- The New 52 was an interesting time to be a Superman fan. They changed so many things about the character, but the comics were still enjoyable to read for the most part.
When it comes to New 52 Superman figures, there have been a few, but nothing from McFarlane yet.
This week I'm setting out to change that!

Just a couple suggestions - I think that maybe using some thin strips of epoxy putty would make for a much nicer effect than the uneven blobs of puff paint (I use Kneadatite/Green Stuff, but I've heard that Aves Apoxie Sculpt is excellent). Also, for painting red, I'd suggest doing an undercoat or two of white on what you're gonna paint red onto for a more consistent colour as the red on the belt is much too bright compared to, say, the revolver joints on the wrist. That technique hasn't failed me yet. Of course, the optimal method is disassembling the figure and priming everything with either white or grey, but that's probably kinda overkill.
Thanks for the insights! I've been playing around with some clay, put the epoxy putty sounds incredibly intriguing. Could I just get some at a hobby shop?
@@superheumann A hobby shop is the perfect place to go to - since I live in Australia my hobby shop selection is limited, but I've had success in that regard, as most hobby shops and even specialty shops for model railways and wargaming stock various brands like Miliput and Green Stuff World here. You could probably just go into any hobby shop, wargaming shop or even just order some online!
Note though, not al epoxy putties are created equal - some are water soluble and others are alcohol soluble, some are more flexible and others are more rigid, so I'd suggest doing a little bit of experimentation.

I've got a few questions on the fabric paint: Can the fabric paint be trimmed with an xacto blade to make straighter lines and can it be sanded down for a more even application? Great job on your custom :)
I’m not sure about the sanding, but the cutting works for sure. It dries as a plastic so it’s pretty versatile.
A good headswap for page punchers superman is the rebirth head but with a longer neck peg and the head warmed up and punched so its slimmer, but nonetheless you made an awesome custom
That’s a stellar idea. I’m just waiting for the Page Puncher to hit clearance and I’m going to experiment a bit more. The bodies are awesome on those figures.
Can you paint Arkham Knight and fix his tigh issues?

For me I am not a fan of his new 52 redesign look from the rebooted days of dc I liked his reborn suit way better from rebirth I heard we're getting that particular figure soon in a 2 pack with cyborg superman for all i know pal.
I love the Rebirth suit too with the belt and yellow buckle. I hope the rumor of the figure is true.
Seriously, I don't really like the rubber cape that this superman figure comes with, the propose of the cape looks really werid
I'm starting to experiment with cloth capes. It would be interesting to see how it would look on this guy.
What a way to ruin a perfectly good Superman figure. I actually like the color tones of the page puncher Superman as well as the overall look. It gives him a "noir" look, new 52 is something I would rather forget.
It was an interesting time in the comics for sure! a lot of questionable narratives.
