Dancers, when did you perform at your first hafla? Or if you haven't yet, are you ready to "give it a go?" Share your thoughts and experiences. 😊

Hi Jensuya! I attended my first hafla 2 years ago. I'm from the Philippines and had been attending classes for a year when we got the chance to perform in a hafla organized by a belly dance group visiting from Singapore. It was nerve-wracking to be a beginner performing with other renowned teachers and artists in our country. It was also exciting and inspiring to meet and be part of the local belly dance community! 😊

Jensuya, do your arms get any energy or strength wearing arm or wrist cufflings.

Great question, Michael Joanes! I get energy from the arm bands indirectly. I'll explain. Feeling the arm bands around my arms reminds me that the arms are part of the dance. It makes me more aware of dancing with arms instead of focussing the dance only on the "belly." I also feel that costuming should be about the whole body being costumed, not just be a dress or a bedlah. And, funny, but true, the arm bands help to "firm up" flabbiness! 😂 Finally, the arm bands are just fun to wear! Have you seen our unboxing video about some arm bands that I wear?
