No mention of The Ark in Halo 3? You got tanks, warthogs, choppers, mongooses (geese?), prowlers. The driving portion isn't too long but the time you do get was a lot of fun. You fight everything from grunts to hunters to scarabs. A+ ground vehicle level imo.
Tsavo Highway+The Storm is my top vehicle level of the fanchise. 343 needed to take notes from it in Infinite. It builds to vehicle gameplay since the first level. You go from a lush jungle to an underground bunker/garage. Getting teased along the way by many vehicles showing up as support or scenary. Than you have this all out vehicle map that could begin and end on a warthog. Open spaces, loads of enemies and vehicles, and a need for that on wheels combat/mobility. And finally The Storm comes to merge the infantary and vehicle gameplay amazingly. Some times you are in open areas on foot- facing dropping tanks and ghosts. Others you are in a thight corridor sprinting on a mongoose. Pause for a whole level. Comes back with the Ark and Covenaunt doing god-like integration of vehicles on level sections. 10/10 best driving streach of the whole franchise. I thought the Road on Infinite was gonna be like that... but it was just a short line with a tank to blow stuff up. Compensating for how good the rest of the sandbox driving is.
Oh absolutely. The dynamic music, the triggering, the pacing, and the overall layout is amazing. There was no hard timer so you couldn't get soo far ahead that that things no longer matter. You always need to be at least aware that you need to be moving otherwise there will be no ground left to stand on.
13:28 I’m sorry, the only actual problem with Halo 5, is the fact it’s a mainline title. Make it a side story, going alongside a mainline title, similar to how Halo 3: ODST was done, and it’s instantly 10 times better. Take Master Chief out of the campaign, make it clear he’s doing something, keep Osiris, and you’ve got a game that anyone would like. Straight up, the only real issue, is that it has Master Chief as a player character, it was sold as a mainline title.
I see where you're coming from, but you're just so wrong. Halo 5 being mainline is the least of its problems. Even if it was a side game, the game play will have still been designed by 343, which means it'll be fucking shit, since they fundamentally don't understand how halo is supposed to work.
The Rocket monggose section was absolutly the best. The storm is one of my most replayed levels just for that part. Never used the ghost expect in the first section
@@Ghostman223 well after the first group of enemies you’re given a rocket hog, at the first AA gun you can hijack a Ghost, Revenant, and even a Wraith, you have to ditch your vehicle at an industrial facility that has a Zealot in it, after that you can grab another ghost or revenant, at the second AA gun there’s like 2 more wraiths, and then after that is a section where you use the grenade launcher turret on a falcon until you get to the spire, and even at the spire there are Banshees you can hijack. I’d consider it a vehicle level.
I think Glassed from Halo 5 is underrated as a warthog level. It's a fun warthog-centric level with a lot of variety in the engagements. You just have to separate it from the bad story and it's a lot of fun
Favorite vehicle runs, starting with the warthog run, halo 1 and 3 endings first, halo infinite ending final banished boss second! Favorite ghost run, halo 4 when requiems core goes haywire! Favorite pelican run, halo 4 when going after the Didact! Favorite longsword run, halo 4 when master chiefs mission to plant a bomb to destroy the Didact’s ship!
I'm awful at driving games, I'm a barrier rider, I tend to hug and bounce of the barriers on race courses when I do play them. That probably why I appreciate the Warthog from Halo so much, you are pretty much encouraged to hit things, with exuberance. It puts my limited driving skill set to good use. There is nothing quite like swinging the ass-end of the Warthog out and splatting an entire Covenant Squad in one sweep! All the while your mounted bullet hose is laying waste to another group of enemies nearby or perforating a flying Banshee! Ah, The memories!
Overall great video, i love yalls content and warthog levels are some of my favorite memories in the franchise. That being said, I think yall missed the point, or the progression, of the "warthog level". I think it'd be more accurate to call it a "vehicle level", and from there you can see a definitive "vehicle level" in each of the games that gets progressively more epic and awesome. So in the first halo, it was obviously the warthog run at the end. In the second halo, it was a Tank level in the form of New Mombasa. In the third halo they returned to the warthog run but amped up with the halo ring falling apart around you. (Didn't play ODST) In Halo:Reach the vehicle level took the form of the LongSword level, I mean you got to fly a freaking jet in space. So cool. Then Halo 4 had the ghost run that boosted the ghosts speed via cortana feeding your shield energy into the engine while everything exploded around you. And in Halo:5 in one of the last missions its a Tank Level, and pretty much have to be in a Tank in order to stand any sort of chance against the massive amount of powerful enemies, and the game even offers up alternative Tank options along the way in case your Tank blows up, which on legendary it probably will. Halo Infinite was such a let down in so many ways, but I was especially disappointed that they didn't continue the vehicle level trend, would've worked great in that sandbox but oh well. I love you guys' content, I love watching videos from passionate halo fans and discussing and thinking about halo. Thanks
