Don Gay was the best rodeo announcer ever. You can tell he's taken his share of lumps and been around it all his life. He sure made it entertaining with some of his lines.
Have followed your Rodeo career as well as other members of your family 😍. Your heritage / genetic code must surely spell cowboy as I have watched several generations come up through your familys’ dynasty of building cowboys to compete on the national stage of Professional Rodeo. It is a lot of hard work & tenacity with scrapes and broken bones, and even with a ‘rodeo family’ to help teach, there is no guarantee of prize money or World titles. It is a way of life and you either love it or find another profession. Thank you so much 😊 Don Gay for making or re-making these video’s for others to enjoy via your U-Tube channel (I’m a tad older so not quite sure of the proper terminology🤔). It brings back a lot of treasured memories when my dad competing in a Saddle-Bronc & Roping and then later, as a Pick-up man or working the chutes or someone needing a farrier. Rodeo was a family drawn close by the love of livestiock & competition & family joined by those values were cattle ranchers and cowboys who worked their livestock, homesteads, small farms and rural residents. It is and was built on hard work and strong principles. I was watching a loose documentary of the PBR members and quite a few had never been on a horse and had no intention of ever riding one!!Im still scratching my head on that nugget of truth, I believe the current 2 time World Bull-Riding Champion used to be a professional Soccer player and was drawn into Bull Riding for the pay💰cheque. Pretty amazing how it has become a Professional Sport and even just 20 years ago that concept would of been met with a great deal of skepticism.
