What will happen, if I start the motor of a W203 with automatic transmission 722.6 without put the EGS on its place, but it will be connected to the electronical circuit and the ATF source will be also attached correctly? Would it damage the transmission, would the car start to move on its own, or would it just trow old ATF out and nothing else will happen?

      Yellow lights doesn't reflect as much as the blue-ish lights. That's why people racing Baja 1000 (for example) would use more yellow-ish lights when following in the dust trail of another participant. Same applies to snow/rain, just in a different extent. That's what I've heard anyways... I reckon that's why for example Rigid Industries (led light bar manufacturer) let you choose colours for your light bar, depends on application.
      Edit: it's a well discussed topic, so don't take my words on it.

    Hey bro just out of curiosity seems like the bolts that snapped might've been impacted from the side by the cam timing position ring with the odd shapes to it... seems like some of the bolts lines up with open areas of the position ring while some remained always covered by the metal portion of the ring.. so when solenoid would engage the cam position ring would be impacting the bolt heads from the side

  • @tkrap
    @tkrap 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    I guess that was a happy failure, those bolts failed instead of the valves, I suspect it was out of timing or the cam was installed incorrectly.

    So glad I got rid of my 63 when I did. The only thing I liked about it was the engine, and apparently they're made of glass. Suspension sucked, seats sucked, entertainment system sucked. At least it didn't blow up before I sold it CarMax. I got lucky.

      They are money pits. Everyone that comes in for service with over 60K on it needs usually a solid $2-4k worth of work. Common issues are worn/broken engine mounts, leaking VC gaskets & rattling cam adjusters.

    Looking for head bolt, camshafts and adjuster DIY for m156? I found this awesome video th-cam.com/video/zJO1qNnhxw4/w-d-xo.html. I followed it and replaced my cams and lifters.

    Absolutly love the content! I'm only at a 8hours drive from your shop, I am studying to become a mechanical engeneer and I would absolutly love to give you a pair of hands for a day or two completly free just for sake of learning and seeing how you operate your shop! Please hit me up if you think that would be possible. It'd be a dream come true for me.

    A Mercedes Repair shop will always recommend a Mercedes to a new car shopper. They make a lot of JUNK . The parts are so expensive it makes you want to scrap them. Everything is like a Jig saw puzzle so it takes more time to repair. And they are usually ugly.

    poor guy, working on a Sunday... :) apart from the joke, another comment i would do is that with your knowledge and skills you probably should be head of engineering in some automotive company, or have your own engineering company doing stuff for cars. why are you working (almost) as a regular mechanic? i am just curious, maybe it is just the fact that you are living the life you like relatively simple and you don’t like the corporate world, but anyway you are special and so i am curious about your answer if you could provide. thanks in advance.

    10:11, maybe he overtorqued them and broke everyone of em and never said anything and left it like that?
    EDIT:** ^ I was right xD I just literally was watching the video while making my conclusion lol...
    Also if there was no torque spec on those 5 broken bolts, what did you torque it to? Where'd you get the specs for that?

    • @MotownModels
      @MotownModels 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Lime a lot of the time you can just get a generic cookbook answer for bolt torques depending on the bolt size, pitch count, hardness, and material it's going into.

      @@MotownModels mhm, i guess... I just wanted a specific answer from SK8215 himself to see how he did it.

      Lime I mean, it turned out to be the wrong torque value anyways. Should be 20nm according to the M156 master Tasos.
