Great editing, and good tactics from what I can tell! As someone who's trying to do this sort of thing, this gives me a lot of hope, and not just in the creation side of things. You've gotten a good amount of exposure by posting it on reddit, which was what I was planning on doing as well. Anyways you got another subscriber out of me. :)
I love how the Garrison makes the tactical mistake of not holding the forest pass. It’s very realistic of their fears in being skirmished to death by a better regimented/equipped/experienced(from pillaging) force. 👍🏿 Great attention to Strategy. But I also advise you read up on napoleonic tactics for future videos…
Hey saw this on Reddit, really like what you're doing with the Baz Battles style worldbuilding. Some constructive feedback, I put this on 2.0 speed and it still felt quite slow at times, since you aren't doing VO (totally understandable) there's large amounts of time where not a lot is happening that might normally be filled in by narration. I'd both drastically increase the speed of these videos (1.5-2.5x) and also add some more fluff text during the battle if you can. Can't wait to see more!
Hiya! Many thanks! For the background and Fides city itself I used a software called Wonderdrat. For the actual video, I used Davinci Resolve to simulate troop movements by keyframing them:D
Cool video. I've been thinking about doing this style of content as well, and after watching your video, I am wondering what lead the defenders to committing their entire army to a pitched battle outside the walls? I feel like an 8 minute vs a 15 minute video, if I knew a bit more about your world and the characters (commanders and whatnot), it would add a lot to the experience and I'd get to better know your creation. Also, I wanted to know more about the weapons. When I see infantry formations shooting gunpowder clouds I don't know if they all have muskets like Napoleonic or if it's Early Modern pike and shot. And who doesn't like oddly specific accounts of various weaponry and cheeky dudes worrying about a relief army? Straight up my dude, this is my scheme, it's a niche that I think has potential. You can maybe even go from youtube to a show or a book or something. I'm thinking 30-60 minute videos, do like a solid campaign. I think maybe perhaps it could possibly be the case that people like seeing characters duking it out and rectangles doing things dramatically. Also, if I had a few key events in the battle, that would have added a lot to the experience. This was a pretty cut and dry overwhelming with numbers. I always like to see a bit of cleverness with the terrain, or minor battle objectives, or intelligence stuff, some developments to the battle or siege with dudes in funny clothes taking themselves very seriously.
Thanks! I have been recently expanding the lore and stuff with characters with my main series. My other videos also have a lot of more story compared to this one haha! As this vid was kinda like a test to see if it could work. The weapons is kinda Napoleonic :D

What technology do the conflicting parties have.
In general, I associate the cool work you do with Reddit.
Hiya! The technologies of both parties is around 18th century. Muskets, Cannons and all that :D

I see you are well versed in fantasy mapping software. Would you recommend some free software for me?
@@vincentslayer1459 For sure! Inkarnate is one of the best! Although the free version can be limiting sometimes