Uprising was a great ghost level especially in the bit where you drive, in save some grunts from a jackal and then they get on a turret as a brute specter comes in and that's the point the music crescendos with the eletric guitar main theme and you're fighting like the specter and several ghosts. Such a good moment.
Something I just realized, I have NEVER played Quarantine zone on the ghost before in all the years I played through it since it first came out in the 2000s. First time ever it was because my pre-teen self spotted a new toy and wanted to take it out for a spin, then every single other play through since was because I wanted to keep as many of the elites alive as possible to potentially have a couple more for the gondola. I'm gonna give it a try because that looks way more fun!
I feel like having ce and 3 have the more iconic warthog runs was a smart move by both Bungie and 343 as it makes it all the more special when it’s more unique to those specific games instead of being in every halo like a stereotype
27:16 TBH QZ in halo 2 has the same wibe u can take a ghost, wraith, scorpion, specture, warthog... and if you are good enough you can hijack a gaushog and all of them are viable! you can have the same ghost from the start of the level to the gondola ( same thing with specture). back in 2004 these were illegally too many options!
My favorite is probably either the Ark or Covenant. Also, the rocket marines on the Storm are absolutely good. They have better accuracy than I've seen any players have.
Halo 3 tsavo high way pasenger warthog where you outfit all the marines with beam eifles before later giving them fuel rods. That lvl was always so much fun
There’s two linear Infinite levels with warthogs. The Road. And House Of Reckoning. House Of Reckoning also has an additional secret missile warthog. And then there’s some other levels within the open world that can use warthogs.
I hope that one day there will be a remaster of Halo 2 which brings back the planned Warthog Run ending across High Charity to the Forerunner Dreadnought.
The thing I figured out is that the little up arrow on the hud when driving a warthog, if you aim at it at an enemy, your AI soldiers will shoot at that target
Low key, The Maw is honestly mediocre as a level. The idea of racing a Warthog against time was a solid idea, but it ultimately was held back by the fact that CE's Warthog controlled like slippery ass. The Warthog's bad control sticks out a lot more here than other Warthog levels (being mostly tight quarters with lots of sharp turns.) Even the jumps that should *probably* be cool are kinda lackluster because half the time the damn vehicle doesn't stick the landing thanks to the wonky physics. Also just like the whole point of the Warthog is that it's a vehicle with a turret, the fact that the turret half is completely irrelevant is kinda lacking (you can use it if you play co-op, but even then basically no enemies really try to fight you anyway.)
In halo 2 after the library level (not pos8tive on name) the mission with the elite strike squad and the spectre would be what id clasify ad a warthog lvl bit 4 the covenant
I tried the halo 3 warthog run with the mongoose while doing a legendary run and i got stuck on a death loop and now I doubt I'll willingly try the mongoose on the warthog run again
Is it just me or does the banished ghost just look... Off... Like it's just a recolor but I think that's the problem. The color doesn't really match the design. I think maybe if the wings were angled a bit sharper and the back was flares at the rim like a shovel it could have looked cooler. Almost like an arrowhead darting through the air
Halo 5 might have been really good... If the forerunner and their weapons weren't so boring. The forerunner were just to tanky and the satisfaction of headshotting a crawler was not comparable to headshotting a grunt.
Does anyone else just never use the warthog longer than necessary? Like I understand I suck at driving but seriously even if I was blind I could shoot better than most marines.
Title feels too misleading since it ignores a lot of great levels. Especially given the fact the only vehicles it really considered for driving were just three out of the numerous vehicles that been present in sandbox...
I say Halo Infinite overall is more Warthog focused just because it's a great vehicle to traverse the large map quickly, while also being able to defend yourself, and that's just about the only vehicle that can fill that role for you for a hot minute unless you're the type to blitz through side content.
none of that matters when you compare how shitty they handle in all other halo games after the first CE.... why they ruined the perfect handling from the first is beyond me...
Learning how a Rocket Marine will react on the back of a Mongoose in Halo 3 is its own skill set.
It’s really you vs. the rocket Marine vs the covenant.
I always enjoyed kittingbup all rocket marines in pasenger warthogs
Man that level and those rockets. Wild ass level lol
One thing I’ll give to halo infinite is the marines.
Load up a scout warthog with 4 fucking rocket marines and go ape shit
@@shrimpguy6900 for sure lmao

