oh hey, Many Worlds Tavern is a *real* sponsor of this fake vlog and the 1st 100 people to use the code PAULA10 at checkout will get 10% off their first order! manyworldstavern.com/ (also, the coffee is real tasty, I've drunk three bags worth of it already)
i'm not a coffee drinker but i have a friend who is...gave them the site and the code which they ended up using...and many worlds sent them a personalized video thanking them for their order...never heard of any company doing that before...certainly makes them memorable
Well this explains why I didn't see meeples in the coffee bag being ground up. I was expecting to see that with the punchline of you pouring a large cup of coffee and calling it a "Meeple Grande".
I'm not a coffee person, but I just ordered a bag for my favorite coffee lover. I support what they stand for even if I don't enjoy coffee. Thanks Paula and thanks Many Worlds Tavern!
4:19 I went with you on that journey of the mysterious "red" cube. I was there for the confusion at the beginning. I was there for the height of potentially finding its matching game. I was there when I saw that it wasn't the same red cube. I felt that pain. When you said "damn", I too said damn. Such a moving piece of work that you have done.
OMG, I have the same coffee grinder as Paula Deming!!! I can now display it proudly and take it off our shelf of shame! Brilliant video! If my shelf of shame had all the games I taught a rule wrong for... well, I would just call it my board game collection!
Interesting. Usually when me and my friends talk about a shelf/box/closet of shame in regards to games. Its referring to the games/miniatures we buy that are never gonna get played/painted and just sit there, but we can't bring ourselves to sell/get rid of.
Video was great (as always). I just wanted to comment on your excellent choice of coffee gear! That kettle is getting me through this Pandemic! And I had that same grinder…until I broke it…
As shelfs (shelves?) go, that's not so bad. All those can hit the table pretty easily except for Fog of Love. Now that I think about it, if they're easy to hit the table, more shame to you! :)
Much smaller shelf of shame than ours. We can’t play Carcassonne with the catapult expansion ever again unless we want a blood feud on our hands. Those D&D 3.5 books brought back a lot of memories. Lol, been a forever DM since those days. I was more nervous to introduce my wife to our d&d group than to my parents.
The real reason that Calico belongs on a shelf of shame is that the publishers apparently know that cat's exist but don't know what they look like. Every time I see that cover, I wonder why it's not named "Tabby."
I loved the red cube "might" go in 1775, wait no it isn't quite the right shade of red gag. I'd have laughed if it were and that was that but it being wrong was even funnier
I saw a large Box in a Charity Shop about 5 years ago called Hanky Hanky. I had never heard of that game before so I bought it. When I got home I opened the Box. I won't tell you what was in it but it wasn't a Game.
My cat prefers to lay on the game in progress. Eastern Europa was not prepared for the devastation caused by her nap while playing Scythe. Also, there is nothing in the rules of Terraforming Mars about heating the planet via kitty snuggles.
5:22 Ha-ha!! Seriously?.. I don't believe you!!! ))) Because it's a great interesting short game and it's an aggressive one at the same time. And of course I don't need to add it has amazing art (because everyone knows it). You must try to open it once again if you haven't really done this yet! ))
NGL, you had me in the first half. I was like hol' up, how can you possibly have 7 Wonders: Duel on your shelf of shame. It is like the best 2 player only game ever. Clearly you aren't the gamer I thought you were if you never played 7 Wonders: Duel. Turns out I was played and unlike some of the friends mentioned in this vlog (I assume) I don't mind it. :)
My shelf of shame includes: A game which I lent the rulebook to a friend to get them excited to play the game with me and then I moved and they never returned it, and now I forget how to play :( The boxes for Dominion and all it's expansions, but they're just empty boxes because my brother took all the cards, says he "plays the game more than me," except for Alchemy, nobody ever plays with Alchemy :( :( All of my Warhammer 40k miniatures from when I was in college. It was a phase...
My cat scratched the heck out of my board game lids :( I have 7W Duel pantheon from a friend who doesn't want it back, still unplayed! Paris city of lights is great, not tonnes of replayability
At the end of our game night playing black orchestra during the critical die roll (regarding the killing of Hitler) one dice (the deciding dice) rolled under the sofa and we were too exhausted and afraid to decide if we roll again or if we look if the dice under the sofa was a success or not. To this day we didn't look and every time someone is cleaning under the sofa or tries to move the sofa for some reason everyone is screaming STOP and we say as an insider joke "don't wake up Hitler". Maybe some day we are ready to look if we played 3 hours just to fail on the last die roll or if the whole game night was a success. But for the moment we are just cowards and decided to "look the other way".
The sad part we all don't realize is, she took that red cube out of a game for this video and now truly doesn't know which game it goes to. You flew too close to the sun, Icarus...
