Great vid and nice fish! People get too worked up about the word “googan”. Just use the stuff you want to use. If googan catches you fish, great. If you hate it, use something else. In my last video on my channel I used a googan crankbait and caught a bunch of nice fish. Does that mean I’m gonna go out and replace all my crankbaits with googan? No. But I’m gonna keep using it cause it obviously works. Like a famous googan once said “just shut up and fish”

I've been treating it like a swim jig, when the waters a bit murky and the sun's shining but the don't want a chatterbait. Like they said " hybrid" Is a very accurate description

One thing the clickbait markets that I don’t think you knew was that they say to bend the arm, one direction makes it go deeper and the other makes it rise
You may not like the squad however there products are both affordable & they catch nice size fish.. there frogs got me hooked on there products.. at the end of the day if they catch fish, & light on the pocket it a win win & people like what they like..

I tend to like a decent amount of the Googan stuff i have used, the clickbait i got a couple of them on sale and find I prefer a regular chatterbait as well. Love the honesty in the reviews, that's what is needed in the industry.

I picked one of these up about a week ago and caught a decent size pickerel a few days ago probly about 19" and tonight just before dark caught 2 decent bass about 15" inchers. I was trailing it with a regular (not straight tail) 3.5 inch swimbait Works good for me. Maybe a chatter bait would kill even better lmao. I was also using the 3/8ths weight and it was staying down in the water good for me

I got one as a Christmas present from a coworker, horrible action, the red color was nice but it just straight retrieved, maybe I'll try a different trailer or try and get it stuck in a tree who knows.

I think it being on one piece and not a clip like other chatterbaits helps it come through wood better and not get snagged as much. I can see that it may get snagged in grass more. I will agree that it doesn't stay down that well. I haven't tried tweaking it yet though.
Their orange clickbait (sunrise craw I think) has done wonders for me in my local area....for pike lol. Threw on a chartreuse Zoom twin tail trailer to get that really nice perch profile and the pike love it. Haven't caught a bass on it yet though. It did take me awhile to start to like it because I did think it was a chatterbait at first.
I know this is a 2 yr old video but you can bend the main wire to get them to run lower in the water column. Look around on youtube for a video of it. I consider it a tweak like fixing Rapalas, spinnerbaits, buzzbaits ect that require you to adjust how the bait runs. I wanted to hate the lure but it catches me fish.
Googan hard baits.. I don’t care for them. But Googan soft plastics are awesome I absolutely love them. They are designed really well and the action is really good.
When it comes to cranks, I’m a 6th sense fan! And I agree with you, they make some great plastics

That was my biggest issue with it but I actually bent the wire to change the blade angle and it definitely helped keep it down in the water column, sort of like tuning a spinnerbait. I will say though, I still prefer the original chatterbait over everything, including the jackhammer. I just get more bites on it
I like the soft plastics they make. They're squarebill isn't to bad either.
They had a big display of them at my local Dicks. I decided to get my hands on a few Jackhammers as I never really owned any of them. Heck I still throw the Original Chatterbait and they still work.
It says bend the arm up to run deeper. You can’t bend the arm enough for it to not rise to the surface after three or four turns of the reel handle.
I knew it! I had one in my hand today and literally found some on sales thunder crickets for $9 two rows down. Guess which ones I got?

If you’re asking about the jackhammer, I can understand you feeling that way! They look it, but I have never had an issue with one. Never even bent one. I still throw jackhammers from 3 years ago lol. But I’ve become a fan of the Slobberknocker too
The bandito bug is the only Googan that impressed me. So much in fact, I bought the mold. I've always felt like their youtube influencers got famous before their lures did.

