    This video was originally filmed for the Element Optics channel, but I thought I’d share it here too since it is good information to know (whether you like Element or not)😄. I won’t publish all the Element videos here, so if you want to see more like this please subscribe to the Element channel here: th-cam.com/channels/rjXLZpYd-tJimQTQQKrVPQ.html

    Needed this video 30+ years ago. It’s funny how none of us, shooters in general, have ever met or talked but we all have figured out or learned a lot of the same tricks. Never thought of pulling my bolt and seeing if my crosshairs centered to it. Learn something new every day 😁. Great video. 👍

    Good to check that inside of scope rings are smooth and line up correctly with each other. Lapping can help both situations if needed.

    Excellent instructional video Matt. I would highly recommend you look into acquiring a Wheeler Scope RIng Alignment and Lapping tool set... you will be amazed with the results! Enjoyed meeting you at Utah Air Guns this past January. If you come to the states March-June I can take you to the alfalfa fields for some "sage rat" shooting (Belding's ground squirrel). Very easy to burn through 500 rounds a day doing pest "control" !

    Great instruction and revision for scopes. I would be cautious of using locktite on any set of mounts as the nature of it as it dries can actually increase the torque on the screws unevenly depending on how much was used and thus either give you a cant or worst damage the tube. From personal experience of wrecking an ffp Optisan

    • @neelsmuller3716
      @neelsmuller3716 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Happy Halfwit please explaining how the drying of Loctite can increase the torque on bolts and screws and how Loctite can cause cant . !!!!! You screwed up your scope because you over tighten your scope rings,....... nothing to do with the Locktite.

    The Element Helix only has 18.9 mils of elevation. Using a 20 or 30 MOA rail you may not have the adjustment needed to zero the scope. The top 10 and bottom 10 moa of adjustment shouldn't be used.
    I made this mistake thinking I could use this scope on my .22 lr precision.

    Dear Mat
    I once had a question, is there sometimes already known when the Element Helix is expected in Belgium.
    I am already waiting to order it at Krale sport shooting.
    Are there also t-shirts and or other items for sale from element.
    and I would also like to hear where I can order the patch from Airhunters because it is not sent to Belgium.
    nor does she find it at Airgun 101.
    Best regards

    8:25 в теории правильно делаешь. Но! Перед этим нужно винтовку выстовить вертикально и горизонтально. Только после этого выставляется прицел по уровню.

    HEY MATT, IVE BEEN LEVELING MY SCOPES ACCORDING TO MY SHOULDERING OF MY GUNS (per SHOULDERING,everyone's hold is different, I've adjusted reticle level per my hold ! Always a small cantering (sp).
    Can you state if projectile will still travel level on target ?? Thanx .

  • @dirtrider88
    @dirtrider88 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    you mentioned 2 different ways to level your scope so my question is, is it more important to have your scope and rifle leveled like shown using the 2 bubble levels or is it good enough if just your scope is leveled as mentioned using a plumb line?

  • @MikeS1944

    If you are not going to shoot further then 100 yards using a Titan scope do you need a 20MOA mount or can you use 0 moa mount?

  • @heathhalfhill6867
    @heathhalfhill6867 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    So your saying , like most scopes, these scopes do not come with mounts and rings? What are you thoughts on Quick release mounts? Yes, they are not really quick release mounts because after I tighten them down properly with an Allen wrench to where they can not come lose, they are no “Really” longer “Quick Release”. Unless your as strong as the Incredible Hulk! Because I can’t release the cam on the QD system in reality. I have to use the Allen wrench to loosen them up to where the cam system works again.

    • @AirArmsHuntingSA
      @AirArmsHuntingSA  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely not. It would not be smart to sell a scope with rings because different rifles require different mounts.

    Hi Matt, I use a element optics Titan, a real nice scope! I noticed however that when I level my turret top with a spirit level like you explain in this video, my reticle is far from lined up as it should be. I leveled it with a rope and a weight in it now and of course that always worked. But I assume it is not Meant to be at least 10 to 15 degrees of in comparison with the top of the top turret.
    What would I need to do. Would you advice to have my scope checked at a dealer?

    • @davidhonfi2683
      @davidhonfi2683 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@AirArmsHuntingSA It's rather complex: you take two zipties, and afix the scope to the reciever with those (for extra durability, you can run one if the zipties trough your triggerguard, in order to protect it), and then you zero the gun, and pray to dear God your zero doesn't change after you so much as breath in the general direction of the optic, or that the recoil doesn't knock it straight off. Pretty cool if you ask me:)
