I’ve been inspired toward this style by using Dakota Warren, Downtown Girl, and Blair Waldorf (and Fran Drescher) as my inspiration. I love the 70s and even though this is 80s inspired it is heavily inspired by 70s style silhouettes. This was the natural progression of things. In the 90s (the recent 90s trend I mean [skims, clean girl, model off duty, those hyper minimalist styles) certain people took themselves too seriously it was minimalism to the extreme so ofc now people are bored (not to toot my own horn but I always found it boring and the only person to do it correctly was Carolyn Bassett-Kennedy) with it and move backwards to the 80s to add some “fun” and texture to something so classic (I call this style classic on my Pinterest boards). Unfortunately as a trend it will cause an uptick in real fur production bc that’s just how fashion works. Hopefully it works as a microtrend that will die out before fashion companies take it seriously. I think it’s sexy when it is authentic but I don’t think we should just hop on trends so easily. Take a few months before buying anything. That’s how you really know. Our world matters more than those few weeks of dopamine.
