- John tinylimo and I took a trip to the local portis gold mine. We not only shocked ourselves but we managed to shock the mine owner Steve too. We found an old pile of gold and silver ore that has been overlooked for years. Gold prospecting nc Is so much fun.

Great work, looks like some good times ahead crushing rocks, you need a little hammer mill like mine, it makes short work with crushing the rocks and turns it to powder, have fun.

Since 2019 when i found my 1st gold in quartz i was hooked lol. Since then i been finding NC rocks with gold some in Virginia too funny thing was growing up family farmed tobacco & frowned upon prospecting i remember asking about gold...I really love it! Gold is where you find it for sure!! I researched the history before I went looking in these areas. You never know what you'll come across some rocks I find with gold have that black where the gold rides you know you got a winner when you see it buddy!!!

You can cook the rock at high heat and it crumbles to easy to crush

Why don't you get a metal detector for gold
I have one but most of the gold we find in our area is so small the doesn’t register on the detector. Thanks David.
