This game is definitely a step down in almost every area compared to 2 and 3 It has better graphics and I guess is on a system with a better controller but that's about it for improvements Items are less useful and are part of a trend the Mario Party is for some reason started where they Began really dumbing down the items Removing a lot of the strategy from saving coins for the store in that the Mega and mini mushrooms that this game really likes to whore out are just not that interesting the giant mushroom you skip everything that you're passing which leads to much less interactive and stimulating turn and the mini mushroom is just a skeleton key the lottery instead of an abysmally lame Addition in that the odds for winning any part of the library Are very very low I don't think I have ever seen a gold ball that gives you 100 coins ever appear in well over 100 games and on the scratch tickets I think I've gotten the top prize once and the secondary prize only a handful of times and then I don't even care about the 3rd tier prize I don't want a giant or mini mushroom oh in the part where they that's absurdly unlikely where all three characters have to line up with their choice and the mathematical number of combinations that are possible means that the odds of having the correct ticket are so obscenely low particularly since instead of millions of people playing a lottery it's literally just 4 I have never seen a winning lottery ticket outside of a youtube video and I know a fair number of people who have never seen that event happen where somebody has the winning ticket so what was the point of the lottery in the game it didn't do anything To enhance the game because the odds are so minuscule you ignore it because it's not gonna happen you're not gonna win Slower pace of the game is also to its detriment it takes longer to move around the board so turns take longer On average And this is more of a personal thing but I do not like how the boards are no longer integrated into the level that you're no longer say walking on the beach in a beach level better and instead walking on a lame and generic looking metallic path throughout the stage and I feel it dramatically impacts the Immersion of the game I don't feel like you're going around a real amusement park In this game we're say in the first game it feels like you're really going around on the clouds in the Mario Cloud stage