It's so obvious what game the red cube goes to and the shame of not being gamer enough to grab the correct box (passed right by it previously in the video...omg!) and using a Calico box ("cough") when EVERYONE knows Isle of Cats has the superior box for putting a cat in. I just can't even with this video....
Cats! Mine won't sit in any box at all. Also, my thinking is that your red cube is really a magenta cube that's also a liar & that's why you can't work out where it goes. I had the same problem with a fork once.
I have a drawer of shame... It is where I keep risk and any other games I own from a time before I learned about how good board games could actually be.
I thought it was going to be about games you were ashamed to own and didn't want others to see when browsing your games collection.. Shelf of shame indeed Paula! SHAAAME!!! EDIT: Also, adorable cats

Love that they support great charities!
i'm not a coffee drinker but i have a friend who is...gave them the site and the code which they ended up using...and many worlds sent them a personalized video thanking them for their order...never heard of any company doing that before...certainly makes them memorable
Well this explains why I didn't see meeples in the coffee bag being ground up. I was expecting to see that with the punchline of you pouring a large cup of coffee and calling it a "Meeple Grande".
Thank you for introducing me to a new coffee, Paula! Just placed my order and looking forward to giving it a try. 😁
I'm not a coffee person, but I just ordered a bag for my favorite coffee lover. I support what they stand for even if I don't enjoy coffee. Thanks Paula and thanks Many Worlds Tavern!

Brilliant video! If my shelf of shame had all the games I taught a rule wrong for... well, I would just call it my board game collection!
I loved the 2 red cubes that just didn't quite match. LOL
Oh my GOODNESS. I WHEEZE laughed at this. Your writing is always brilliant but gosh this one is just TOO CLEVER.
hehe thanks Crystal!!
Started out feeling so jealous that your Shelf of Shame was so small. Then the comedy began. Well played, Paula. Well played.
Love it. "can't get my cats to sit in this box. I've tried."
this makes me want to reorganize my collection by experiences
That red wooden cube goes to Archipelago as a meat resource. LOL
Oooooooor to Fresco as a pink paint resource.
Lol. That caught me off guard in a good way. I was totally expecting something different. And you always find a way to surprise us.
The Paris game is great! Easy and quick to play.
Interesting. Usually when me and my friends talk about a shelf/box/closet of shame in regards to games. Its referring to the games/miniatures we buy that are never gonna get played/painted and just sit there, but we can't bring ourselves to sell/get rid of.
3:10 the red cube goes to Dominion Renaissance
Great stuff as always! Thanks for making me laugh while I have my morning cup of coffee! :D
Great as always. You had me at Kermit. :) And the ending....perfection.
Love Many Worlds Tavern coffee too and love Dragon's Nest! Our shelf of shame.....crying now...so many games on it.....😪❤❤
To be honest, I was not ready for the final punchline. Well played Paula, well played.
This was absolutely hilarious. I was not expecting any of that when you mentioned shelf of shame 😂
Such good acting here I laughed, I cried I was right there thinking about the missing piece.
Was expecting the coffee bag to pour out meeple
Brilliant. Just brilliant.
Video was great (as always). I just wanted to comment on your excellent choice of coffee gear! That kettle is getting me through this Pandemic! And I had that same grinder…until I broke it…

I needed a laugh today. Thanks Paula. 😂
Also: Brilliant acting! ❤️
Paula you are freaking awesome. And now I can finally have the appropriate coffee for game night!
Try the “isle of Cats” box. Much bigger and deeper. Though our cat, Ariel, still prefers to sit on the game board while we’re playing.
Frog of Love would be the best game! Great segment!
:D
Embarrassing shelf, sure, but I'm in LOVE based on the shelf below. Excellent taste!
What a twist lol!!! Love this sketch!!!!
You my friend are a great story teller! This was great!
Great video. I always have a solid laugh watching your videos.
Love the Battletech books! That shelf looks amazing!!! Be proud and embrace it hehe.
so *this* is what you mean by "shelf of shame"......
and I *was* so proud of having nothing to shelf here.
I saw a large Box in a Charity Shop about 5 years ago called Hanky Hanky. I had never heard of that game before so I bought it. When I got home I opened the Box. I won't tell you what was in it but it wasn't a Game.
Lol that went to some very dark places......loved it!
Awesome, again :) as always. I love it.
You must try to open it once again if you haven't really done this yet! ))
I finally worked up the courage to start throwing all my board games in the garbage. no one will play with me.
Beauty! Tres bien! I can’t stop laughing!
That coffee making montage was spot on. It's essentially a requirement for any vlog.
hehe thanks!
Great video Paula!
So unexpected and so funny, loved it
The alternative title for this would have to be “Paula Deming Exposed (by Herself)”.
