Oliveira changed his fate relatively "late" in his career, when he was 29 years old. If you take your life as seriously as he did with his career, you can change despite of whatever your fate might look like.
Connor is funny when he's messing around. He's never said his name with Charles. Charles would knock him out. Big fights tho Charles earned it. Max Holloway should be next
Charles was the last to believe he was the best in the world and now he will probably be the last to stop believing it. That's why he always comes out as the underdog on the odds and still is confident no matter who they put in front of him. I honestly don´t know if he is the best or not, but what matters is that HE believes it and it shows. A true inspiration.
I feel that he just dropped for the mental pressure against islam. Someone who trades punches with Dustin Poirier who is a much better striker, getting knocked out with his guard down...
Worst part is, when he jump kneed, he had no footing and if you watch it back, notice how his knees buckle because his feet hadn't even properly landed so they went out from under him. Had he not jumped first, he might have still gone down as it was a great shot but that just guaranteed it as he couldn't even brace himself while he was still securing his footing.
His striking defense is very suspect. Really needs to work on that. He gets dropped in all his fights, only difference was Makachev actually followed him to the ground
After everything he's been through and what a rough life he's had, still he was able to accomplish such incredible things. Showed millions that anything is possible if you want it bad enough. To me Oliveira is the true GOAT.
Truly an inspirational story, I agree! His goal was to show people from the favelas they didn't need to turn to drugs or a shady lifestyle, and in the process he showed the whole world
This is one of ur best man, all of ur videos touch me. This one in particular. I didn’t start succeeding until I found people who also believed in me and those people are the people at my mma gym. This is incredible stuff man, one of ur best man. The editing on this vidoe is top notch espeically. Excellent work as always man, I always wanted a charles oliviera video from u, this is as good as it could have been. And I’ll be sharing this with everyone I can.
You've talked about the pygmalion effect in one of your previous videos too and it definitely works 💯. I used this in an Arm wrestling tournament and managed to do well, just by having faith, killing all doubts and making sure that if u lose, it's the opponent who's beating u rather than self-doubt.
Love it bro. You have a great memory, and I'm glad I'm able to provide value! It is my goal to make everyone who comes across my videos improve in their life, and reading comments like this is why I do it. Thank you so much for checking out the videos my brotha!
Great video bro! This saturday i've got another upcoming Muay thai fight and this is my exact problem in training. I would sometimes freeze up under pressure during sparring. Literally everybody in my gym is telling me to stop doubting myself and that i would become the champ. I have been my own worst enemy for the longest time due to past experiences and inner demons. My biggest weakness is my own self-doubt. This video has just confirmed to me that come saturday i will get the W :)
i got a muay thai fight this saturday aswell gl you got this belive in yourself man think of all the high level pros you have gone against and done well against and take confidence in that now go and get that W
The great thing about the Pygmalion Effect is, you can manipulate it to your advantage. By exerting confidence you are portraying your self-image onto others. They start to believe in you and exert that belief in you back to you. You can create a flywheel effect like this. Always keep your mind strong. So even in the weakest moments you can display strength. Love your videos 🙌
The timing of the video, after islam vs volk fight. Is perfect. I believe charles, would be champion again, never too late, time always been his alley, long journey but big accomplishment. Legacy.
I agree! But even if not, he has had such a great story. My number one request in all of my videos was to analyze how he switched his mentality - I believe it's because people who are lacking confidence want to know how they can do it themselves. Hopefully this helps them out!
Probably my favorite most fun time in mma history. The most incredible run ive ever witnessed. Hope he gets the belt back. If not then it was still special to see
You might not see this comment but this vid actually helped me a lot. When I first started my PhD program I had the mindset that I was still an undergrad and as a result I struggled in the first few weeks and thought that the coursework was too big of a burden to overcome as the level of difficulty of assignments was a large jump ahead and thought that everyone was much smarter than me. After a while I started changing those thoughts to that of not only am I a PhD student, but that I already have the PhD already and it helped me gain more confidence and as a result I have been consistently performing above average on exams. The results are reinforcing this new image of myself.
I read every comment, and I truly love hearing things like this. The intention of this channel is to try to distill information that that benefit people in whatever walk of life they choose. I'm happy to hear it has helped, and I'm proud of you for doin the damn thing on such a difficult path!
He made 11 wins in a row after the birth of his daughter. It was his daughter who gave him the aura of a champion. I wish the most interesting fighter victory at UFC 200😁
This happens to me too since my last first lost n due too over confidence n feel like i win the fight thn i lost by TKO n every fight i get in i don't hav tht mental of winning anymore n i always feel like i wasn't good enough 💔😢
What a great video, I myself have written papers on the Pygmalion Effect and applied to my mentees. It's polar opposite, which you called negative bias, can also be called the golem effect. Which is the self-fulling prophecy that low expectations leads to low performance. I'm glad you introduced it to the masses, it's a powerful tool to use not just in business, but with friends and family that need support.
I remember when a female friend of mine gave me a boost saying that she believed in me at the time. She went off to the military and I never saw her again. However, because of that boost I got into the best shape of my life at the time. I lost it because I started to believe that she was lying about a lot of things, especially to her boyfriend. After finding out some irrefutable evidence about things she lied about, I think that was when I started backsliding. Now I'm fighting to get in even better shape and mental health than before.
great video Oliveira is a diffrent person now even if he never regains the title if chute boxe never belived in him and helped change his identity he never would have been ufc champion in the first place he had the skills to be the best but he lacked the self belif to get him there
I read your comment about having a muay thai fight coming up. You got this!! Just remember, everyone great you've ever looked up to has experienced doubt and nervousness. The only difference is they went out there and did it anyway
@@PsychologyOfTheFight just got done with my second fight it was an exhibition but man the nerves where way worse then last time went up against a guy with way more experience back and fourth fight he crushed my body with bodyshots and i landed some nasty head kicks
A lot of people say it’s because he had a daughter, I think that is true but don’t forget that he also got divorced around the time he started his rise to the title. That motivation must’ve been different.