So I watch this video when it came out originally but had not seen the clickbait in irl yet only video's from other's like yourself. Well my little got a MTB a week ago and guess what was in it! Yes the clickbait, so I went to a private pond where I there us a ton of coontail with my little sister and we took the Jackhammer, the OG, and the Clickbait along for the ride. Watching your made go and do my own research on the clickbait so I knew how to use it and it is different... it has a coolness factor to a more experienced angler who would be in to baits that are "adjustable", but I don't think it is a bait for a novice just to open from the package and throw.... they will be very disappointed. Now the clickbait did go through the coontail really well and so did the others as normal. All three caught fish that day, but the clickbait feels different than the others and acts different too. So I agree with you that it is not for everyone. I think it has it's place and I do plan on trying out some more this year and seeing how it goes. But it doesn't replace the OG, nothing will in my mind... 😁
My question is this, did it put out any vibration at all? Because if it does it could be very effective on highly pressured lakes where everybody is throwing a jackhammer? And maybe with the 1/2 ounce model it wouldn't rise up as much? Don't get me wrong it would take a lot to get me off of a jackhammer or thunder cricket, but just wondering if it vibrates at all it may have a unique sound that would work on highly pressured fish? What are ya'lls thoughts, I didn't even know this bait existed until I saw this video.
Not hating on any brand I use it and the original z man and jackhammer for different types of water. Mainly I use the clickbait in shallow areas and when I don’t want alot of noise or action.
I had the same problem with them riding up, I just noticed on the package it says to bend the wire to make it ride downwards

I saw some today in a clearance bin for $3... So I got a couple... I put a Z-Man DieZel Minnow on it (So much for the straight tail LOL). I agree it does NOT run deep at all! But what I found (just a few casts off the dock) is you can almost fish it like a buzzbait, which is cool (just under the surface/occasionally breaking the surface). I could feel the "clicking" through the line/rod. I will pick up a few more for $3. I can see it having a place for what it is.. And like I said, for $3, I will get a few to have.

man, for me, I prefer the 3/8 oz in almost all my chatters. I fish a lot of grass and shallower areas so it's the best size I've found. Deeper water though, I'm gonna go 1/2 or bigger
I totally agree with everything you said about the bait. I thought it was supposed to be a chatterbait also. What got me was the colors. Im a sucker for the colors its my downfall.🤦🏼♀️

People who aren’t avid anglers or stick to one brand for the simple fact they have a following on a certain platform or because of the name, don’t understand the amount of baits and jigs and rods and reels you have to go through before you something completely works for you. I have crank baits and jigs I’ve used that I do not like but other guys love them. I don’t stick to just one brand of lure or anything. Some baits catch fish off the bat and some you have to fish a certain way to get results. I personally prefer lipless crank baits and jigs but everyone has a preference

I've honestly never bought a googan product ever but I fish totally different conditions. I'm on the coast of California.. I love chatterbaits but I lose them a lot because if I slow roll them over under water structure and hit it with the bait I can catch tons of fish. Seeing how you have to slow roll this might be beneficial for me. I'm going to pick one up just to see. My hopes aren't high but if I can work this slow over structure it sounds cool.

Man mine was thumping hard but the rise was the problem after I tweaked it by bending the blade it seemed to stay lower longer and haven't had it in grass yet

I think the clickbait works very well the first time I took it out I caught three fat bass from 2 to 2.5 pounders by casting in the same spot for an hour not to mention the water temperatures are still very cold where I live

As someone who has nothing against googans or their baits, which I don’t use often but some are pretty decent I was kinda digging the was this looked but was not happy with the performance . I feel your review was accurate and I had all of the same experiences with the clickbait
I think it’s just a different bait. They try to present it as a chatter bait but it’s not. If you compare it to a chatter bait, it’s not as good. But if you use it as it own style of bait in its own unique situations and scenarios it does well. I use it for the ponds that I fish that are straight muck. It stays higher in the water column while as not having to burn it in, making it not get hung up. Allowing me to throw more than just a weightless plastic in that scenario.
Awesome take on it Spencer! When I first did this and fished it, it wasn’t for me. But I think I’ll eventually do a follow up on it 🤷🏻♂️
It's definitely not a chatterbait. As a matter of fact it's something else completely in my opinion. It's more of just a scrounger type bait. No sound, not much vibration, and does not stay down. However, the bait action is interesting and I think will work in shallow clear/lightly stained water. It has good action.