Red wooden cube maybe from "Eclipse?"
My shelf of shame includes:
A game which I lent the rulebook to a friend to get them excited to play the game with me and then I moved and they never returned it, and now I forget how to play :(
The boxes for Dominion and all it's expansions, but they're just empty boxes because my brother took all the cards, says he "plays the game more than me," except for Alchemy, nobody ever plays with Alchemy :( :(
All of my Warhammer 40k miniatures from when I was in college. It was a phase...
You're so creative! I adore watching your videos, and just want to thank you each and every time for making our day!
aw, thank you so much!!!
This was wonderful. Nothing more to say than that!
My cat scratched the heck out of my board game lids :( I have 7W Duel pantheon from a friend who doesn't want it back, still unplayed! Paris city of lights is great, not tonnes of replayability

this is an amazing story
"I don't like to think of it like a Shelf of Shame, I like to think of it like as a Shelf of Opportunity"
That’s exactly how I see it too 😎
you'll quickly learn that nothing in my videos is canon ;)
@@PaulaDeming This response now has me wondering what is truly canon in Demingverse. Scary stuff.
You are so brave. No judgment here (except for maybe The Little Flower Shop story...).
look, we ALL have a shelf of shame just like this. JUST LIKE THIS.
...right?
So you would prefer a reality where her grandmother had really died?
@@TaohRihze no, haha! It's just that maybe Paula could have found a different copy :D
My cat is more likely to sit in box lids that are upright, as opposed to top of the lid on the ground. She a weird one.
Haha this one was great and clever!
I was a bit worried when I saw two games from my significantly smaller collection on that shelf!
The sad part we all don't realize is, she took that red cube out of a game for this video and now truly doesn't know which game it goes to.
You flew too close to the sun, Icarus...
hahaha you don't know how true this almost was
Everyone should have a shelf of shame. Especially for dice because they know what they did.......
Great video as always! I feel like I need to make 2 shelves of shame now!
Always entertaining. Ty
Took me way too long to catch the joke, which subsequently killed me. HI. LARIOUS.
Goodness. Fantastic work, as usual!
I love the comments from those that didn’t get the joke.
Haha, nice! Great twist :)
hehe thanks!
I was really wondering where you were headed with this one and then BAM! Comedy gold, so good.
I really wish I would get to know you in real life and play board games!!
Best video yet!
They got shelves too! :)
3:10 I’m guessing it’s a wine cube from Grand Austria Hotel
sadly no, as I do not own Grand Austria Hotel
Cats! Mine won't sit in any box at all.
Also, my thinking is that your red cube is really a magenta cube that's also a liar & that's why you can't work out where it goes. I had the same problem with a fork once.
You never hit a home run if you don’t swing. Thanks for sharing
Paula, get Paris played, it's really good! Love to know what you think?
You're a rare gem of bg comedy 😅👌
I'm afraid once conventions are possible again, everyone will call Paula "Kermit" from now on.
I've done it to myself. I have regrets.
This feels like an /r/boardgamescirclejerk post and I'm here for it.
Gold as always! 😂
I thought this was the shelf of shame because you hadn't aligned your game boxes appropriately... I mean, that's my shelf of shame.
I have a drawer of shame... It is where I keep risk and any other games I own from a time before I learned about how good board games could actually be.
Totally crushing on Paula haha. Stay safe Everyone!
OPEN PARIS. IT IS A LOVELY GAME.
There is no shame in winning a game because you forgot to teach a rule, my friends are used to it now
Excellence! As always. :P thought the sponsorship was a joke - glad its not
I'm calling you Kermit from now on
Hexophobia. Now I have a diagnosis. Thanks, Dr Deming :)
Now I'm wondering how many takes it took to get the cats to not sit in the box. CGI cats? It just doesn't seem possible.
Red cube is from Fresco?
Actual shame ^^. Puts the last one in perspective beautifully.
I have 11 unopened games on my shelf of shame
Nice twist 😎
Your cats are broken, my tabby has napped in every boardgame box I own, even the ones she can't fit in.
just as I suspected
Is that actually your shelf of shame tho? If so, you really need to play 7W Duel. Also, try the Isle of Cats box for the kitties; it’s bigger 😉
Always Hilarious from the Queen of DxM 🙂
Shepard had no part of that box
Bravo for your courage. It's not easy to share this kind of things. By the way ... what about the game that I loaned you ?
Shepard cannot be shepuuuurrrrrrded!
hahaha
I thought it was going to be about games you were ashamed to own and didn't want others to see when browsing your games collection..
Shelf of shame indeed Paula! SHAAAME!!!
EDIT: Also, adorable cats
I love your cats
i think i can help you with your hexiphobia lol Great video Paula! Stay uuuuum Hexy? lol
