Holy smokes Opelka. He must be working on his movement - he's so quick!
For such a big dude, he does move well.
Slow steps but when you're 6'11", each step covers a whole lot of court. He's winning rallies now, great stuff.
But terrible to watch this hacking Lumberjack. Nothing but destroying the tennisballs.😢
@@janoelfke1004 Tennis is diverse because we have the lumberjacks, the mouse runners, the counterattackers... If everyone was like Sinner, the sport would be very boring.
@ I do tense up a bit when he slides though.
The serve speed gun has been faulty in Dallas this week, but flagging that Opelka serve at 9:33 as 85 mph (137 km/h) is probably the most ridiculous thing it's done all week (not to mention it also switched to 62 mph mid-rally)
Shapolalov's backhand is beautiful
Camera angle is tad too high
So high we we have the feeling they hit the balls like gods, even if compared to us, it's quite true, when we see a match, live, for real, it's not the case.
Right!
The ground level angle was perfect already, why switch to the high angle ?
I think it's bc they now play in a football field
Gotta be high enough to not hit Opelka in the head...
7:20
This should be a more common strategy in Men's tennis. Moonball to step-in flat groundstroke is a great combo for some players.
that's exaactly what alcaraz did in the final of Roland Garros
true. lots of players are very bad at handling moonballs
This is what I've been doing in club tennis to beat better players in both singles and doubles. This and ghosting in following a high ball the opponent gives up court position to take have worked wonders
Behold, you've figured out the Young Nadal's original strategy, even nastier because he was a lefty.
I've never seen such a big guy (Opelka) move that fast. It’ll be interesting to see if he can maintain that intensity over a full five-set match.
machac has got some serious power holyyyyyy
Hoping for a resurgence from nishikori this season🎉🤞
Doubtful
@wilf18 real tho😪
Shapo playing so well is really beautiful to watch! That backhand is like a perfect dance move
Shapovalov x Kecmanovic match was super high octane, both guys hitting the ball as they lives depended on it !
Nishioka needs every win that he can get. He was happy to win against Nakashima who has more power. I bet that Nishioka's coach told Nishioka to occasionally use moon balls to stay in rallies. Nishioka hits too many short balls and often gets overpowered.
6:40 and 6:42 - good to see the chipped shot thrown in there for variety. Go Dennis 👍🏼
Nishikori lost, but Nishioka won. I don't know whether to be happy or sad.
Nishikori on a great day can challenge everbody nishioka on a great day winn 3 Games against a top player
@@KenanZlatic-mt6wd Yes, but Kei's "great days" ended about 5 years ago.
@@HeavyTopspin
Yes becsuse of injury but still Nishikori is sometimes dangeous not like nishioka
Nakashima lost too
@@KenanZlatic-mt6wd Yoshi just took out Tiafoe and I wouldn't be shocked if he follows up with an upset of Ruud tomorrow.
Opelka and Fritz are brilliant
Did the commentator just said Potato Fritz???? 😂
Timestamp?
go Nishioka !
Rinderknech getting another nice flight home delivered by T Dawg yet again. Hope he never lives it down lmao
11:24 Jesus christ that serve is insane. GOod luck returning that. However good luck relying on that on wimbledon match point with pressure
Bravo sa❤❤❤
Let's go shapo🔥
❤❤I❤I❤soy❤
Shapo 🔥
5:00 nice touch from Ketsma
Kecmanovic was crushing the ball
1:49 - Switched off too early....
I wonder if Fritz wished him a safe flight home
hahaha if you know you know
Bravo op❤❤
Kechmanovich and shapo having the best match of the highlight is wild. Love seeing the super offensive from kech though! Didn’t know he could slap like that!
he slaps like this every match
Miomir got a really, really good backhand when he is on.
@@alexandre2797 really? I’ve watched a few this one actually stood out
@@Nessaj87 his fh was ripping to
@ yes he always plays like that, look at his match against Alcaraz in Miami
Why didn't they show the WHOLE Fritz and Rinderknech handshake? 😢
Great game Taylor. 👍
Machac played too well! Rest up well and do well next tournament,Kei!
Keep the court-level view on for a bit longer, it is so much better
Constanța România felicitări ❤❤❤❤❤
Opelka 🇺🇸🇺🇸🔥
Nice fast court. What happened to Kei? Injuries and age?
What’s up with the bird view camera? A bit higher and it will be a helicopter hazard.
Let's go Nishioka.
Thanks for the 10 seconds of court level view. Is it monetized yet?
What is up with Machac and his shorts man
Nice job, RALLY Opelka!
They should show country/ranking next to their names
Recently...shava,,aiass...canadian is improving... congratulations..good
I am not canadian.. am south korea
Always found Opelka was a fantastic player, why is he 136th in the world ?? Injuries ?
Yeah
I felt that dallas was juicing the speed gun. Now I'm sure they are doing it. When was Nishioka able to serve 130 mph?
The Nishioka/Nakashima handshake very telling of the cultural divide
thanks for the Memories Nishikori
Why is the commentator always pronounces the name from Machac wrong
10:00 are we moving into the age of the gangly tennis player?
10:45
background noise way too loud and camera angle way too high, and this is atp 500 quality?
its america
Did you naturally complain this much growing up or was it more of a developed trait?
@ i like to lure dummies like you to comment
@@jellomonster531
You do get tired of hearing it, especially for the grand slams
As a top 4 why is fritz playing 250s still?
If anyone other than Sinner, Carlos, and Novax has a chance at a slam, it's Fritz. i put him above Zverev. Machac will have a place in the top 10 I'm sure. SHAPO NATION. Nishioka is on a NISHION. Opelka DOMINATED Shevchenko.
Is Dallas a Fast Surface ? Is it Faster than Rotterdam ?
Looking at the thumbnail (bottom, left), I thought Nadal is making a comeback 😅
GO Chipotle!
Why such a weak field for an ATP 500 event? Also the balls & courts seem to be faster than that marshy Rotterdam, nice to see winners being hit & servers get good purchase...
Most top players are either playing Rotterdam rather or they're skipping this week for other tournaments
Monica seles is the GOAT, Federer is too
if Shapo was more consistent he could win a Grand Slam. Huge backhand, forehand and great serve but mentally he is like Verdasco,, also lefty amd mentally weak.
this high camera angle is a disgrace for the sport
Davis cupから西岡キてね?
明らか調子がいい
It would not be very much fun to play Opelka.
Hope he has a safe flight home
А где рукопожатие Опелки и Шевченко? Вам что, хронометраж на ютубе ограничили..
Machac is an evil narcist
Fritz can't even win an event when the best are not there . Feeble minded 🤡.
shapi shaped it
まあ錦織選手はいまはこんなもんだよ。正直もう引退するべき。周囲が許さない感あるだけ
And I bet shapo will lose his next match
