This is part 1 of a 2-part series aiming to specifically help new Onefinity CNC users who are using V Carve Pro but I believe any new Onefinity user could learn something from this. Thanks so much for watching - drop a comment and let me know what software you are running! 🤘🏼
I cannot begin to tell you how much this helped me!!!! So simple and straightforward and doesn't assume that as beginners we know all the "buzz" words. I have been struggling for months trying to get started. I watch both parts of this and headed to the shop and FINALLY it all came together and I was able to cut something. Nothing dramatic, but at least now I know what to do. THANK YOU so much!
It's crazy how much stuff you have to learn to drive into these machines. Vectric really makes it easy to learn for sure. Cool to watch you learning this stuff'
Its 1am, CST, I just finished putting together my 1F, and actually got V-Carve Pro. Can't believe I fell upon your video. I haven't a clue here so hopefully you can make it clear as mud for me. Here goes, and I'll let you know after I finish
That’s quite late to be learning that sort of stuff! You didn’t let me know how it went so I assume you didn’t finish or you fell asleep on your CNC table. 😂😴
Besides your site, I have to say Mark Lindsay is one of the best tutorials on vcarve.... bar none. I started out blind with cnc. I knew nothing and expected nothing in the beginning. Watching Mark can be a little annoying because he talks slow, but you'll realize quickly he does this because he packs so much information in each tutorial. I soon was digging in vcarve and learning more on my own. I don't plan to sell anything. I make things for the local neighborhood with children for free. Getting a note from the kids is all I need:) So... Thank you for sharing your progress and info.
I agree! Mark really teaches it well. Sounds like you are very fortunate to get to make things for others. How cool is that? Thanks for the feedback! ❤️
@@OakHillMillworks Your welcome. Probably why I'm poor all the time... but the kids really do appreciate it and that is my payment. Worth every cent. Keep making your great content!
@@wm973 haha! Well you’re rich in experiences… those are the things that matter in life anyway. We are moving out of state so videos will be delayed for a bit but excited to get the CNC back up and running in the new shop!
You are a great instructor! I know a little about cnc (I have shapeoko which I hate) but I learned something new from you about the cheat method! Thanks Chica 😊
This is a awesome video for a newbie! I have been using the vcarve for four years, I really came here just to see what post processor you were using in the vcarve for the onefinity… But watched the whole video because you are just an excellent teacher. Great job 👏
Dang that’s so nice of you to take the time to give me that feedback. Thank you so much. I really enjoy doing it. I myself have been paralyzed by fear in the past so I’m hoping to help people get over that same hurdle.
@@BuildswithBrian Aw! I wish that were still true. We just moved to central Indiana this past August. Life has been nuts and that’s why I haven’t put out many TH-cam videos since we moved. I have two coming out in a couple weeks though!
Really?! I had no idea. It just seemed like an intimidating factor for me to know how to program that stuff and I still have much to learn but the databases are a great starting point. Thanks for the watch and comment!
Thank you, Mark! I’m not going to act like seeing your comment didn’t make me totally giggle to see your name pop up on MY TH-cam. I hope I can help others get started on their CNC journeys the way your videos helped me!
@@BruceAUlrich I am curious if you'd be interested in doing some design work in illustrator for some extra $. I can import the DXF or SVG into Fusion at that point. Thanks for consideration.
pay close attention to the chip load and stay within their recomeneded setting as it will change as you increase or decrease your rpm and feed rate in ipm. Chip load is important for tool life
Always dig the content! While I am still waiting on my journeyman, I have downloaded The car Pro trial. I will be purchasing it just not quite yet as it's a hefty chunk of change. Do you know if you can download the speeds and speeds from places like bits and bits before you have a machine? Just looking to get some of those things up and running to help reduce down time when the machine arrives.
Hey Jeremy! Thanks for watching! I’m excited to share the next half next week. Probably on Wednesday. - you can absolutely download the tool database at any point. The tools today version comes in a regular file you can print out and then you could highlight the bits you plan to use and just have the settings on paper. I didn’t try to open the bits and bits file in anything other than vectric but it is just a regular file you can download.
Fantastic video, Christy! As you know I use Fusion 360. But I may dip my toes in to the V-Carve world here soon when I get the woodworker X50 in. I use Fusion because it was fitting my needs more than V-Carve would have by a mile. But I would like to do some actual carving with the new machine lol. (I seriously can't wait to get that thing in). Lol I almost offered OF up in Toronto to literally drive up, assemble it in their shop, test it and pack it back up. No joke. When you have stuff that you need to get done and waiting on the machine that is going to do it...a little frustrating to have to wait.
I have heard that fusion 360 is awesome! I don’t know people who use it with the 1F but I would encourage you to join the Facebook onefinity group if you haven’t already. Great place to network. You could always sub out some work in the meantime to not lose clients if it’s really time sensitive.
@@JF32304 I stopped using Facebook forever ago too! I made a business page recently and I tell ya what, that group is worth getting back on Facebook if only for onefinity group interactions. ❤️
I believe Vectric programs only run on Windows. Check out something called Parallels. It acts as an app on a Mac so that you can run windows applications on Macs. Best of both worlds so I hear!

Thanks, Mike! It’s like the machines are pretty easy to use but the programming to get to that point is what takes some learning.
I think you do an excellent job with explaining how to use Vectric V-Carve.