@@PsychologyOfTheFightdoes this mean tony will finally win his last match
Him submitting Gatche after being called a quitter is something i’ll never forget! Legend!
The way he dismantled him. He was on demon time. My favorite fighter.
He shoved Gaethje too, when he was limpless and apparently out. Connor said a funny he said you weren't out just playing lol
Connor is funny when he's messing around. He's never said his name with Charles. Charles would knock him out. Big fights tho Charles earned it. Max Holloway should be next

Almost shed a tear watching this. Oliveira is my guy. Needed this. 🙏🏼

Bro this almost made me cry, this guy is perfect example that its never too late and that those who failed the most, also have the most potential❤
Dude your creativity and progress is so evident in the work you continue to put out! Keep dropping these inspirational bangers 💪
Thank you, Bing bing, I will keep at it!
I feel that he just dropped for the mental pressure against islam. Someone who trades punches with Dustin Poirier who is a much better striker, getting knocked out with his guard down...
I think it has more to do with his chin deteriorating
Worst part is, when he jump kneed, he had no footing and if you watch it back, notice how his knees buckle because his feet hadn't even properly landed so they went out from under him. Had he not jumped first, he might have still gone down as it was a great shot but that just guaranteed it as he couldn't even brace himself while he was still securing his footing.
Though him not having his hands up was the reason he was dropped in all his defences islam was just the first to capitalize
He wasn't even that bad on the ground against islam but if he wants any chance in a rematch he needs to polish his striking
His striking defense is very suspect. Really needs to work on that. He gets dropped in all his fights, only difference was Makachev actually followed him to the ground
Charles casually speaks so fast in Portuguese it’s incredible. What a beast.
He also says that becoming a father ignited a fire inside him, that helped him push himself towards glory.
This was soo beautiful bro.. Thank you soo much!

Fighters after they get knocked out.