Yeah the ark is such a great mission
It's Mongeese
To describe an escort of the vehicle because for some reason they use the mongoose and not the warthog for a Calvary Escort
The Ark would be an easy #1 tbh
Kat as driver is the hidden skull for true mythic difficulty
Yeah I thought she'd have traversal driving but no
She just has combat AI for vehicles
Tsavo Highway+The Storm is my top vehicle level of the fanchise. 343 needed to take notes from it in Infinite.

Far from the only problem with halo 5, by far…
I think mombasa streets should have gotten a mention, its awesome to drive around the map in a mongoose or a ghost
This was the first thing I thought of when I saw the title. Already commented it without watching.
I wish you guys did the Chopper, Spectre, Prowler, and Revenant because the Ark really slaps.
* one second of the Prowler Theme plays *
The Rocket monggose section was absolutly the best. The storm is one of my most replayed levels just for that part. Never used the ghost expect in the first section
Personally my favourite would be tip of the spear
That was a vehicle level? Didn't know it classified as one.

The Streets of Mumbasa is the best driving level in Halo

What about the mission with the Mammoth in halo 4. You could almost finish that with one if I remember correctly
You missed the ark, an introduction to several vehicles, a warthog level, a mongoose, ghost and chopper level, not to mention tanks.

Choppers got me through the wraith segment of the Ark before the dawn shows up, it SHREDS the wraiths from crazy distances
My favorite is probably either the Ark or Covenant.

Couldn’t agree any more
Halo 3 tsavo high way pasenger warthog where you outfit all the marines with beam eifles before later giving them fuel rods. That lvl was always so much fun
Dang imagine being one of those marines on metropolis just destroying covenant while master chief drives for you.
There’s two linear Infinite levels with warthogs. The Road. And House Of Reckoning. House Of Reckoning also has an additional secret missile warthog. And then there’s some other levels within the open world that can use warthogs.
Great video,as always!
ELIJAH YOU DIDNT TALK ABOUT THE WARTHOG RACE EASEREGG ON SWORDBASE (I think)
Love the content and wish you the best of luck for the future
Halo 5 campaign had fun gameplay. Most of it is well built and the experiences are varied.
I had a dream of one the warthog levels,it included the flood too, halo 2,I had a dream I play as the aliens. Then later on,I did.
What about the road in infinite
18:47
Drones can board vechicles?
I've never saw that before
What is the "gravity trick" you did in Tsavo Highway at 5:06 to get the Warthog over the gap?
I think if you had a gravity lift you could throw it down at the edge of the gap and use it to get to the other side. I never tried it myself though.
Low key, The Maw is honestly mediocre as a level.

