READ THIS PLEASE! (added september 15th 2012)
Because of all the questions and comments on this video, I decided to reply to some of the common one's.
1) Shilas is a 11-year old Gelding.
2) Shilas is a purebred haflinger horse, 1.56 meter high.
3) I'm training Shilas for 4,5 years now.
4) Shilas has his willy out because that is his way of telling me; I'm relaxed, i'm happy with what i'm doing, I love working with you and this is how I show it. I understand this is funny or a bit gross to see to many of you, but it's actually a very normal gelding-behaviour. I think many people don't upload footage with horses doing this because it's concidered dirty, but I think it's just nature and normal. At least, i'm used to it! :)
5) Shilas is a experienced show horse, which means that he performs. Eventhough he's a showhorse, all the tricktraining you see is PLAYING. I hate calling it working, because it's just having fun with your horse on his way. Ofcourse, we train as well to improve or get stronger, but I still see it is fun and playing.
6) I'm 19 years old and i'm a horse trainer for 5 years now!

I can't believe this amazing video is now 10 years old. I still remember how I felt when I first saw it, it's so beautiful!
Its insane it has already been so so long. I can’t believe it…
1) Shilas is a gelding 2) Shilas is a haflingerhorse 3) He is 11 years old 4) He doesn't think i'm a mare, he always dangles his willy out when we train or play. Many geldings do this when they want to tell you; I'm relaxed, i'm happy to work with you, I am enjoying what I do and this is my way of showing it. I understand it's funny when you see it, but you'll get used to this behaviour haha! Thank you all for the lovely comments, amazing!

endangered means their numbers are rapidly decreasing. extinction means there is NONE in the entire world. horses are extremely common and are not at all endangered.

I never had any lessons from other trainers, because back when I started this training (around 5 years ago) there where just a hand-full of trainers in the netherlands and I didn't even know training tricks had a name, haha! Basically, the horses where my teachers, since they showed me what I did wrong and what I did right!

I love my horse candy who died about 20 years ago, he and I was one, and even to this day I never stop thanking the Father for him, I only wish there was something we could do for these poor horses today who are treated so bad, they are so special and needed and these fools today only want to make money off them, and they will never know just how special horses are, candy and I are both from Louisiana and we love taking long walks in the woods, he love me playing the harp for him,

See! This is a perfect example, we don't need complicated bits and bridles to exceed these dressage moves! We don't need extremely expensive horses to achieve them, or pricey saddles. All you really need is a bond. Your horse needs to trust you and listen to you, you need to be patient and then this is your result. No spurs, just FRIENDSHIP

All horse lovers know exactly what is going on and can see the bond between you and your beautiful Shilas is incredibly special. I have loved your videos so much that I went out and bought my own Haflinger. He arrived today and his name is Louie. He is absolutely wonderful. Our hearts break already at the thought of anything bad ever happening to him. Your videos are inspiring and if I could afford to, I would send for you to come to Australia to be my own personal horse trainer. Lol!!!
