Please don’t speak to me of reparations. 340,000 Union Soldiers gave their lives in the Civil War. Every fourth farm, cabin, apartment, or house, lost a man. This does not include those who survived with horrific wounds and amputations with no anesthesia but whiskey, if they were lucky.
And once we had our parts down, we sang for the girls in our class and they all Just us 10 guys singing for the 40 girls we had sitting in front of us.
I recently heard this, sung by a ten man choir at the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres. Unbelievably moving. I think the swaying represents the poppies blowing in the wind. ,
My state's TTB honors choir is singing this song and when I first heard it I could help but sob at how beautiful the boy's sounded. I'm in the SA honors choir, but I wish I could sing a song that powerful with them.
I love this song so much, this year the TTB honor choir sung this and I’m in SA. Last night was the concert, when I heard them sing it. I started bawling my eyes out, and so did many people around me. This song hits kinda hard to me. I lost my grandpa, and we were really close. So it hurt listening to it, but the Andrea Ramsey was the ttb honor choir director which was fucking cool.
i heard this for the first time yesterday afternoon when our Trinity High School mens’ choir performed it. I was nearly moved to tears by their amazing performance and the outstanding beginning soloist. This is a truly moving and amazing song.
il be doing the solo for this song in men of klein when i first heard it my eyes were so glassy its kinda hard singing the solo while trying not to cry
Love this song got to this sing with 500 other men at Fresno state in 2012 our composer was the man that did the composing for Glee the show it was amazing I hope I can find if they recorded it was so powerful

No - just no. That would be "choreography" and not appropriate in this setting. The swaying is simply an extension of emotion in the music and actually shows freedom of tension in the singer.
To hear it sung by young men about the age of a Civil War soldier makes it all the more heart wrenching.
Tears come to my eyes when I hear this. We sang this in chorus, and there were a lot of glassy eyes. From us and the audience
Every time…
Did you go to Franklin Livonia high school?
I had to sing this on Veterans Day. It took every fiber of my being to not fall on my knees crying
We sang this in high school for a fallen soldier. Still makes me tear up every time I think about it. Such a beautiful song.
My dad was my best friend. I miss and love him so
This song is so beautiful, men's choir at my old highschool sang this and I've been in love since

Reparations? The King of England should make me rich.
I performed this for an all star choir in Orlando back in like the 8th grade. It was great to see that we had made an emotional impact on the crowd.
acda?
In my school, our 8th grade boys sang this and most of us cried. It's such a beautiful song
I remember singing this for solo and ensemble in 2017 for middle school it also came with a French song I forgot the name for and “ubi caritas”
When I did this with the mens choir at my undergrad, they had me do the first verse as a solo, but I prefer it done by all basses like it is here.
@Mixer: SSB_Styxthank you
I bet it was beautiful
I heard a choir sing this no more than a few minutes ago. Out of nowhere, this piece made me cry painful tears.
Ouch.
I miss my freshmen year sooo bad just because we sang this song. I sang the bass part and I remember it so well :,(
And once we had our parts down, we sang for the girls in our class and they all Just us 10 guys singing for the 40 girls we had sitting in front of us.

My brother conducted this piece back in highschool. First time I've seen my dad so close to tears
I still get shivers every time I listen to this and I sang it in eighth grade for men’s chorus
I recently heard this, sung by a ten man choir at the Last Post ceremony at the Menin Gate in Ypres.
Unbelievably moving.
I think the swaying represents the poppies blowing in the wind.

I just cried listening to this

Just one word for this..... 'GREAT' !!
i heard this for the first time yesterday afternoon when our Trinity High School mens’ choir performed it. I was nearly moved to tears by their amazing performance and the outstanding beginning soloist. This is a truly moving and amazing song.
This son puts one right there on one of our major battlefields.
This song is just magnificent.
Oof in 1:59 I heard some say “tell him we will meet as men” I stead of “meet again”
I love it with a passion
The men's choir did this at my high school a couple years ago and it still brings tears to my eyes
I was singing this song in high school and they applauded for me and I had a performance in my choir class
I sang this my sophomore or junior year of HS and this just gave me the chills, talented choir!
This song makes me cry every single time. It’s going to be at my great grandfathers funeral
Sooo sad is am crying😢😢(I try to stay positive but when I hear this song....)
Sooo beautiful
Same, especially where they sing "Where the Angels learn to fly". Dunno why but that part always gets me.
i was a part of a highschool honor choir program and the guys sang this song, i cried right there on stage

I’m sang this song in my choir class in high school

Just preformed this song for choir at my high school.
I'd say we were just as good as these guys.
Video will be on my channel soon.
Beautiful ! We are performing this tomorrow at AJSW.
i was there!!

This was incredible.
Tears.
On Saturday, I'll be performing the violin part with my school's men's choir.
Looking forward to preforming this in my choir class!
Just 2 days ago, I had the opportunity to do solo #3 in this song. Truly a opportunity
The swaying makes this so much better oml
Singing this song at Large Group Festival on Friday.
We sang this last November in choir
I'm doin this in choir right now
Our men are doing this in our all county choir
Who disliked this? I just want to talk
Hey guys
tell my father...
arr
To think the Left has belittled the Civil War angers me that hundreds of thousands of young men died for such a noble cause.
I just got g noted on another level
did you like it ?
0:26
I’m so sorry Shawn.
Bro my school choir is singing this and I’m the violin player I’m scared the whole school will see me
BEAU, mais un tempo un peu lent
BEAUTIFUL, but the time is a bit slow
Yes, but i think it sounds better.
jeez they sway so much it almost looked synchronized

I’ll fix it for everybody.
the swaying is so distracting. i get that it's a normal thing when singing but this is just too much.
The swaying movement should have been coordinated by all of the singers moving in the same direction.
No - just no. That would be "choreography" and not appropriate in this setting. The swaying is simply an extension of emotion in the music and actually shows freedom of tension in the singer.
I don’t think they can help it. It’s shows that they were all getting into the song. It wouldn’t sound as good believe me.
