there is an infinite combo all within the precon: use Satya, lighting runner and Aethertide Whale. tap Sataya and runner, copy the whale with Satya to get 6 E. you get 2 E from both runner and Satya then pay 8 to untap and get that extra step, repeat this
2:30 you actually have infinite combats on board because you can generate 8+ energy by attacking lol. But I think that’s more of a problem of the extra combat card
there is another infinite in the deck, whirler virtuoso, izzet generatorium and gontis aether heart. have 3 energy pay into whirler to make a thopter, it enters gonti triggers giving 2 energy izzet gives 1 making 3..rinse, repeat infinite thopters. even better if you started with enough energy so that after you make 1 billion thopters you sac gonti take an extra turn and swing. its a fun way to win lol
Hey idk if you said this but you can also use etb triggers to get a lot of energy built up like emissary of soul fire or amped raptor but for amped raptor it doesn’t trigger the “cascade” like mechanic since you didn’t cast it but ran emissary of soul fire yesterday got around 5 energy doubled it took a extra turn made more energy and board wiped but not really with with etb triggers by destroying enchantments and artifacts probably a better way to run it than I did but dang it was beautiful to see it creating so much energy I made a 25/25 token creature lol edit :also theirs a benefit with soul fire if you attack only with you commander you can put exalted counters on your other creatures next turn at least 2 making him a 5/7 making it a bit harder to block to maybe get it through since it has menace
So, my second night playing this precon. I won 1/2 of the group games. Did you know there are 8 other cards that you can substitute aether refinery for in this deck that will also combo with the Satya and Lightning Runner to make enough energy to keep taking combats? Some even give you surplus energy
Izzet Generatorium works just like Arther refiner, makes less bit still enough to get 9 energy 3 from Satya, 3 from Lightning Runner and 3 from it's copy
Blaster Hulk, Aethergeode Miner and Sphinx of the Revolation all make 2 or more energy when they attack which is enough to get you to 8 or 10 energy to have enough to get repeating combats
Aethertide Whale and Scurry of Gremlins also will give you enough energy to repeat combats, but you have to copy them instead of Lightning Runner to activate the energy you gain from their enter the battlefield effects. You'll also get extra energy each time and 2 more gremlin tokens each combat from Scurry if Gremlins
And Aura Shifter will work too by copying lightning Runner. So I misscounted, that's only 7. But there are plenty of other ways to set off this combo. These are just the ones where you only need 3 cards
At 3:34, if i attack with both creatures and i trigger Satyas ability to copy Lightning Runner, does the ability copy of Lightning Runner also trigger?
The new Lightning runner will not trigger because it entered attacking, however subsequent combat steps the copy will trigger as it goes from not attacking to attacking and creates a trigger
Quick question, in the last combo when you go to your second combat and would untap the copy of lightning runner. Would that previously tapped and attacking token have summoning sickness for the second combat now that it isn’t tapped and attacking?
Dude Ace that’s actually an amazing question. I think because lightning runner specifically has haste, yes it would be able to attack, however if the copied creature did not have haste it would not be able to
You don't need to generate extra energy to make Satya and Lightning Runner combo off. All you need is 2 energy going in (which you can get if you attack with Satya the turn you play him). Satya can make a copy of Lightning Runner, which in itself gives you 2 energy. So it goes like this. Turn ~4 you attack with Satya and get 2 energy. Turn 5 you attack with Satya and Lightning Runner. You get 2 from Satya, you copy LR (which gives you another 2), and you attack with your original LR which gives you the last 2 you need. Next combat, you make another copy so you have another 8. Then 10. Then 12. It's a 2 card infinite combo that just needs 2 energy in the bank to kick off.
@snarlbuckle creatures that enter tapped and attacking do not trigger their "when X attacks abilities", you would need another source of energy or a greater reserve to start the chain
I actually feel like you played the deck before making the video instead of just trying to rate the individual cards. I play in a group that plays only unmodified precons to keep things balanced. After playing last night I feel like most people reviewing don't get how the cards are supposed to work together
aetherflux refinery is honestly not worth its mana for the effect. 6 to double energy, when a majority of our repetitive energy generators give 1 - 2 energy, getting only 1 or 2 energy for 6 mana vs the izzet generatorium, which gives you your energy +1, for 2 mana is much better. your much more likely to have the mana for izzet generatorium, then for the refinery for a good part of the game. this precon out of the box suffers from the typical too many overcosted cards mana wise, so the refinery is one of the first cards cut just due to how ineffecient its mana curve is for the returns, compared to similar cards.

That finisher combo is nuts, especially with a card that can give your creatures indestructible!
Thank you. First time playing with energy. Keep up the good work
5:03 PSA to everyone you should always goldfish decks even precons

Thanks for the video!!
Hope it helps

Found another, Stone Idle generator also works for this combo

@@GSIron Cool, I was thinking the same thing but wanted to make sure 👍🏽

I always play the deck before I make the videos cuz
@GSIron you'd think it was a requirement but apparently not for some other tubers 😂
