@Tutu Flave Loma is good by any standard and probably one of the best in modern times, but Sugar Ray Robinson would eat him alive. In his prime, Ray had one loss to Lamotta who Ray ended up beating 4 times. Do you really count that as a loss still? And didnt loma just lose his fight a few days ago? Maybe not but still, his record isnt as impressive as youd think by watching him on a good day
Mark Breland was arguably one of the best Olympics amateur boxer in history. I'm quite sure his amateur record was more impressive than Muhammad Ali's. 5 golden gloves championship titles before he even went to Los Angeles in 1984 to capture the Gold Medal! He was hyper- hyped during his career however, but thats because he had alot of people looking out for him. They protected him during his career. They helped Mark to retire with some money in the bank to live comfortably on for the rest of his life too, which I'm sure he appreciated! So he didn't end up broke destitute, unfortunately like some Black fighters! Good for him! However; When he went pro, it was discovered he, possibly partly because of his lighter frame he couldn't take that much punishment from more vicious and tougher Pro fighters, than the fighters he fought as an amateur. When dudes are fighting for their livelihood, their harder to dominate and knock out. Still Breland was a phenomenal fighter, who was complimented by some of the best fighters in the ring, like Sugar Ray Leanard and Thomas Hearnes. Breland actually sparred with Hearnes as amateur as well as other pros, so he was already a seasoned fighter when fighting in the Olympics. He had a smooth, sophisticated style that suited his body type! He was an exceptional "Sharp Shooter", with extraordinary boxing ability! One of the best Welterweight of all time! My complements to you Mr. Mark Breland! Peace!
@@SuperMurray2009 His achievements are every bit impressive as these guys. Loma stayed an amateur til 26. Its just who you like better. Brelland 110-1. you can put up all kinds of stats and accomplishments but it just comes down to an eye test. You like strawberry,i like blueberry kind of thing.Went 35-3 as a pro so lets not down play that as well 2x welterweight champ.
His movement, footwork and angles, were sharp af. They way he slid in and out of range and unloaded then slipped back out. Class
Agreed. It's too bad he had a jaw made of cardboard.
Dude saved Wilder from Brain Damage
And then got fired for it...smh.
100-1 as an amateur. The greatest "til this day"
@Tutu Flave Yes you are correct. Sugar Ray Robinson 86-0 too. Three brilliant amateur fighters.
@Tutu Flave yep he is a legend

@@MrVook Sugar Ray Robinson was the best that ever lived. No doubt.
@@Marcburg21 Cannot disagree my friend, one of a kind!! :)
Looked him up after Wilder fired him. Didn't even know he was an Olympian. Looks like a match made I'm heaven for Wilders body, style.
Yeah but wilder don't listen. Imagine if he soaked up everything. If wilder moved like this??? With his power? Cheat code bro.

Angelo Rosario He is great but you have better fighters in amateurs like Donald Curry and Vasyl Lomanchenko