we should rank halo games by the best teleporters both in use and aesthetic and by the best helmets or maybe best gas cans/decorative forge items
You don’t even need a grab lift for the highway jump. You can totally just make it if you YOLO it just right.
NGL The last level of Halo CE wit the WarHOg WAs one one the most legendary levels
In halo 2 after the library level (not pos8tive on name) the mission with the elite strike squad and the spectre would be what id clasify ad a warthog lvl bit 4 the covenant
Top Spectre levels when?
TLDR : Stakes bigger than ever, stakes bigger than ever, uplift reserve, uplift reserve
I tried the halo 3 warthog run with the mongoose while doing a legendary run and i got stuck on a death loop and now I doubt I'll willingly try the mongoose on the warthog run again
When do you guys go live on twitch??🤔
The last level of Halo 3 is always going to be my favorite vehicle level of them all.
Agreed
i forget what triggered the Chopper spawn on the Warthog run in Halo 3
19:49 FALCON PUNCH
15:28 all missions can be warthog missions.
In the past i managed to get a warthog into the center of silent cartographer
tip of the spear is an S tier warthog level
Just got here after completing all the parr scores on halo 3
I've allways loved ghosts
Halo 3's the Ark is incredible, but half of it is on foot.
I’ve got a good challenge for you: *BEATING THE HALO TRILOGY WITH ONLY GRENADES*
Hard to argue with this.
How is it possible to drive the Elephant on HALO 3's Warthog Run?
What about the great journey, you get to drive a wraith, ghost, spectre and banshee.
bro you did not even TOUCH on the ark its a great vehicle level
I haven't watched the video yet, but based on the thumbnail... marking "Delta Halo" as "meh" is nothing short of a sin.
Bruh, how can you use anything other than a warthog in "outskirts" in Halo 2? I have no idea why you didn't include it on the list
Man eating lions in the Chicago field museum
Are from Tsavo.......they are named the Ghost and the Darkness
The Halo 3 run wins, because having Arbiter on the gun was the best possible use of a Warthog.
No tank levels?
Is it just me or does the banished ghost just look... Off... Like it's just a recolor but I think that's the problem. The color doesn't really match the design. I think maybe if the wings were angled a bit sharper and the back was flares at the rim like a shovel it could have looked cooler. Almost like an arrowhead darting through the air
Long night of solace best vehicle mission
Halo 5 might have been really good... If the forerunner and their weapons weren't so boring. The forerunner were just to tanky and the satisfaction of headshotting a crawler was not comparable to headshotting a grunt.
The air drivers of halo 4 suck so bad this one marine just drove me straight off the map without hesitation
Honestly you can tell uprising was rushed during development. Weird enemy placements
Tsavo Highway is great
Does anyone else just never use the warthog longer than necessary? Like I understand I suck at driving but seriously even if I was blind I could shoot better than most marines.
the Halo creator content drought is real
Before the video starts, imo Halo from CE is the best
Now the tank level.
Too much clutter and rough terrain to enjoy vehicles in infinite
Gouse Hog
Do you think 2008 was the best year for gaming?
Title feels too misleading since it ignores a lot of great levels. Especially given the fact the only vehicles it really considered for driving were just three out of the numerous vehicles that been present in sandbox...
I say Halo Infinite overall is more Warthog focused just because it's a great vehicle to traverse the large map quickly, while also being able to defend yourself, and that's just about the only vehicle that can fill that role for you for a hot minute unless you're the type to blitz through side content.
Halo 3 again 🥱🥱😴😴
I personally don't like much the halo CE and 3 warthog run
Day 2 of asking for best views in hal
Rocket marines were the best
Best vehicle section is easily Halo 3 on Halo. Strongest/most op section is the razorback laser show.
The maw. Quit wasting peoples time
F I R S T
Not even close m8
Halo 3 wins again lol
none of that matters when you compare how shitty they handle in all other halo games after the first CE.... why they ruined the perfect handling from the first is beyond me...