I was using a KVD crankbait got multiple bass like 7 from a pond next day got the googan squad ghost gill match the hatch right?? And bam a drum a 9lb catfish and then 5 bass…..love them both but just got one of these and…..no bites yet lol
Lol it’s not my style of bait. And when I got it, I was unaware of ‘tuning’ it. Caught me a good one! But for how many fish I was catching that day… it wasn’t delivering like the other chatters.

I agree the lure is a little wonky. But I think you could probably burn it if it was like 1\2oz cause you said its a 3\8oz right. Like maybe it will sink better?
Very possible! And, to be fair, when I had the lure I didn’t know you could ‘tune’ it lol
I say straight out of the box they may well have been buzz baits. They ran so close to the top of the water for me. Even the 1/2 ounce. My video I said to trash them. But I have taken the blade holder on the head and bent it almost flat and will retry that. Out of the box the angle is about 45 degrees. Now mine is 180.
I was pretty skeptical of the clickbait after this video but I caught a 4 and half pounder (PB) on my 5th or 6th cast using it, with a yotoworm trailer. The action is crazy, but it definitely rises a lot in the water. Can't reel too fast.

In defense of googan ur holding ur rod tip pretty high compared to your buddy. Try holding ur rod tip down with it. That being said, I make my own chatterbaits and they work just like an og zman, but I can reel it as slow as possible and get vibration if needed. I have a few clickbait but rarely throw them

My only problem with the googan baits it’s the uncompetitive price. They’re consistently 10-30% more for the same thing. But the clickbait though was 75 cents cheaper than the zman of the same weight so today i was going to buy a half ounce white zman Chatterbait but ended up with a white half ounce clickbait for a little cheaper. It’s the first time I’ve ever seen a googan product that was cheaper than the competition lol
I had a conversation with a guy earlier who thought I don’t like any of their stuff. And my guess is, this video gave him that impression lol. I don’t dislike all their stuff, but this wasn’t for me. True, it caught me a BIG, but fishing that same lake that day with various other baits, it didn’t compete. Now I didn’t know you can bend the wire to tune it, at the time. So mess around with that! But when it comes to chatterbaits… I’m the guy who buys the jackhammer lol. I just consistently get better results off that. Now bank fishing, that’s a different story lol. I’m not tryin to lose a jackhammer while fishing the bank 😅
@@OklahomasWorstAngler i have a few honey holes near me where the fish are unbelievably aggressive and always feeding so i can catch them on anything so I usually just get the cheap stuff although i have some very expensive swimbaits
I fished one over the weekend for a solid 4hrs, multiple adjustments that helped slightly but in the end it wants to rise to the surface. Honestly didn’t like it, was not a fan of the overall action.

Man! Slow rolling a chatter bait along the bottom on a 95 degree day can change everything! I even hop them off of the bottom, sometimes slowing down is the key! But good video!
Oh I’ll do that all day with a big jackhammer! And this isn’t a BAD bait lol, it caught me a pig. But it just wasn’t my style, and at the time I wasn’t even aware about being able to tune it lol

i use almost nothing but googan baits but other brands too we all got our preferences and opinions
I started out that way. New guys come across these vids and think I’m a hater, cracks me up! I use to use nothing but them too, but grew out of that and started to find more variety. There’s guys in the squad I don’t care for. They make a lot of good stuff, but in my opinion, this isn’t one.

Once the blade rides up the shaft it's forever useless! In my case it happened after two fish. I had two and gave them away. Saved 3$ each and replaced them with Z-man original chatter baits.

Why? Why would anyone with a tiny bit of experience, purchase Googan baits ? All the Googan lures were someone else's idea. They are just copycats .
