As a devoted ford guy I agree with you. If you said ford fe to either of them, they would of just looked at you and blinked. That's a 390 not a 427. You can tell the way the coil sits at a 45 degree angle. The 427 coil set straight up and down. And those are clearly 390 valve covers.
What is the Vin # or at least the # in the Vin if its a X it's a 352 if it's a S it's 390 if it's a R 427 if it's a any thing else a small block came out in the car
It's a 390. On the 352 there was a wide gap between the fuel pump and radiator hose. The 390 the radiator hose is right next to the fuel pump, and the coil sits right above at a 45 degree angel. The 427 was set up just like the 390 except the coil set straight up and down. On ford FE engines always check the fuel pump it never lies.

The 1963 model year was the best looking ford of the 60's.
Nice car 🏁
It originally had the big steering wheel because of the manual steering. Gives a little more leverage.
Beautiful car priced pretty fair
My first car was a 63 1/2 , 289, auto...
Had it from late 69 to late 70', which was my SR year in HS.
My dad had one of these.
This is what a car should look like. Today’s examples look like one of Henry Ford’s nocturnal emissions.
Great cars guys!!
Nice Ford
Look for the 4 bolt mains
Love the used car jargon, you know nothing about the difference amongst the Fe series Fords.

@@mgtoman1 or a straight 6
"Be-lived to be a Ford 427 4bbl casting # C4AE A" But really it's a 352.
It's a 390.
Hey guys thats a 390. Trust me I know fords, and at just a quick glance I can tell you thats a 390.
Not a "fastback" It's called "hardtop convertible"
Exactly I'm glad there's somebody out there that knows this isn't a fastback
Wrong, if you pay attention they explain it well enough. The 63 early version was referred to as a box top.
@@charlesdowell4505 still not a fastback
@@KenHackathorn-m2v suit yourself
@@charlesdowell4505 ok
that's not a 427. probably a 352 or 390
You just wish you could afford
Front emblem says 390
